根据全文内容,第一段介绍了亚洲马拉松的整体情况“Asia offers a wide range of marathon events across different countries and regions. These races are held in urban centers as well as in areas of cultural and natural significance.(亚洲在不同国家和地区举办各种各样的马拉松赛事,这些赛事既有在城市中心举办的,也有在具有文化和自然意义的地区举办的)”,表格列出了四场马拉松的具体信息,最后给出参赛注意事项,可知本文旨在提供亚洲马拉松的相关信息。
The Great Wall of China Marathon The Great Wall of China Marathon。
根据Things To Think About中“Make sure that you are making accommodations through reputable sites for travel.(确保你通过信誉良好的旅游网站预订住宿)”可知,建议参赛者在参赛前从可信的网站预订酒店。故选A。
B
Early memories can shape who we become. Sadly, many of my most important childhood moments centered around my struggles with body image.
For most of my life, I have cared a lot about what others think of how I look. Whenever I’m around someone I don’t know well, I actively use body language to make myself appear thinner. When I was in fourth grade, I remember asking my best friend, “Do you think I’m fat?” She replied, “No, of course not.” But her answer didn’t comfort me. Since then, I have been extremely watchful of my body; I realized that the way I see myself isn’t the same as how others see me.
Hearing people talk about weight gain as something bad has affected how I feel about myself. One friend used to tell me I’m on “the good side of plus-sized.” All it does is tell me that I’m overweight. In middle school, I felt like I had to prove to my friends that I was active and healthy. And even today, I worry over normal weight changes, all to try and avoid people sharing their “concerns” with my size.
Discussing body image is difficult. What I have found is that being allowed to speak openly without judgment builds my self-confidence, because I feel that my voice is being heard. I am beginning to listen to my body and understand how it works. I hope to stop overanalyzing and build confidence — not through a number on the scale (体重秤), but through self-acceptance.
4. What does the author realize after talking to her best friend?
A. Her friend truly understood her worries. B. She needed to lose weight immediately.
C. Her self-image differed from others’ views. D. Her appearance was objectively unattractive.
5. How did her friend’s words “the good side of plus-sized” affect the author?
A. It confirmed her fear of being overweight. B. It provided comfort about her appearance.
C. It motivated her to exercise more regularly. D. It helped her to understand body positivity.
6. What is the main message of the passage?
A. Social approval determines personal worth.
B. Childhood experiences cannot be overcome.
C. Weight loss should be the primary health goal.
D. Self-acceptance matters more than appearance.
7. What is the best title for the passage?
A. From Self-Doubt to Self-Acceptance B. The Pain of Growing Up Overweight
C. How Others’ Words Shape Our Self-Image D. Why We Care Too Much About Appearance
C 5. A 6. D 7. A
根据第二段“When I was in fourth grade, I remember asking my best friend, ‘Do you think I’m fat?’ She replied, ‘No, of course not.’ But her answer didn’t comfort me. Since then, I have been extremely watchful of my body; I realized that the way I see myself isn’t the same as how others see me.(四年级时,我问最好的朋友‘你觉得我胖吗’,她回答‘当然不’,但这并没有安慰我。从那以后,我格外关注自己的身材,意识到我对自己的看法和别人对我的看法并不一样。)”可知,作者和好友交谈后意识到自我形象与他人的看法不同。故选C。
【5题详解】
细节理解题。根据第三段“One friend used to tell me I’m on ‘the good side of plus-sized.’ All it does is tell me that I’m overweight.(一个朋友曾说我处于‘大码身材里好看的那一类’,这话只让我觉得自己超重了。)” 故选A。
根据第四段“I hope to stop overanalyzing and build confidence — not through a number on the scale, but through self-acceptance.(我希望停止过度纠结,建立自信,不是通过体重秤上的数字,而是通过自我接纳。)”
通读全文,尤其根据第一段中“Sadly, many of my most important childhood moments centered around my struggles with body image.(可悲的是,我童年的许多重要时刻都是围绕着我与身体形象的斗争展开的。)”以及最后一段“What I have found is that being allowed to speak openly without judgment builds my self-confidence, because I feel that my voice is being heard. I am beginning to listen to my body and understand how it works. I hope to stop overanalyzing and build confidence — not through a number on the scale (体重秤), but through self-acceptance.(我发现,被允许不加评判地畅所欲言可以建立我的自信,因为我觉得我的声音被听到了。我开始倾听我的身体,并理解它是如何工作的。我希望停止过度分析,建立自信——不是通过体重秤上的数字,而是通过自我接受。)”可知,全文围绕作者从因身材焦虑陷入自我怀疑,到逐渐学会接纳自己、建立自信展开,A选项“从自我怀疑到自我接纳”准确概括文章主线,适合作为标题。故选A。
C
Snub-nosed monkey mums are picky (挑剔的) when choosing a caregiver, permitting experienced females to look after their babies more often than young and inexperienced ones.
