Build a bee hotel using a glass jar to provide a safe nesting place for solitary bees. This project helps kids learn about bee habitats, the importance of pollinators (传花粉者), and biodiversity. Materials Needed Clean glass jar (mason jar or similar), paper, scissors, string or wire, and tape (optional). Steps 1. Prepare your paper tubes: Cut and roll your paper into tubes to a length slightly shorter than the height of the glass jar. Ensure the ends are smooth and open. The bees will go into these tubes, so the tubes should be about half an inch in width. 2. Fill the jar: Pack paper tubes tightly into the jar, making sure they fit tightly and do not fall out. The tubes should be arranged so that the open ends face outward. 3. Hang the bee hotel: Attach string or wire around the neck of the jar, forming a loop (圈) for hanging. Choose a location that is sheltered from heavy rain and direct wind but receives plenty of sunlight, such as under the eaves of a building or on a tree branch. 4. Monitor and maintain: Check the bee hotel regularly to ensure it remains undamaged and clean. Replace any damaged or blocked tube as needed. Science Concepts Bee habitats: Learn about the natural nesting preferences of solitary bees and how creating suitable habitats can support their populations. Pollination: Understand the crucial role bees play in pollination and maintaining biodiversity in ecosystems. Conservation: Explore the importance of conserving pollinator species and promoting biodiversity through small-scale interventions like building bee hotels. Ecology: Gain insights into the interactions between living organisms and their environment, emphasizing the interconnectedness of ecosystems. 21.Who is this project intended for? A.Young learners. B.Urban planners. C.Experienced farmers. D.Professional ecologists. 22.What can we infer about the paper tubes used in building a bee hotel? A.They must be completely closed at one end. B.They need to be replaced on a weekly basis. C.Their width is less important than their length. D.Their openings should stay uncovered and accessible. 23.What is a key ecological insight children can gain from the project? A.The value of teamwork among insects. B.The harm caused by chemical pollution. C.The link between species and surroundings. D.The method of picking artificial nests for bees. B A lively 73-year-old woman, Anne Goldberg has devoted her life to assisting other elderly people in learning about technology. With her extensive background in tech, dating back to the 1980s when she first explored early computer models, Anne is on a mission to make technology accessible and enjoyable for older adults. After a successful career working as a recruiter (招聘者), Anne found herself at a crossroads in 2013. A friend’s request for a birthday slideshow (幻灯片) reignited her passion for technology. The warm welcome from guests at the celebration sparked a wave of inquiries from older individuals eager to learn about their devices. This unexpected interest inspired Anne to consider a new business. With determination and her experience in outreach, she connected with an independent living facility in Boca Raton, Florida. The response was overwhelmingly positive, and she soon found herself leading her first class, where the elderly brought their unused smartphones and tablets. Many attendees were initially hesitant, even though their family members encouraged them — those family members had tried to teach them and often had a hard time. Anne’s gentle humor broke the ice as she acknowledged their unwillingness: “I know you hate the idea of being here.” Anne eased their mind that these feelings are common. She highlighted how devices allow families to connect across distances. The session was a resounding success. Fast forward twelve years, and Anne is now a beloved instructor at various retirement homes throughout Florida. “It’s incredibly rewarding,” she shares, reflecting on the joy she sees in her clients’ eyes when they achieve a breakthrough in understanding technology. Most of the elderly appreciate learning from someone close to their age, finding comfort in the shared experiences and challenges. They learn better from peers. Through her inspiring journey, Anne Goldberg has not only taught countless elderly people how to navigate the digital world but has also promoted a sense of community and belonging among them. Her story is a beautiful reminder that learning knows no age limits, and with the right guidance, anyone can do well in the age of technology. 