①AI is playing an increasingly important role in modern school education. As useful and smart learning tools, AI study helpers are becoming widely popular with teachers and students. They can help improve both learning and teaching in different ways.
②For students, AI study helpers follow their whole learning process, recording their homework and exercising results. By collecting and studying learning data (数据), they can point out students’ weak points and mistakes early.

They guide students to think and solve problems independently instead of offering answers directly. In this way, students can not only improve their knowledge but also develop important learning skills.
③AI study helpers make teaching more scientific and effective. With clear reports and detailed information, teachers can better understand each student’s progress and give more targeted guidance (针对性指导). They can also help design more proper lessons and activities to meet different students’ needs.

Passage C
Ralph Waldo Emerson once said that the purpose of life is not to be happy, but to be useful, to be loving, to make some difference in the world. While we appreciate such words of wisdom, we rarely try to follow them in our lives.
Most people prefer to live a good life themselves, ignoring their responsibilities for the world. This narrow view of a good life may provide short-term benefits, but is sure to lead to long-term harm and suffering. A good life based on comfort and luxury may eventually lead to more pain because we spoil our health and even our character, principles, ideals, and relationships.
What then, is the secret of a good life? A good life is a process, not a state of being; a direction, not a destination. We have to earn a good life by first serving others without any expectation in return because their happiness is the very source of our own happiness. More importantly, we must know ourselves inside out. Only when we examine ourselves deeply can we discover our abilities and recognize our limitations, and then work accordingly to create a better world.
The first requirement for a good life is having a loving heart. When we do certain right things merely as a duty, we find our job so tiresome that we’ll soon burn out. However, when we do that same job out of love, we not only enjoy what we do, but also do it with an effortless feeling.
However, love alone is insufficient to lead a good life. Love sometimes blinds us to the reality. Consequently, our good intentions may not lead to good results. To achieve desired outcome, those who want to do good to others also need to equip themselves with accurate world knowledge. False knowledge is more dangerous than ignorance. If love is the engine of a car, knowledge is the steering wheel (方向盘). If the engine lacks power, the car can’t move; if the driver loses control of the steering, a road accident probably occurs. Only with love in heart and the right knowledge in mind can we lead a good life.
With love and knowledge, we go all out to create a better world by doing good to others. When we see the impact of our good work on the world, we give meaning to our life and earn lasting joy and happiness.
9.According to the author, how can one gain true happiness?
A.Through maintaining good health. B.By going through pain and suffering.
C.By recognizing one’s abilities and limitations. D.By offering much-needed help to others.
10.According to Paragraph 4, doing certain right things with a loving heart makes one ________.
A.less selfish B.less annoying C.more motivated D.more responsible
11.In what case may good intentions fail to lead to desired results?
A.When we have wrong knowledge of the world. B.When our love for the world is insufficient.
C.When we are insensitive to dangers in life. D.When we stay blind to the reality.
12.According to Paragraph 5, life can be made truly good when ________.
A.inspired by love and guided by knowledge B.directed by love and pushed by knowledge
C.purified by love and enriched by knowledge D.changed by love and defined by knowledge
【答案】9.D 10.C 11.D 12.A

10.第四段指出,出于责任做事会让人疲惫倦怠,而“do that same job out of love, we not only enjoy what we do, but also do it with an effortless feeling”,说明心怀爱意做事时,人会更有动力、充满热情,对应更具积极性。
11.第五段“Love sometimes blinds us to the reality. Consequently, our good intentions may not lead to good results.”可知,当爱让我们对现实视而不见(stay blind to the reality)时,即便初衷是善意的,也可能无法达成理想的结果。
12.第五段用比喻说明“love is the engine of a car, knowledge is the steering wheel”,并总结“Only with love in heart and the right knowledge in mind can we lead a good life”,即以爱为动力、以知识为指引。