Many monkeys depend on the help of others when raising their offspring (后代). Now, an accidental discovery by Chun-Yan Cui at the Southwest Forestry University in China and her workmates has shown that a group of black-and-white snub-nosed monkeys in the Baimaxueshan National Nature Reserve in southern China also share caregiving.
“During the breeding (繁殖) season, we saw newborn monkeys being passed around to other monkeys who were not their mothers. These monkeys would clean, carry, and sometimes even nurse the babies,” says Cui. “This reminded us of similar roles in human society, like babysitters, and caused our curiosity.”
They followed the group of monkeys every day for six months during the birth season, recording 416 times in which a female interacted with a mother and her newborn. The researchers also noted the age and reproductive experience of the female, how the mother responded and how many times the baby was passed around.
They found that mothers were more permissive of caregiving attempts by females who already had many offspring, and were more willing to accept this help as their babies got older. However, the young and inexperienced females still got their turn to care for the baby, typically after a more experienced monkey finished her babysitting duties.
More research is needed to understand if this pattern of baby transfer (转移) may change depending on social class or family connections, says Cui. But Lulia Badescu at the University of Montreal in Canada says it is hard to know which behaviors signal an intention to handle a baby. “We don’t know for sure if they’re going through a decision-making process,” she says.
8. What can we infer about the snub-nosed monkeys from the discovery?
A. They prefer individual parenting. B. They compete to care for babies.
C. They work together in raising offspring. D. They dislike helping inexperienced females.
9. What does the study mainly find about snub-nosed monkeys?
A. They have a small social structure.
B. Mothers totally refuse young females as caregivers.
C. Their babies are seldom passed around the group.
D. Experienced mothers take the lead in caregiving.
10. What is Lulia Badescu’s attitude towards the monkeys’ behavior?
A. She is certain about monkeys’ caregiving behavior.
B. She believes monkeys’ behavior is similar to humans’.
C. She doubts whether monkeys have a decision-making process.
D. She thinks more research is needed to study monkeys’ behavior.
11. Where is the text most likely from?
A. A scientific research journal. B. A travel magazine.
C. A children’s literature work. D. A natural science textbook.
C 9. D 10. C 11. A

根据第三段中““During the breeding (繁殖) season, we saw newborn monkeys being passed around to other monkeys who were not their mothers. These monkeys would clean, carry, and sometimes even nurse the babies,” says Cui.(“在繁殖季节,我们观察到新生猴宝宝被传递给非母亲的其他猴子。这些猴子会为宝宝清理身体、抱着它们走动,有时甚至会给它们哺乳,”崔说)”可知,新生幼猴会被群体中其他猴子照顾,说明黑白仰鼻猴共同承担养育责任。
【9题详解】
细节理解题。根据第五段中“They found that mothers were more permissive of caregiving attempts by females who already had many offspring, and were more willing to accept this help as their babies got older.(他们发现,母猴对那些已经养育过多个后代的有经验雌性的看护行为更为宽容,而且随着宝宝逐渐长大,母猴也更愿意接受这种帮助。)”
根据最后一段中“But Lulia Badescu at the University of Montreal in Canada says it is hard to know which behaviors signal an intention to handle a baby. “We don’t know for sure if they’re going through a decision-making process,” she says.(但加拿大蒙特利尔大学的卢利娅·巴德塞库表示,很难判断哪些行为是在表达想要照看宝宝的意图。“我们无法确定它们是否经历了一个决策过程,”她说。)”可知,Lulia认为猴子的行为意图尚不明确,对其是否存在决策过程持怀疑态度。
【11题详解】
推理判断题。通读全文,尤其是第二段中“Now, an accidental discovery by Chun-Yan Cui at the Southwest Forestry University in China and her workmates has shown that a group of black-and-white snub-nosed monkeys in the Baimaxueshan National Nature Reserve in southern China also share caregiving.(如今,中国西南林业大学的崔春燕(音译)及其同事的一项意外发现表明,中国南方白马雪山国家级自然保护区的一群黑白仰鼻猴同样会共同承担照顾幼崽的任务。)”
D
The correct answer to the question “How are you?” is “Not too bad”. Why? Because it’s all-purpose. Whatever the situations, whatever the conditions, “Not too bad” will get you through.