24.What does the underlined word “reignited” in paragraph 2 mean? A.Defeated. B.Recognized. C.Reawakened. D.Sacrificed. 25.What can we know about Anne’s first class? A.Anne had a hard time in teaching the seniors. B.Anne warmed up the class in a humorous way. C.The attendees were active and excited initially. D.The learners were accompanied by their children. 26.What key factor makes Anne a beloved teacher? A.Her background in technology. B.Her similar age to the learners. C.Her rich experience in recruitment. D.Her professional teaching methods. 27.What message does the author want to convey? A.It’s never too old to learn. B.Experience is the best teacher. C.Time and tide wait for no man. D.Where there’s a will, there’s a way. C Why do life’s challenges make some people stronger and others weaker? The answer may lie in how our minds and genes interact. A new research project is now investigating the cognitive and genetic mechanisms that cause some people to flourish and others to struggle. Until now, research into cognitive biases and genetics has been entirely separate, so bringing them together in this research is really exciting. Previous research clearly tells us that certain sets of genes may lead people to develop anxiety or depression when they experience negative life events. But the new research finds that, in certain situations, those genes can also be a real benefit to people when they’re in supportive environments. If a child with so-called risky genes is in a good school and has much support, he or she can really flourish. We’re beginning to realize that we shouldn’t call them risky genes, but sensitivity genes. This means that some people at risk of mental health problems could, in the right conditions, be really happy. The other side of the research looks at cognitive biases. People always say: “Why is the media full of negative news stories?” This negativity can result in a society where people feel very anxious all the time. All of our brains are naturally tuned into negativity for evolutionary reasons - it’s more important to spot a predator (捕食者) than food-but this is especially true for anxious or depressed people. They are even more sensitive to the effects of negative information, making it more likely that they will adopt a pessimistic habit of mind. Crucially, these same people who are more affected by negativity are also more likely to be responsive to positive situations and, potentially, to psychological interventions. Right now, the researchers are on a five-year project and only halfway through. One of the exciting things is the possibility of developing much more personalized treatment options for psychological disorders. Once we know this, we will be in a better position to tailor treatments for individuals, rather than applying the one-size-fits-all approach used now. 28.What’s the focus of the new research? A.Attitudes to different life choices. B.The influence of negative experiences. C.Responsive mechanisms to challenges. D.The relationship between environment and genes. 29.How do the researchers arrive at the realization about “risky genes”? A.By clarifying an assumption. B.By comparing different situations. C.By adjusting research procedures. D.By analyzing effects of different genes. 30.What makes people sensitive to negativity according to paragraph 3? A.Pressure from modern life. B.Built-in survival mode. C.Exposure to negative reports. D.Drive for food resources. 