阅读下列短文,从每题所给的 A、B、C 、 D 四个选项中选出最佳选项。

Should you really trust health advice from an AI chatbot?
For the past year, Abi has been using ChatGPT to help manage her health. The appeal is clear: it is always ready to answer questions when it is hard to see a doctor, and AI has passed some medical exams. But are chatbots reliable, or are they dangerously wrong?
Abi, who suffers from health anxiety, finds AI gives more tailored advice than Internet searches. Once, AI correctly advised her to see a pharmacist for a urinary tract infection, and she got the medicine she needed. However, when she hurt her back during a hike, ChatGPT wrongly told her she had punctured an organ and needed immediate emergency care, which turned out to be a false alarm.
Experts and researchers are worried. England’s Chief Medical Officer Chris Whitty says AI answers are often “confident and wrong”. Oxford University research found chatbots were 95% accurate when given full information, but accuracy dropped to 35% in real-life conversations, because people provide information gradually and incompletely. In one stroke case, AI even suggested bed rest for a life-threatening condition.
Other studies also show over half of AI health answers are problematic. When asked about fake cancer treatments, some chatbots suggested misleading natural therapies. Though AI develops fast, experts warn it only predicts text by language patterns and cannot replace professional doctors. OpenAI also states ChatGPT is for information only, not medical advice.
Abi still uses AI but reminds people to take its advice with a pinch of salt and never fully trust it.
1. What happened to Abi when she hurt her back?
A. AI gave her correct and timely treatment.
B. AI made a wrong and dangerous judgment.
C. She was seriously ill and sent to hospital.
D. She refused to use AI for health advice.
2. Why do chatbots become less accurate in real-life use?
A. People do not provide complete information.
B. The technology is developing too slowly.
C. AI is designed to offer fun answers only.
D. Doctors refuse to cooperate with AI companies.
3. What is the writer’s purpose in writing the text?
A. To praise the rapid progress of AI technology.
B. To teach people how to use AI for medical treatment.
C. To remind readers not to fully trust AI health advice.
D. To encourage companies to improve AI chatbots.

In a story that feels straight out of a film, seven pet dogs in China have captured hearts online after escaping alleged thieves and finding their way back home, together.
The incident took place in Jilin province, where the dogs were reportedly stolen from three households in the same village, possibly for the illegal dog meat trade. But the dogs managed to break free from a moving transport truck on the highway and began a journey of nearly 17 kilometres over two days. They travelled across highways and fields without separating.
A video of the dogs walking in formation along a busy road first spread online on March 16. A Corgi appeared to lead the group from the front, often turning back to check on the others. A Golden Retriever walked along the edge like a guard, while an injured German Shepherd limped in the centre, surrounded and protected by the team.
A passer-by called Lu tried to guide them to safety and shared the video on Douyin, calling for more help. As the video went viral, volunteers joined in, using drones to follow the dogs and ensure their safe return. By March 19, all seven dogs were back with their owners.
The heart-warming story soon received more than 230 million views in China and won wide attention across the world. It reminds people of the loyalty, courage and deep friendship that animals have, not just with humans but also among themselves. Meanwhile, it also draws public attention to the problem of pet theft in some areas.
4. What made the seven dogs’ story extraordinary?
A. They were sold for the dog meat trade.
B. They escaped and walked 17km home together.
C. They were saved by volunteers on the highway.
D. They were well trained to travel in formation.
5. Which word can best describe the dogs’ trip back home?
A. Relaxing. B. Hopeless.
C. Dangerous. D. Boring.
6. Why did the video of the dogs become so popular?
A. It showed the dogs’ unity and deep bond.
B. It was recorded by a famous online influencer.
C. It taught people how to protect lost pets.
D. It solved the problem of pet theft completely.
7. What is the best title for the text?
A. Pet Theft in China Needs More Attention.
B. A Warm Video Recorded by a Kind Passer-by.
C. Seven Dogs Win Hearts by Walking 17km Home.
D. Volunteers Help Lost Dogs Return to Their Owners.