In good times, it shows a reasonable amount of negativity (消极). On an average day, it just gets by with a simple approach. And when things are tough, it becomes a heroic understatement. Best of all, with three equally stressed syllables (音节), it gently forestalls further questions. That is to say, it politely prevents people from asking more.
Americans in particular are small-talk artists. They have to be. This is a wild country. Very thin connections keep people connected to each other. So “Have a nice day!”, “Hot enough for you?”, “How about the movie?” and so on serve an important purpose. Without these gentle small-talk phrases and the momentary social agreement that they represent, the streets would become disorderly, full of troubles and dangers. But that’s the negative view.
Some of the best times I connected with people were quick, short conversations. It’s an extraordinary thing. A stranger is in front of you, and just a simple word can make you feel like you’re diving deep into their inner world. I was out walking the other day when a UPS truck stopped by the side of the road in front of me. As the driver jumped out of his cab (驾驶室) to make a delivery, I heard music coming out of the truck’s speakers. And I knew the song. It’s my favorite song.
“China Cat Sunflower?” I said to the UPS guy as he rushed back to his truck.
A huge smile: “You got it, baby!”
The exchange of energy, the perfect understanding and most of all, the polite and respectful “baby” — I was high as a kite for the next 10 minutes, projected skyward on a wave of small talk.
12. Why is “Not too bad” the correct answer to “How are you?”
A. It is easy to pronounce. B. It is a popular expression.
C. It shows a positive attitude. D. It can be used in various situations.
13. What does the underlined word “forestalls” in paragraph 2 probably mean?
A. Encourages. B. Increases. C. Raises. D. Stops.
14. What is the function of small talk in America according to paragraph 3?
A. It is totally a waste of time. B. It helps maintain social order.
C. It makes the streets crowded. D. It helps people become artists.
15. What is the best title for the text?
A. The Art of Small Talk B. The Power of Music
C. American Greetings D. A Memorable Experience
D 13. D 14. B 15. A
根据第一段“The correct answer to the question “How are you?” is “Not too bad”. Why? Because it’s all-purpose. Whatever the situations, whatever the conditions, “Not too bad” will get you through. (“你好吗?”这个问题的正确答案是“还不错”。为什么?因为它是万能的。无论什么情况,无论什么条件,“还不错”都能让你应付过去。)”可知,“还不错”之所以是回答“你好吗?”的最佳答案,是因为它适用于各种情境。故选D项。
【13题详解】
词句猜测题。根据画线词的下文“That is to say, it politely prevents people from asking more. (也就是说,它能礼貌地避免人们继续追问。)”可知,这个回答能阻止人们进一步问问题,画线词与后文的prevents呼应,意思应该是“阻止”,与Stops“阻止,防止”意思一致。故选D项。
【14题详解】
细节理解题。根据第三段中“Without these gentle small-talk phrases and the momentary social agreement that they represent, the streets would become disorderly, full of troubles and dangers. (如果没有这些温和的闲聊短语以及它们所代表的短暂社交共识,街道就会变得混乱,充满麻烦和危险。)”可知,在美国,闲聊的作用是帮助维持社会秩序。故选B项。
【15题详解】
主旨大意题。通读全文,尤其是第三段中“Americans in particular are small-talk artists. (美国人尤其擅长闲聊的艺术。)”可知,文章围绕闲聊展开,以“还不错”这一万能回答开头,强调闲聊在美国社会中具有重要作用,并通过作者与UPS司机的互动,展现了闲聊带来的积极社交体验。因此,A项“闲聊的艺术”契合文章主旨,最适合作为文章标题。故选A项。
There are lots of exciting ways to sort out your shelves and organize your book collection. We spoke to booksellers Mia Wingfield and Helen Mair from The Alligator’s Mouth children’s bookshop in Richmond, London, about how they plan their shelves and create new arrangements. ____16____ With an organized bookshelf, you’ll be able to spot the things you’re most excited to read next.