31.Who might benefit more from the research? A.People with genetic disorders. B.People having high-risk lifestyles. C.People with mental health condition. D.People unwilling to accept challenges. D An ant that can turn carbon dioxide in the air into dolomite stone in its outer covering may hold clues to how humans can capture greenhouse gases to prevent climate disaster. Fungus-farming ants search for vegetation to feed fungi (真菌) grown inside their homes, which serve as their main food source. The large density of ants and fungi can result in high concentrations of CO2 inside the nests. In 2020, Cameron Currie at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and his colleagues found that the ant species Acromyrmex echinatior puts a carbonate biomineral into its armour through a symbiotic (共生的) relationship with Pseudonocardia bacteria, which turn CO2 into rock using chemical processes that are not yet fully understood. Now the team has discovered that another fungus-farming ant Sericomyrmex amabilis from Central and South America can do the same without symbiotic bacteria, becoming the first known animal to have developed this ability. Remarkably, the mineral they make is dolomite, which is extremely difficult for chemists to produce in the lab. Dolomite rocks, such as those found in Italy’s Dolomite mountains, require millions of years and complex geological processes for calcium and magnesium atoms to line up perfectly. Yet the ants do this quickly and effortlessly, without high temperatures, says team member Hongjie Li of Zhejiang University in China. For fungus-farming ants, turning CO2 into stone solves two problems: strengthening the ants’ outer covering and preventing the build-up of toxic (有毒的) CO2 inside the colony. “We have discovered a natural system that has evolved, over millions of years, to reduce the toxic accumulation of atmospheric CO2 in an ant colony,” Currie says. In an effort to counteract global warming, scientists are exploring techniques for transforming atmospheric CO2 into carbonate minerals. “These ants are the first animal shown to be engaging in such a process, offering exciting potential as a model for human efforts,” says Currie. Cody Freas at the University of Toulouse, France, who wasn’t part of the study, describes the ants’ ability to turn CO2 into dolomite as a “remarkable adaptation.” “Individuals take on the role of living carbon scrubbers, turning atmospheric CO2 into a protective mineral armour,” he says. “This two-way solution both helps the ants control their nest atmosphere and create a bioengineered physical defence.” 32.What is the primary purpose of paragraph 2? A.To describe the diet of fungus-farming ants. B.To introduce a central problem that the ants face. C.To compare different species of fungus-farming ants. D.To prove that ant nests are harmful to the environment. 33.How is Sericomyrmex amabilis different from the other fungus-farming ant? A.It acts on its own. B.It eats special fungi. C.It lives underground. D.It works with bacteria. 34.Why does the author mention dolomite’s slow formation? A.To explain why dolomite is valuable. B.To show the ants have beaten nature. C.To highlight how efficient the ants are. D.To prove nature works better than labs. 35.What can be a suitable title for the text? A.Tiny Ants: A Potential Solution to a Giant Problem B.Carbon Capture: Is Symbiotic Bacteria Our Only Hope? C.Dolomite: How Can Fungus-Farming Ants Make Rocks? D.Fungus-Farming Ants: A Surprisingly Complex Lifestyle The violin’s roots can be traced back to Renaissance Italy in the 1500s, where it emerged from earlier string instruments like the rebec and the viola da gamba. These instruments, while simple, laid the foundation for the violin’s eventual form. 36 . During this time, some of the world’s most renowned violin makers — Antonio Stradivari, Giuseppe Guarneri, and Nicolò Amati — perfected their iconic violin designs. Their violins are still celebrated today for their unmatched craftsmanship and legendary sounds. 37 . Antonio Stradivari, in particular, is often regarded as the peak of violin making. His instruments, known as Stradivarius violins, are much prized possessions of musicians. 38 . These violins are not only masterpieces of art but also produce a sound that’s rich, warm, and full of life — a sound that still captures the imagination of musicians and music lovers. As the violin itself evolved, so too did the way it was played. In the late 1700s, French bow (琴弓) maker François Tourte introduced the modern bow, which allowed violinists to play with greater expression and precision. 