Dozens of Chinese-made humanoid robots (人形机器人) showed off their fast-improving athleticism (运动能力) and autonomous navigation skills in a half-marathon in Beijing on Sunday. They ran past human runners, showing rapid technical progress in robotics.
The inaugural race last year was full of mishaps (意外事故), and most robots failed to finish. The best robot finished in 2 hours 40 minutes, much slower than human winners.
This year was totally different. Participating teams rose from 20 to over 100. Several top robots ran faster than professional athletes, beating human champions by over 10 minutes. Nearly half the robots finished the 21-km race autonomously instead of by remote control. Robots and 12,000 runners used parallel tracks to stay safe.
The winning robot developed by Honor finished in 50 minutes 26 seconds, faster than the human half-marathon world record. Honor took the top three places. The robot has long legs and liquid cooling technology.
Experts said the robot industry is still in a nascent stage. The skills look exciting but need more real industrial uses. China is making policies to support robotics and become a global powerhouse in this field.
8. What is the main idea of the passage?
A. Human runners are much faster than humanoid robots.
B. Chinese humanoid robots made amazing progress in the race.
C. All robots could finish the race easily last year.
D. The robot race has been widely used in industry.
9. Which company created the champion robot?
A. Honor. B. Huawei.
C. CCTV. D. Unitree.
10. What is TRUE about this year’s race?
A. Only 20 teams joined the competition.
B. The winning robot broke the human world record.
C. Most robots were controlled by remote control.
D. Robots and humans ran on the same track.
11. What can we infer from experts’ opinion?
A. The robot industry is still in the early stage.
B. Robots can fully replace workers now.
C. The skills shown are enough for wide industrial use.
D. China gives no support to the robot industry.

Deception (欺骗) is often considered a complex behavior that needs developed language skills and deep understanding of others’thoughts. However, new research has revealed a surprising truth: some babies are able to perform simple forms of deception even before their first birthday.
The study, based on interviews with parents of 750 children aged 0 to 47 months across the UK, the US, Australia and Canada, shows that about a quarter of 10-month-old babies engage in rudimentary (基础的,初级的) deception. They may pretend not to hear parents, hide toys or eat forbidden foods when not watched. These early forms are not sophisticated (复杂的,高级的) lies; they are mostly used to avoid punishment or get rewards.
Researchers also drew inspiration from animal behavior. Chimpanzees hide to eat food away from dominant members, and some birds give false alarm calls to steal food. This suggests the ability to deceive does not suddenly appear at age three or four. It exists from early infancy (婴儿期).
As children grow, their deception develops rapidly. From age two, it is mainly action-based, such as pretending not to hear orders or denying wrongdoings. By age three, children become more proficient and creative. They use better language to tell full lies, hide information, or even fabricate unreal stories.
Experts say parents need not worry. Early deception is a normal part of child development, showing that kids are growing to understand others’ minds. Studying this can help adults know children’s behavior better and guide them properly.
12. What is the main finding of the new research?
A. Deception is a bad behavior that must be corrected early.
B. Some babies can use simple deception before one year old.
C. Animal deception is completely different from human deception.
D. Children under three hardly tell lies or hide facts.
13. Why do young babies perform rudimentary deception?
A. To show their language ability.
B. To avoid punishment or get rewards.
C. To train their body movements.
D. To make friends with parents.
14. What can we learn about children’s deception from paragraph 4?
A. It becomes more creative as children grow older.
B. It disappears completely after age three.
C. It has nothing to do with language development.
D. It remains action-based at age three.
15. What is experts’ attitude towards children’s early deception?
A. Worried. B. Doubtful.
C. Relaxed. D. Uninterested.
第二节 (共5小题;每小题2.5分,满分12.5分)
阅读下面短文,从短文后的选项中选出可以填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有两项多余选项。
Some say you can tell a lot about a person by the way they decorate their home. We often find pleasure in the things we stick in our houses, be it trinkets (小装饰品) we bought on holiday, film memorabilia or paintings to liven up walls. ____16____ And while many of us have plenty of stuff, there are always people who go that little bit further. So, when it comes to minimalism and maximalism, which one appeals to you more?
Minimalism was an art movement that started in the 1950s. Its basic principles are derived from a concept of “less is more” — reducing things back to their most basic. ____17____ Ideas of vast open spaces with an organised and functional structure may spring to mind. They are usually decorated in simple pastel colours (浅淡色调), with many minimalists opting for duotone, often just black and white. ____18____ However, living in this way is seen by many as more practical.
Maximalism is the opposite of minimalism and started in the 1970s. It embraces the core ideals that “more is more”. While minimalism centres around the principle of decluttering (整理,精简), it’s easy to imagine that a maximalist home is overflowing with items — but that’s not the base idea. ____19____ Structured excess and bold colours combined with mixed patterns is what you will see in a home like this. For a minimalist, used to more simplistic designs, it could be overwhelming. But for those who embrace it, those things give a space personality.
____20____ But, if you opt for maximalism, you may need to prepare for a bit more dusting.
A. The way you have your home is up to you!
B. Some people took that art style and used it as a way of living.
C. For some, it may seem sparse and even boring to live without many things.
D. Home decoration has become one of the most popular topics among young people.
E. It’s more about filling the space and making the most of the area in a creative way.
F. The style of decoration usually shows a person’s personality and life preferences.
G. Minimalism has been widely accepted as the best way to improve life quality.

