I had a lovely childhood in a lovely place. Yet, there was always in me the sense that I ought to be somewhere else. And wander I did, although, in my everyday life, I had nowhere to go and no imaginable reason on earth why I should want to leave. I wandered the world through books. I went to Tara, and Manderley, and Thornfield Hall, all those great houses, with their high ceilings and high drama, as I read Gone with the Wind, Rebecca, and Jane Eyre.
There was a club chair in our house. In my mind I am always stretched on it, reading with my skinny legs slung over one of its arms. In the years since those days in that club chair I have learned that I was not alone in this, although at the time I surely was, the only child I knew, or my parents knew, or my friends knew, who preferred reading to playing.
In books I have traveled, not only to other worlds, but into my own. I learned who I was and who I wanted to be, what I might aspire to, and what I might dare to dream about my world and myself. I learned the difference between good and evil, right and wrong.
Reading is like so much else in our culture: the truth of it is found in its people and not in its experts and its professionals. If I believed what I read about reading I would despair. But instead there are letters from readers to attend to, like the one from a girl who had been given one of my books by her mother and began her letter, “I guess I am what some people would call a bookworm.”
“So am I,” I wrote back.
24.What did the author do to wander the world in childhood?
A.She traveled to famous places. B. She read different works.
C.She made friends with people. D. She watched many movies.
25. Why did the author feel lonely in her childhood?
A. She much preferred reading to playing. B. She had no friends to play with in life.
C. She was too shy to communicate with others. D. Her parents refused to let her go out.
26. What benefit did reading bring to the author?
A. It made her become a popular child. B. It offered her a chance to travel in real life.
C. It helped her shape views of the world. D. It enabled her to punish evil and reward good.
27. What words can describe the girl in the last paragraph?
A. silly B. modest C. bookish D. talkative
C
China marks International Women's Day on Sunday, lawmakers are advocating a shift from simply preventing rights infringements to actively supporting women's "full lifecycle" needs — from reproductive health to career development.
Their message is clear: Building a birth-friendly society is not about asking women to choose between family and work. It is about creating conditions where they no longer have to.The shift matches with the national drive to build a "birth-friendly society", a policy priority as China faces an aging population and declining birth rates.
Authorities reported that 7.92 million babies were born last year, down from 9.54 million the previous year. That contributes to a population decline of 3.39 million. Some lawmakers attribute the declining birthrate in part to women's growing presence in the workforce — a sign of social progress, they say.
"Women go through a long perinatal period(围产期)," Huang said. "We need flexible work and study mechanisms so they don't have to choose between family and career. If women are disconnected from society for too long, it harms their personal development."
Some lawmakers have also pushed back against the idea that building a birth-friendly society means pressuring women to have more children.
"If we build a truly birth-friendly society, we realize that having children is not a minus for women — it's a plus," Dai said, referring to the outdated notion that pregnancy among professional women disrupts work schedules. "While fulfilling their work and social responsibilities, they also contribute more to society. They contribute to the next generation."
28. What is the "birth-friendly society" according to the passage?
A. Asking women to focus more on family than work.
B. Helping women to choose between family and work.
C. Keeping women from the tough family-work dilemma.
D. Reducing women's responsibilities to boost birth rates.
29. What does the underlined word "they" refer to in Paragraph 4?
A. Chinese Lawmakers B. Newborn Babies
C. The Authorities D. Working Women
30. What is Dai's view according to the Paragraph 6?
A. Women choose family over career. B. Birth-friendly society pressures women.
C. Having children benefits women D. Pregnancy disrupts women's work schedules.
31. Best title for the passage?
A. Women's Rights B. Birth-friendly Society
C. Declining Birth-rate D. Chinese Lawmakers
D
The 2026 Winter Olympic Games in Milan, Italy, was a muddy affair. From ice rinks to ski hillsides, conditions were warmer and wetter than expected. Some Olympians — cited the mud as contributing to an unusual rash of falls, crashes and disappointing performances.