39 , opening the door to new techniques and sounds. The 19th century saw the rise of skilled violinists like Niccolò Paganini, who became a household name for his extraordinary skill. Paganini’s ability to perform feats of technical brilliance inspired violinists around the world to push the limits of what was possible on the violin. His influence continues to motivate musicians today. In today’s world, the violin is as relevant as ever. It graces concert halls, orchestras, and solo performances around the globe. 40 . Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned player, the violin offers a way to express yourself, connect with others, and experience the joy of music. A.The violin is more than just an instrument B.This was a game-changer for violin playing C.It lives in the hands of everyday people as well D.It continued to hold a special place in the world of music E.The 17th and 18th centuries were a golden age for the violin F.Many modern violin makers still copy their models to this day G.They have been played by some of the greatest violinists in history 第三部分 语言运用(共两节,满分30分) 第一节(共15小题;每小题1分,满分15分) 阅读下面短文,从每题所给的A、B、C、D四个选项中选出最佳选项。 Jane August launched what seemed like a straightforward plan: She would visit every museum in New York City and 41 a short video of each one. She 42 it would take three years at most. But with 136 museums documented since 2021, she still has about 64 to go. She had offered to help paint my new apartment, and I gladly accepted. After all, she had studied art in college and had an eye for color. I trusted her completely. She spent an entire weekend helping me choose the perfect shade of blue for the living room. When she finished the first wall, I stood back to admire her work. The color was beautiful, but it wasn’t what I had imagined. I had pictured something softer, more like the sky at dawn. Without thinking, I said, “It’s lovely, but maybe we should go with something lighter?” The change in her face was immediate. She put down the brush, wiped her hands, and said she needed to leave. I tried to explain, but she just shook her head. “You should have said something earlier,” she said quietly, and walked out the door. I stared at the half-painted wall, feeling confused. I hadn’t meant to hurt her feelings. I had only shared my honest opinion. But the more I thought about it, the more I understood. She had given up her entire weekend for me. She had poured her time and talent into making my home beautiful. And I had responded by telling her it wasn’t good enough. Weeks passed without a word between us. I told myself she was being unreasonable. She was the one who had walked out, after all. But deep down, I knew I had handled things poorly. I had focused on the paint instead of appreciating the person holding the brush. My pride kept me from picking up the phone. Then one evening, I found an old photo of us from childhood. We were building a sandcastle together, both covered in sand, both laughing. That image stayed with me. I realized that our relationship had never been about perfection. It had always been about showing up for each other, even when things got messy. I picked up the phone and dialed her number. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ When I got to the apartment, she was already there. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 试卷第12页,共14页 试卷第13页,共14页 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $2026年高考英语全真模以终极押题卷03(全国二卷) 英语答题卡 姓 名: 缺考 贴条形码区 准考证号 标记 0 0 0 0 1 1 1 注意事项 2 23 2 2 2 2 2 2 2 1. 9 9 9 9 9 9 9 9 9 5.正确填涂■ 选择题(请用2B铅笔填涂) 1 IAlBIICI 6 IAlIBIICI 11【AJIBJIC] 16IA1[B]C] 2 [AJ[B][C] 7 [AJIBJIC] 12 [A][B][C] 17 [AJ[B][C] 3 [A][B][C] 8【A[BI[C] 13【AI[BJIC] 18【AJ[BI[C] 4【AI[BI[CI 9【AJ[BI[CI 14[A1[B1[C] 19[AJ[B1[C] 5 [AJIB]ICI 10 [A][B][C] 15 [A][B][C] 20【AJ[BJIC 21[A1[B][C1LD1 26【AJIB][CIID] 31 [A][B][C][D] 36 [AJ[BJICJ[D][EJ[FJ[G] 22 [AJ[B][C][D] 27【A[BI[C1[D] 32【A1[B][CIID] 37 [AJIB]ICJID][EJ[FJIG] 23 [A]IB]IC][D] 28[A1[B]IC][D] 33【AIIB][CI[D] 38 [AJIB]IC]ID][EJIFJIG] 24 [AJIB]IC]ID] 29【AJ[B][CI[D] 34【A1[BI[C1[DJ 39【A1[BI[CI[D1[E1[F1[G] 25 IAIIBIICIIDI 30【AI[BJ[CIID] 35 [A][B][C][D] 40 [AJ[B]IC][D][EJ[F][G] 41[A][B][C][D] 46IA][B][C][D] 51【A][BJ[C][D] 42【AJ[BI[CIID] 47 [AJ[B]IC][D] 2【A][BJIC][D] 33 [AJIB]IC]ID] 48【AI[BJ[CI[D] 3【AI[BJIC]ID] 阳 第四部分写作(共两节,满分40分) 第一节(满分15分) Dear Mary, Yours, LiHua 第二节(满分25分) I picked up the phone and dialed her number 请在各题目的答题区域内作答,超出黑色矩形边框限定区域的答案无效! 