Choose a spot.
Whether it’s in a special reading corner or on a bookshelf, it’s a good idea to keep all of your books together in one place. “It’s always inspiring to be surrounded by a mix of old favorites and new titles in a comfortable bookish corner,” says Wingfield. Gather your books together and start sorting. “____17____ Make the most of the space you have available — putting books on top of the shelves can be a good use of space,” says Mair.
Organize your books.
At The Alligator’s Mouth, the shelves are organized in a few different ways — picture books are ordered alphabetically (按字母顺序地) by publisher; novels, poetry and storybooks by the author’s surname; and non-novel books are grouped in themes. “Have fun with it,” says Mair. “____18____”
Present special books.
Mair suggests a simple way to highlight a book on your shelf. ____19____ In other words, the cover should be pointing outwards instead of the spine (书脊). By doing this, you can showcase the book’s story more effectively.
Sort and swap (交换).
____20____ “It’s hard to decide which ones are ready to go to a new home,” says Wingfield, but she adds, “It’s a great way to make way for new favorites and pass on favorites to other readers too.”
A. Not everyone has room for a personal library.
B. Regularly remove books you no longer need or want.
C. This method includes placing a favorite book face-out.
D. You can arrange your books in a way that makes sense to you.
E. Here, they share tips on how to refresh your shelves and enjoy your books.
F. Organizing books by size can make your shelves look surprisingly attractive.
G. Make space for new books by organizing a book exchange with friends or classmates.
E 17. A 18. D 19. C 20. G

前文“We spoke to booksellers Mia Wingfield and Helen Mair from The Alligator’s Mouth children’s bookshop in Richmond, London, about how they plan their shelves and create new arrangements. (我们采访了位于伦敦里士满的The Alligator’s Mouth儿童书店的书商Mia Wingfield和Helen Mair,向他们请教了如何规划书架布局和重新排列书籍的方法)”提到两位书商讨论如何整理书架,后文“With an organized bookshelf, you’ll be able to spot the things you’re most excited to read next. (通过整理好书架,你就能轻松找到接下来最想阅读的书目)”强调整理后的好处,空处需填入过渡句,引出书商的建议,因此E项“Here, they share tips on how to refresh your shelves and enjoy your books. (他们在此分享如何更新书架并享受阅读的建议)”符合语境,承前启后,其中的they指代前文的Mia Wingfield和Helen Mair。故选E。
【17题详解】
后文“Make the most of the space you have available — putting books on top of the shelves can be a good use of space (要充分利用现有的空间——把书放在书架顶上不失为一种很好的空间利用方式)”建议利用有限空间,空处应点明空间限制的现实,因此A项“Not everyone has room for a personal library. (并非所有人都有私人图书馆的空间)”符合语境,引出后文的具体建议。故选A。
前文“At The Alligator’s Mouth, the shelves are organized in a few different ways — picture books are ordered alphabetically (按字母顺序地) by publisher; novels, poetry and storybooks by the author’s surname; and non-novel books are grouped in themes. (在The Alligator’s Mouth书店,书架采用多种分类方式:绘本按出版社字母顺序排列;小说、诗歌和故事书按作者姓氏排序;非小说类书籍则按主题归类)”和“Have fun with it (快乐地整理吧)”列举不同书籍分类方式,并建议享受整理的乐趣,空处需填入鼓励个性化整理的总结句,因此D项“You can arrange your books in a way that makes sense to you. (你可以按自己觉得合理的方式整理书籍)”符合语境,承接前文。故选D。
【19题详解】
前文“Mair suggests a simple way to highlight a book on your shelf. (Mair提出了一个简单的方法来突出书架上的某本书)”提到突出某本书的方法,后文“In other words, the cover should be pointing outwards instead of the spine (书脊). (换句话说,应该让书的封面朝外展示,而不是书脊朝外)”解释封面朝外展示的做法,空处需填入具体操作方法的过渡句,因此C项“This method includes placing a favorite book face-out. (这种方法包括将喜欢的书封面朝外摆放)”符合语境,承接前文,后一句是对其具体说明。故选C。
【20题详解】
