Danxia Landform is a special kind of landform in China. It is famous for its bright colors and strange shapes. Many people come to visit it every year.
Danxia Landform is formed over millions of years. Long ago, this area was under the sea. After many years of movement of the Earth’s crust (地壳), the sea water disappeared, and the rocks were pushed up. The rocks are mainly red because they contain (含有) iron. Over time, wind and rain erode the rocks, making them into different shapes, such as towers, pillars (柱子) and walls.
Danxia Landform can be found in many places in China, such as Guangdong, Fujian and Gansu. The most famous one is Danxia Mountain in Shaoguan, Guangdong. It covers an area of about 292 square kilometers. There are many beautiful views there, including red rocks, clear rivers and green forests. It is also a home for many rare (珍稀的) plants and animals.

When I was 12 years old, I went on a trip to the forest with my father. It was a sunny day, and we planned to camp there for a night. The forest was very thick, with tall trees and green grass everywhere. I was very excited and ran ahead of my father, enjoying the beautiful view and the fresh air.
But soon, I realized that I was lost. I couldn’t see my father anywhere, and I didn’t know which way to go. I felt scared and started to cry. The forest was quiet, except for the sound of birds and wind. I sat under a big tree and tried to calm down. I remembered what my father told me: “If you get lost in the forest, don’t panic. Find a clear path and follow it, or wait for help.”
I stood up and looked around. I found a narrow path not far from me. It was covered with leaves, but I could see that someone had walked on it before. I decided to follow the path. As I walked, I kept calling my father’s name, but there was no answer. I walked for about an hour, and I started to feel tired and hungry. Just when I was about to give up, I saw a light in the distance. I ran towards it, and I found my father waiting for me near our tent. He was very worried, but he was happy to see me safe.
Later, my father told me that he noticed I was missing soon after I ran ahead. He looked for me everywhere and finally found the path I was following. He said: “The forest is beautiful, but it can also be dangerous. You must always stay with me when we are in the forest.”
