Orange is a good color for the rooms where people usually eat. People like eating together and talking to each other in an orange room.
If you are a student, ask your parents to color your study yellow. Yellow can make you think faster and more carefully. You may be more confident about yourself.

Many Canadian kids woke up to the smell of wildfire smoke last summer. Some are wondering: Is it dangerous? How can I protect myself?
Is wildfire smoke dangerous? For most people, the effect of wildfire smoke is only short-lived. Effects can include irritation (刺激) of the eyes, nose and throat; coughing and shortness of breath. They will get worse the more time you spend outdoors, especially if you’re active outside—doing sports and other exercise.
The key to staying safe? Stay inside. Both Kovesi and Hughes agree that the best thing for kids to do is stay inside when wildfire smoke is in the air. “It’s especially important for kids who are super active to stop those activities. This is not the time to go jogging, play soccer and other sports.” Hughes said. “Those activities require you to breathe harder and deeper, which may put you in danger.”
Other steps you can take. It’s best to close your windows and doors when inside. You can also use an air conditioner. Kovesi said that masks can also help lower the risk a little, particularly N95 masks. But they need to be worn correctly.
( )1. What’s the purpose of Paragraph 1?
A. To ask a question. B. To lead into the topic. C. To describe a story. D. To give an example.
( )2. What can wildfire smoke bring to people?
A. Let people feel hard to breathe. B. Cause young people die quickly.
C. Avoid people to cough all the time. D. Make people more active than before.
( )3. In which section of a magazine could you read the text?
A. Opinion. B. Tech. C. Health. D. Travel.
( )4. According to the article, which sentence is WRONG?
A. For most people, wildfire isn’t too dangerous.
B. For most people, the effect of wildfire smoke is only short-lived.
C. Staying inside is safest when wildfire happens.
D. When you stay inside, you’d better close to the window or door.

China’s major telecom carrier (电信运营商) will start to provide 5G service in China. The “G” in 5G refers to the generations of mobile technologies. 1G let us talk to each other, 2G let us send messages, 3G gave us mobile data and the Internet, and 4G made all of these things a little faster.
Now 5G promises much faster speed, and more connections. This means that you will be able to download an entire HD movie in seconds and only experience a short delay between sending and receiving data.
According to The Times, 5G will be able to improve many advanced technologies. With a 5G network, the short delay in information exchange will allow driverless cars to run more safely, as they will be able to communicate in real time and avoid possible dangers. Meanwhile, 5G enabled wearable products will keep doctors in touch with their patients and warn them right now if there’s something wrong. Besides, VR games will be more popular with 5G. The short delay of 5G will make games feel even more real.
But 5G is not perfect. For one thing, 5G will not “travel” far. On 4G networks, you can be 10 kilometers away from the nearest transmission base (传输基地). But 5G will only cover about 300 meters, meaning that we will need more transmission bases so that we can get signals. And in order to use 5G, we have to buy new products designed for 5G that are expensive now.
( )1. What can’t we do with 5G?
A. Play games quickly and safely. B. Experience more network connections.
C. Make VR games more popular. D. Download an HD movie in seconds.
( )2. What can we infer from the passage?
A. Fewer transmission bases will be needed in the near future.
B. New products designed for 5G are inexpensive now.
C. If patients have difficulty, doctors can help them at once with the help of 5G.
D. There will be no delay in information exchange with 5G.
( )3. What’s the meaning of the underlined word “generations”?
A. 代 B. 繁殖 C. 产生 D. 同辈
( )4. What’s the main idea of the passage?
A. The difference of 5G and other Gs. B. 5G’s advantages and disadvantages.
C. Mobile phones’ development. D. 5G’s functions.

My job was doing different kinds of research. Six years ago, I had an idea of researching luck. I wondered why some people are always in the right place at the right time, while others always experience bad luck.
Many people volunteered for my research. Over the years I interviewed them, watched their lives and had them take part in experiments.
I carried out a simple experiment to discover why there were differences in their ability to spot chances. I gave both lucky and unlucky people a newspaper and asked them to look through it and tell me how many photos were inside.
I had secretly placed a large message halfway through the newspaper saying, “Tell the researcher you have seen this and win $ 50.”
This message took up half of the page and was about 6 cm high. It was staring everyone straight in the face, but unlucky people tended to miss it and lucky people tended to spot it. Unlucky people are just more nervous than lucky people. They are busy looking only for what they need and this stops them from noticing the unexpected. As a result, they miss out on chances.
Lucky people tend to be more relaxed and open. They can see everything that is in front of them, rather than just what they are looking for. So be open to new experiences and break normal thought patterns. Listen to your gut instincts (直觉) and see yourself being lucky. Then luck will come to you.
( )1. What do we know about the research from the first two paragraphs?
A. The theme of the research was luck.
B. There were few volunteers in the research.
C. The research didn’t include any experiments.
D. The idea to take up the research began three years ago.
( )2. The underlined word “spot” in Paragraph 3 means “______”.
A. create B. find C. miss D. offer
( )3. What does the writer want to tell us?
A. Lucky people tend to be more nervous.
B. Unlucky people are more about the unexpected.
C. We should be open to new experiences.
D. Don’t be busy looking at things in front of us.
( )4. What’s the best title for the passage?
A. Unlucky in Love, Lucky at Play
B. Bad Luck Always Comes in Threes
C. Happy-Go-Lucky or Just Unlucky
D. Behind Bad Luck Comes Good Luck
