3 These beautiful golden stones quietly keep pieces of the past. They can tell us whether dinosaurs had feathers, but that’s not all. They also help us understand that life on earth has always changed. A piece of amber from Northern Europe, for example, holds a flower. This species no longer grows in this area. But the find proves that it did 35 million years ago. In the future, amber may also help us discover if other species have changed over time.

He said (that) the book was veryinteresting and that (不能省 略)
all thechildren liked to read it.
(1)主句的谓语动词是表示肯定的概念, believe, expect, explain, feel, forget, guess, hear, hope, imagine, know, prefer, promise, remember, report, say, see, tell, think, understand, warn, wish 等时,其后面的宾语从句一般用that引导。
例如:
I hope (that) he will be fine soon.
He said (that) he didn't like music.
glad, happy, pleased, sad, satisfied, sorry,
I'm afraid (that) he can't come.
We are all pleased (that) you can come.
I don' t know whether/if he will help me.
We don’t decide whether to go toBeijing or not.
It depends on whether you want to do it.
They are talking about whether to buy acar or not.
用 that, if, whether 填空。
(1)I think he will come back soon.
(2) She wonders the movie is interesting.
(3)The teacher said the earth goes around the sun.
that
if/whether
that
