Ⅳ. 阅读表达(本题10小题,共25分)
A
阅读下面短文,完成36至39小题。(共12分)
Is growing up painful? For most teenagers, the answer is yes. We often face failures, arguments or pressure. However, in the eyes of wise people, pains are not just sufferings (苦难), but fertilizers (肥料) for growth.
I once read a story about a famous scientist. He failed hundreds of times before inventing the light bulb (灯泡). When asked how he felt about those failures, he said, “I didn’t fail. I just found 1,000 ways that wouldn’t work.” This sentence deeply touched me. It taught me that failure is a stepping stone, not a dead end.
In our daily life, many students give up easily when they meet a hard math problem or get a low score. They see pains as barriers (阻碍). But in fact, every pain is a lesson. It helps us find our weaknesses and push ourselves to improve. Only by facing pains bravely can we gain the ability to solve bigger problems in the future.
To sum up, growing up is a process of fighting against pains. We should cherish (珍惜) each “pain” because it is a sign that we are becoming stronger and wiser.
36.Find a phrase in the passage to replace “stop trying because of difficulties”.
37.Why does the writer tell the scientist’s story in Paragraph 2?
38.What can we get if we face difficulties bravely according to Paragraph 3?
39.Please share a short personal experience to show that “pains are not just sufferings, but fertilizers for growth.” (about 30-40 words)
