(原创)Have you ever wondered how ancient people discovered useful things without modern technology? Many great discoveries happened by accident. One famous example is penicillin, the first antibiotic. In 1928, Scottish scientist Alexander Fleming came back from a holiday and found that a mould had grown on a bacteria culture he had left in his lab. To his surprise, the mould had stopped the bacteria from growing. This accidental discovery saved millions of lives later.
Another example is the microwave oven. In 1945, American engineer Percy Spencer was working on a radar device. He noticed that a chocolate bar in his pocket had melted. He realized that microwaves could heat food quickly. That’s how the microwave oven was invented.
Not all discoveries are accidental, however. Some require years of hard work. For example, Tu Youyou, a Chinese scientist, discovered artemisinin, a life-saving medicine for malaria. She studied ancient Chinese medical books and tested hundreds of herbs. Finally, she succeeded. She was awarded the Nobel Prize in 2015.

This technology is not only convenient but also safe. Your money is protected by passwords and fingerprint recognition. Many young people prefer mobile payment because it is fast and easy. Even street vendors and small shops use it now.
However, there are also some risks. If someone steals your phone, they might try to use your payment apps. So it is important to set a strong password and never share it with others.

VIII范文
Dear Tom,
I’m sorry to hear that you argued with your friend. Don’t worry too much — every friendship has difficult times.
In my opinion, true friendship is not about never fighting. It is about being honest and forgiving. When two people care about each other, they can get through any disagreement. My best friend and I once had a big argument over a small thing. We didn’t talk for a week. But later, we both felt terrible. Finally, I decided to talk to him first. We said sorry to each other and became even closer than before.
So my advice is: don’t be afraid to say sorry first. It doesn’t mean you are weak. It means you value your friend more than your pride. You could also write him a short note or invite him to hang out together.
I believe you will fix your friendship soon. Good luck!
Yours sincerely,
Li Hua
