Family rules help children to learn what is or isn’t OK in the family. Following them can also help children learn to follow rules in other places. So it’s not good for you to make rules too late.
As parents, when you make family rules, talk about them with your children. They will be happy.
Good family rules are easy for children to understand. For example, if you want your children to go to bed early, the rule like “Go to bed before nine o’clock.” will be good. But “ ” won’t. And good family rules tell children what to do instead of what not to do. For example, “Keep your room tidy!” is good. “Don’t put your things everywhere!” isn’t good.
People forget things easily, so it’s good to write down the rules and put them somewhere everyone can see.
There are times when family rules need to change. For example, when your children get older, you can make rules about helping with housework. It’s also good to let your children make changes to the rules with you.

In the small villages of Kenya, Africa, most kids love to read books. But there are no roads leading to their homes—only miles and miles of sand (沙子). Cars and trucks can’t drive on the sand, so they are useless here. How do library books get to the kids? They come on the backs of camels (骆驼)! Camels are strong and can easily walk through the sand with books. Each time, two camels, a driver, and a librarian travel to the villages. One camel carries about 180 kilos of books, and the other carries a tent (帐篷). When they reach a village, the librarian sets up the tent and shows the books inside. After two weeks, the camels come back with new books for the kids to read.
In northern Thailand, some people live on mountains and in jungles (丛林). Roads are hard to build here, so their “libraries” are carried by elephants. These big animals are perfect for the difficult journey—they can walk through paths easily. Because elephants are large, they can carry heavy books in metal (金属的) boxes. The metal boxes keep the books safe from the heavy rains that often fall in this area.
Indonesia has a different problem. This country has more than 17,000 islands. Most people travel by boat, and library books do too! There are special wooden library boats that hold about 500 books in boxes. The workers leave the boxes of books in villages. A few weeks later, they come back to swap (交换) the old books for new ones.
For people who live in faraway areas and can’t get to a library, these “moving libraries” bring more than just books. They open up a whole world of information and stories!
26.Why do camels send library books to some villages in Kenya?

A.They just bring people something to read.
B.They can bring people some books to change.
C.They can help people face the challenges bravely.
D.They bring people not only books but a whole world.
29.What can we learn from this passage?
A.All libraries are buildings.
B.Camels and elephants are large.
C.Boats work best for sending library books.
D.Reading is important to people around the world.

The man asked, “What if I set you free, but you don’t tell me anything?”
The bird replied, “I’ll tell you the first one when I’m still in your hands. If you find it valuable, you may then set me free. I’ll share the second when I sit in that tree. The third will be told to you only after I fly into the sky.”
The man agreed, and the bird said, “I have seen people who stay unhappy because they cannot forget the past. And I have seen people full of joy because they forget what is gone and live fully in the present.”
Feeling its value, the man let the bird go. Then the bird sat in the tree and said, “Never believe anything that goes against logic (逻辑) or common sense.” After that, the bird flew into the sky and shouted, “Here’s a piece of news: there were two valuable diamonds (钻石) inside me.”
The man was deeply sad and upset. “Alright, but at least tell me the third principle!” he begged (乞求).
