Step 1. Lead-in
Review the book discussions from the previous lessons.

Step 2. Presentation: Grammar Focus (4a)
Have students read the sentences in 4a and underline the present perfect forms of the verbs.
Explain the structure: have/has + past participle.
Explain the meaning of the adverbs.
Step 3. Practice
Activity 4b: Complete conversations
Have students complete the conversations in 4b with ever, never, just, already, or yet.
Activity 4c: Complete the passage
Have students complete the passage in 4c with the simple past or present perfect forms of the verbs in brackets.
Check answers and explain the difference between simple past (completed actions at a specific time) and present perfect (actions that affect the present).
Step 4. Production
Activity 4d: Interview your classmates
Divide students into pairs. Have students use the prompts in 4d to interview their classmates.