The only survivor of a shipwreck was washed up on a small, uninhabited island, his body battered by the rough waves and his clothes torn to rags. When he regained consciousness, he looked around in despair—endless blue sea surrounded the tiny island, with nothing but dry sand, scattered rocks and a few twisted palm trees in the distance. He prayed feverishly for God to rescue him. Every day at dawn, he would climb to the highest rock on the island, squinting his eyes to scan the distant horizon, hoping to catch a glimpse of a ship or a signal of help. But day after day, the sea remained calm and empty, and no sign of rescue seemed forthcoming, leaving him with only deep loneliness and growing hopelessness.
Exhausted both physically and mentally, he knew he couldn’t give up if he wanted to survive. He dragged his weak body to the shore, where he collected pieces of driftwood that had been washed ashore by the tide. He spent three whole days building a little hut. Inside the hut, he placed his few possessions—a crumpled blanket he had found on the beach, a small metal cup that had floated from the wreck, and a handful of dried fruit he had managed to gather. It was a humble shelter, but it was his only home on the desolate island, a tiny ray of hope in his desperate situation.
But then one day, after spending hours scavenging for food, he arrived home, tired but relieved to have found enough to eat for another day. However, the sight before him made his blood run cold: his little hut was engulfed in flames, the orange fire dancing wildly, and thick black smoke rolling up to the sky, darkening the bright afternoon sun. The heat was so intense that he had to step back, and he could smell the burning wood and the faint scent of his blanket turning to ash.
The worst had happened: everything was lost. His shelter, his few precious belongings—all gone in a matter of minutes. He stood there, stunned with grief and anger, his legs going weak. He fell to his knees, pounding the sand with his fists, and let out a heart-wrenching cry: "God, how could you do this to me! I’ve prayed so hard, I’ve tried so hard to survive—why do you take everything away from me?" His voice echoed across the empty island, but there was no answer, only the crackling of the fire and the sound of the waves crashing against the shore.
注意:
1. 续写词数应为150 个左右;
2. 请按如下格式在答题卡的相应位置作答。
As the fire died down, he sat in the ashes, staring blankly at the charred wood.

【答案】12. B 13. B 14. A 15. C

Dear Caroline,
In your last letter, you asked why Chinese people attach so much importance to the Spring Festival. I’m writing to tell you something about it.
As one of the most important traditional Chinese festivals, the Spring Festival stands for family reunion and carries our rich cultural heritage. No matter where we are or how far away from home, we will try our best to return and gather with our families. Before the festival, streets and stores are always full of cheerful people. On New Year’s Eve, we sit together, enjoying a big reunion dinner and watching the Spring Festival Gala.
I sincerely hope you can come to China and experience the Spring Festival in person.
Yours sincerely,
Li Hua

47. 阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成 一篇完整的短文。

【答案】One possible version:
As the fire died down, he sat in the ashes, staring blankly at the charred wood. Just as he was about to sink into complete despair, a faint sound of a ship’s horn drifted from the distance. He jumped up, rubbing his eyes in disbelief, and saw a small rescue ship approaching. The sailors told him they had spotted the thick smoke from the fire and come to check. At that moment, he realized the fire that had destroyed his home was the very signal that saved his life.
Later, back in his hometown, he often told this story. He realized that life’s misfortunes are never just misfortunes—they may be hidden blessings in disguise. Every loss, every setback, carries a silver lining. It is not God who abandons us, but we who fail to see the hope behind despair. True strength lies in not giving up when all seems lost, for the darkest moment is always before the dawn.