But warm, wet conditions are something that outstanding winter athletes will have to get used to. Climate change is driving temperatures higher, leading to less snowfall and shorter periods of safe ice on frozen bodies of water. As competing on artificial snow or in indoor ice arenas (竞技场)becomes more common, what athletes learn could offer the rest of us tips for enjoying these environments safely.
The 2026 Winter Olympics also relied heavily on human-made snow. Watch reruns online and you probably won’t notice it wasn’t the real thing, but those who skied on it have said they could definitely tell. The color is almost beige(米色), which the eye can easily pick out, says snow hydrologist Noah Molotch of the University of Colorado Boulder. “It’s not yellow snow, but it does have a slightly darker appearance.”Unlike artificial snow, natural snow comes in many shapes .
It’s no surprise that many ski centers also use snow machines. From 2014 to 2023, the Northern Hemisphere lost an average of seven winter days per year that should have been below freezing, an analysis from Climate Central found. And Europe lost more freezing winter days compared with other regions — an average of two weeks per year.
It’s still possible to safely skate outdoors. It just may take a bit more care and caution than a century ago. Koelzer hasn’t skated on a frozen lake or an outdoor rink in more than a decade. But many hockey players do for fun and memory. Enjoy skating in nature but“always have your guard up,” she advises. In this warming world, snow and ice present new challenges: To chill out, you have to watch out those changes.
32. According to the article, which of the following is NOT a result of climate change for athletes?
A. Less artificial snowfall B. Shorter safe ice time
C. More mud on hillsides D. More indoor ice arenas
33. What is the difference between artificial snow and natural snow ?
A.Natural snow hard to distinguish. B. Artificial snow used once at Olympics.
C.Artificial snow has darker appearance. D, Natural snow widely used at Olympics.
34. What does Paragraph 4 intend to illustrate?
A. Europe turns warm in cold winter days. B. Ski centers must make artificial snow.
C.Climate change reduces artificial snowfall. D. Lost winter days cause less snowfall.
35. What can we infer about winter athletes?
A. Abandon outdoor winter sports. B. Adjust training and competition plans.
C. Easier to win in warm conditions. D. Ignore climate change impact.

Got an uninspiring home office, a dirty living room or a cluttered entryway — 36 Cliff Tan, a London has some ideas on how to upgrade your living area. These ideas are inspired by the principles of feng shui, the ancient Chinese practice of designing spaces to promote harmony.
●Handle the ugly things first
If one bad element is ruining your harmonious feelings about your space, "fix that first," says Tan. It will free up your energy to make more balancing adjustments.
● 37
In feng shui, you can achieve that by placing yourself in what is called the "command position," he says. Whatever is behind you should be nice and sturdy and make you feel in charge of the space.
In a bedroom, always put your bed against a solid wall, and try not to point your feet toward any openings in the room, says Tan. 38 And don't put your head next to a door.
● Use multiple lamps to create warmth and consistency
A big, overhead light glares "down the floor" and casts strong, unnatural shadows. 39 . Use these smaller lights to highlight areas of focus.
●Consider a room's dimensions when picking out furniture
Social media can be an exciting place to find interior design ideas. But what might work in one room may not work in another. 40