根据第一段中“This project helps kids learn about bee habitats, the importance of pollinators, and biodiversity.(这个项目帮助孩子们了解蜜蜂栖息地、传粉者的重要性以及生物多样性)”可知,该项目面向的是年轻的学习者(孩子们)。 22. 根据Steps第2点中“The tubes should be arranged so that the open ends face outward.(管子应排列成开口朝外)”及第1点中“The bees will go into these tubes, so the tubes should be about half an inch in width.(蜜蜂会进入这些管子,所以管子的宽度应该是半英寸左右)”可知,纸管的开口应保持敞开且可进入。 23. 根据Science Concepts中Ecology部分“Gain insights into the interactions between living organisms and their environment, emphasizing the interconnectedness of ecosystems.(深入了解生物与其环境之间的相互作用,强调生态系统的相互联系)”可知,孩子们能获得的关键生态见解是物种与周围环境之间的联系。 B A lively 73-year-old woman, Anne Goldberg has devoted her life to assisting other elderly people in learning about technology. 根据第一段中的“A new research project is now investigating the cognitive and genetic mechanisms that cause some people to flourish and others to struggle.(一项新的研究项目正在探究认知和遗传机制,解释为何有人面对困境能成长、有人却陷入挣扎。)” 根据第二段中的“Previous research clearly tells us that certain sets of genes may lead people to develop anxiety or depression when they experience negative life events. But the new research finds that, in certain situations, those genes can also be a real benefit to people when they’re in supportive environments. (以往的研究明确表明,当人们遭遇生活中的负面事件时,某些基因组合可能会使人患上焦虑症或抑郁症。但这项新研究发现,在特定环境下,身处充满关怀支持的氛围中时,这些基因也能给人带来实实在在的益处。)”可知,研究人员通过对比不同环境下基因的不同影响,得出关于 “风险基因” 这一结论。 30.细节理解题。根据第三段中的“All of our brains are naturally tuned into negativity for evolutionary reasons — it’s more important to spot a predator (捕食者) than food-but this is especially true for anxious or depressed people. (出于进化层面的原因,所有人的大脑天生就会对负面情绪更为敏感——发现捕食者远比寻找食物更为重要,而这一点在焦虑或抑郁人群身上体现得尤为明显。)”可知,对负面信息敏感源于与生俱来的生存本能模式。 31.推理判断题。根据第四段中的“One of the exciting things is the possibility of developing much more personalized treatment options for psychological disorders.(这项研究有望为心理疾病研发更具个性化的治疗方案。)” D An ant that can turn carbon dioxide in the air into dolomite stone in its outer covering may hold clues to how humans can capture greenhouse gases to prevent climate disaster. D.Fungus-Farming Ants: A Surprisingly Complex Lifestyle 【答案】32.B 33.A 34.C 35.A 【导语】本文介绍了两种切叶蚁能将巢穴中的二氧化碳转化为白云石,用于强化自身外壳并减少有毒气体积累。 根据第二段中“The large density of ants and fungi can result in high concentrations of CO2 inside the nests. (高密度的蚂蚁和真菌会导致巢穴内二氧化碳浓度升高。)”可知,蚂蚁和真菌的大量聚集会导致巢内二氧化碳浓度过高,这是一个需要解决的问题。因此,第二段的主要目的是介绍蚂蚁面临的核心问题。 33.细节理解题。根据第三段中“In 2020, Cameron Currie at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and his colleagues found that the ant species Acromyrmex echinatior puts a carbonate biomineral into its armour through a symbiotic (共生的) relationship with Pseudonocardia bacteria, which turn CO2 into rock using chemical processes that are not yet fully understood. 注意: 1. 续写词数应为 150 个左右; 2. 请按如下格式在答题纸的相应位置作答。 I picked up the phone and dialed her number. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ When I got to the apartment, she was already there. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 【答案】 I picked up the phone and dialed her number. My heart pounded with each ring. I had spent weeks letting pride hold me back, but the old photo of us building a sandcastle kept replaying in my mind. To my relief, she answered. “I’m sorry,” I said. I apologized for being thoughtless. She had given up her whole weekend for me while I only found fault. A long silence followed. Then she admitted she had overreacted too. “Can we try again?” I asked. “Yes,” she said. “I’ll come over tomorrow.” I hung up feeling lighter than I had in weeks. When I got to the apartment, she was already there. She stood before the half-painted wall. She turned and gave me a small smile. “I brought some lighter shades,” she said, holding up color cards. I shook my head. “The blue you chose is beautiful. Let’s keep it.” Her eyes widened, then softened. We picked up our brushes and painted side by side. By the time we finished the wall, our misunderstanding was gone. Some things are worth more than the perfect color. 词汇激活 行为类 ①道歉:apologize/make an apology ②承认:admit/acknowledge ③拿起(工具):pick up /take up 情绪类 ①宽慰:relief/comfort ②欠考虑的:thoughtless/ill-considered 【点睛】【高分句型1】Then she admitted she had overreacted too.