本段小标题是“Sort and swap (交换). (分类和交换)”,后文“It’s a great way to make way for new favorites and pass on favorites to other readers too. (如此一来,既能腾出空间收藏新书,又能让心爱的好书流转到其他读者手中)”指出交换书籍的好处,空处应建议与他人交换图书,因此G项“Make space for new books by organizing a book exchange with friends or classmates. (通过与朋友或同学组织书籍交换来为新书腾出空间)”符合语境,呼应标题,引出后文。故选G。

47. 阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。
As a high school freshman, Lena had always been confident in her studies — until she met math. In her first math class, Mr. Carter wrote a series of expressions on the blackboard. While most of her classmates nodded and took notes, Lena felt as if she were listening to a “foreign language”. The symbols “x” and “y” danced before her eyes, and she couldn’t follow the steps Mr. Carter explained.
The confusion only grew when she sat down to do her homework. For two hours she remained at her desk, staring at the textbook and the blank pages of her notebook. Every problem seemed unsolvable. She read the same question at least ten times, yet she still couldn’t work it out. Upset and ashamed, she never felt so stuck in a subject.
Weeks passed, and Lena’s anxiety about math got worse. She was afraid to raise her hand in class, worried that her questions would sound stupid. One day, Mr. Carter randomly called on her to answer a question. Lena stood up, her face burning with embarrassment for she was totally clueless about the answer. “Even a primary student knows that!” a boy named Jax sneered (嘲讽) loudly. Lena bit her lip and sank back into her seat with her head hanging low. Soon the first math exam took place. It came as no surprise that Lena got a bright red “D” on her paper. Tears welled in her eyes as she balled up the paper and stuffed it into her bag.
Seeing this, Mr. Carter asked Lena to stay after class. Instead of criticizing her, he said gently, “I notice you’ve been struggling, Lena. Math can be tough at first. Like learning to play a musical instrument, it requires the right method and consistent practice.” He told Lena that he had talked to Zoe, the top math student in the class, who agreed to help her. The next day, Mr. Carter rearranged the seats, and Zoe became Lena’s new deskmate.

(1)续写词数应为150个左右;

Each afternoon, the two girls sat side by side, diving into math together.
________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
The results of the final math exam came out.
________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Each afternoon, the two girls sat side by side, diving into math together. Zoe never laughed at Lena’s slow progress or silly questions. Instead, she explained each problem patiently, drawing pictures to make difficult concepts easier to understand. When Lena got stuck, Zoe encouraged her to try again, breaking down steps until she got it right. Lena also worked hard, taking detailed notes and practicing extra problems every night. Gradually, the “foreign language” of math became familiar, and she even started to feel a little excited when solving a tough question. Jax’s sneers faded, replaced by his surprised glances at Lena’s growing confidence.
The results of the final math exam came out. Lena’s hands shook as she picked up her paper, and a bright smile spread across her face when she saw a solid “B”. Tears of joy welled in her eyes — she had finally overcome her fear of math. She ran to thank Zoe, who hugged her happily, and then found Mr. Carter to share the good news. He patted her shoulder proudly, saying her hard work had paid off. Lena realized that with kindness, encouragement and perseverance, no difficulty was insurmountable.