A. But don't have a huge budget to redecorate?
B. So must spend amount of time to redecorate ?
C. Spend your time in the nicest part of the house.
D. Create an energy that makes you feel comfortable.
E. Too much energy comes through doors, and that can make sleepers feel vulnerable.
F. That's how you end up with a beautiful table that looks lost in your dining room.
G. Table lights and spotlights, however, create depth by giving you more control over the light.

(1). 细节理解题:为基础题型,占比最高,如A篇21题、C篇28题,直接考查学生从文本中定位、提取关键信息的能力,是阅读能力的核心基础考查;
(2). 推理判断题:为能力提升题型,如B篇25题、D篇35题,要求学生透过文本表面信息推导隐含逻辑和作者意图,考查深层语篇解读能力;
(3). 词义/指代判断题:为语言细节题型,如C篇29题,考查学生结合上下文语境理解词汇、代词的能力,衔接语言基础与语篇理解;
(4). 主旨大意/标题概括题:为语篇整体把控题型,如C篇31题,考查学生梳理文本核心话题、提炼主旨的能力,检验对语篇结构和整体内容的把握;
(1). 基础层:考查语言知识运用:通过不同文体的文本,考查学生对词汇、句式、固定搭配的理解,以及对不同文体语言特点(如应用文的简洁性、议论文的逻辑性)的把握,夯实语言基础;
(2). 核心层:考查综合阅读能力:通过多样题型,全面考查学生的信息定位、推理判断、主旨概括、语篇衔接等核心阅读能力,检验学生对语篇的“表层理解-深层解读-整体把控”能力;

22. 答案:A
23. 答案:A
解题思路:题干关键词“wander the world in childhood”,定位第一段关键句“I wandered the world through books”,后文列举《飘》《简·爱》等作品印证,即作者通过阅读不同书籍实现“漫游世界”,对应B;A“实地旅行”、C“交朋友”、D“看电影”均与原文不符。
25. 答案:A
解题思路:题干关键词“feel lonely”,定位第二段“the only child I knew... who preferred reading to playing”,明确作者是身边唯一喜欢阅读胜过玩耍的孩子,这是其童年孤独的直接原因,对应A;B“无朋友一起玩”、C“害羞不敢交流”、D“父母不让出门”均为原文未提及信息。
I learned who I was and who I wanted to be... learned the difference between
good and evil, right and wrong”,即塑造了作者对自我、世界的认知和价值观,对应C;A“成为受欢迎的孩子”、B“获得现实旅行机会”无依据;D“能够惩恶扬善”曲解原文,作者仅从阅读中学会分辨善恶,并非有这个能力。
解题思路:题干关键词“birth-friendly society”,定位第二段关键句“Building a birth-friendly society is not about asking women to choose between
family and work. It is about creating conditions where they no longer have to”,即打造让女性摆脱家庭与工作两难困境的环境,对应C;A“让女性更关注家庭”、B“帮女性做选择”与原文相反;D“减少女性责任以提高生育率”原文未提及。
解题思路:定位第四段划线词“they”, 根据后文的so they don't have to choose between family and career,可知指的是工作中的女性;A.
解题思路:定位第六段Dai的观点,核心句“referring to the outdated notion that pregnancy among professional women disrupts work schedules”,对应D;A“女性选家庭弃工作”、B“友好生育社会施压女性”与原文相反;D“生孩子对女性有好处”和原文"If we build a truly birth-friendly society, we realize that having children is not a minus for women — it's a plus,"建造生育友好的社会,才能让女性意识到生孩子是加分项而不是减分项,是两个不同的概念。
32. 答案:A
解题思路:题干关键词“difference between artificial and natural snow”,定位第三段,人造雪“has a slightly darker appearance(外观稍暗,呈米色)”,自然雪“comes in many shapes(形状多样)”,对应C;A“自然雪难以区分”,根据“Watch reruns online and you probably won’t notice it wasn’t the real thing, but those who skied on it have said they could definitely tell”对于经常滑冰的人是能够区分;B“人造雪仅在奥运会使用”错误,原文提及滑雪中心也大量使用;D“自然雪在奥运会广泛使用”错误,2026冬奥会高度依赖人造雪。
解题思路:定位第二段关键句“warm, wet conditions are something that
outstanding winter athletes will have to get used to”,且气候变化让自然雪减少、人造雪/室内冰场成为常态,可合理推断运动员需调整训练和比赛计划以适应变化,对应B;A“放弃户外冬季运动”过于绝对,原文仅说户外滑冰需更谨慎;C“温暖环境中更容易获胜”错误,原文提及泥泞导致运动员摔倒、表现不佳;D“忽视气候变化的影响”与原文“必须适应”相悖。
36. 答案:A
