Hamlet is a tragedy written by William Shakespeare. Prince Hamlet takes revenge on his uncle, Claudius, who has murdered the king, Hamlet’s father, stepped up to the throne[θroʊn] and married Hamlet’s mother. The well-known line is “To be, or not to be: that’s the question”...
Peking Opera
1. An ancient performance art with a history of 200 years, has four kinds of roles according to different identities and personalities, which are Sheng Dan Jing Chou.
It combines music, vocal [ˈvoʊk(ə)l](歌唱的)performance, mime (哑剧), dance and acrobatics [ˌækrəˈbætɪks](杂技); The form was extremely popular in the Qing Dynasty and has come to be regarded as one of the cultural treasures of China.
2. Traditional Chinese musical instruments include jinghu and erhu and yueqin.
3. The colors of facial make-up are rich; the costumes are graceful(优雅的)and brilliant in color and design. They both tell a character’s sex and status.
4. Stages are square platforms exposed to the audience on three sides with very few props (道具) on the stage.
5. The basic skills of Peking Opera include dance movements and special acrobatic movements while singing or reciting(背诵,吟诵).