You have probably seen funny videos of cats acting scared in the bath. Most cats really do not like getting wet. But why is that? Here are a few simple reasons.
Most cats come from dry lands.
Long ago, the wild cousins of our pet cats lived in dry places like deserts. They hunted small animals on the land and did not need to swim in lakes. Today’s house cats still act a lot like those wild cats. 17
Wet fur (皮毛) feels bad and cold.
A cat’s fur cannot keep out water like a duck’s feathers. When it gets wet, the fur becomes very heavy and can take hours to dry. 18 Cats are usually smaller than dogs and like to stay warm, so they really dislike this cold, heavy feeling.
19
Cats are excellent self-cleaners! They use their rough tongues to wash their fur for many hours each day. Because they do this job so well, they almost never need a bath from people. To a cat, a bath is both scary and unnecessary.
But some types of cats are the opposite! 20 They might play with a running tap or even enjoy a quick swim. So if you meet a cat that likes water, it might just have a special personality!
A.Cats keep themselves very clean.
B.A bath is a sign of danger to them.
C.They are very curious about water.
D.For them, water is not a normal part of life.
E.This feels uncomfortable and makes the cat feel cold.

17.根据上文“Long ago, the wild cousins of our pet cats lived in dry places like deserts.”以及“Today’s house cats still act a lot like those wild cats.”可知,本段主要讲述猫的祖先生活在干燥的地方,不需要游泳。选项D“For them, water is not a normal part of life.”承接上文,解释了为什么它们不像需要水的动物那样习惯水,符合语境。
18.根据上文“When it gets wet, the fur becomes very heavy and can take hours to dry.”以及下文“Cats are usually smaller than dogs and like to stay warm, so they really dislike this cold, heavy feeling.”可知,此处应该填入描述这种“沉重且难干”的感觉带来的后果。选项E “This feels uncomfortable and makes the cat feel cold.”正好承接上文描述皮毛湿后的状态,并引出下文猫不喜欢这种感觉的原因。
19.此处位于段首,通常是该段的小标题或主题句。根据下文“Cats are excellent self-cleaners! They use their rough tongues to wash their fur for many hours each day.”可知,本段主要讲述猫会自己清洁自己。选项A “Cats keep themselves very clean.”概括了本段的主旨,符合题意。
20.根据上文“But some types of cats are the opposite!”以及下文“They might play with a running tap or even enjoy a quick swim.”可知,此处是在描述那些不讨厌水的猫的特性。选项C “They are very curious about water.”

You don’t have to give up sugar or run a marathon to see real changes in your health and happiness. Instead, science supports a “start small” way. Small actions that are done regularly are what create long-lasting changes.
The secret? It’s not willpower. It’s not even goals. The best way to turn a small change into a powerful habit is not to focus on your motivation (动力), your reasons for doing it, or your long-term goals.
That is what everyone thinks, but research has shown that making small changes to the environment, the situation in which you perform the behavior, is far more powerful. Goals aren’t bad; they certainly have a purpose, but “motivation” only lasts for so long. Habits need to be two things to stick to: easy and enjoyable.
For example, do you think your goal of getting back into the jeans you wore two years ago will encourage you to hit the gym every day? Probably not. What will, then? Choosing a gym that is close to your house, preferably less than 5 kilometers away, is the most important consideration for keeping a regular exercise habit, according to our research. Even better if you are doing an activity you really enjoy or meeting a good friend there.
The best part is that once these tiny changes take root (扎根), they add up to better sleep, stronger bodies, calmer feelings and a clearer mind.
Just as small drops make a big ocean, small, regular habits can lead to great health improvements. As a result, these changes are more likely to last because they come from doing the same things again and again, not from a short time of hard work.
Start now by choosing one or two of these small habits that suit you. Once you feel confident with these, add similar habits for even greater benefits.
Instead of trying to change everything or forcing yourself to do something you hate, focus on two questions: How can I make it easy to do? And how can I make it enjoyable? That’s how you change your life, one small change at a time.
41.What can create long-lasting changes?
42.What kind of habits are easy to stick to?
43.Why are these changes likely to last?
44.What small habit do you have for better health or daily life, and why does it work for you? (Please give two reasons.)
【答案】41.Small actions that are done regularly. 42.Habits that are easy and enjoyable. 43.Because they come from doing the same things again and again, not from a short time of hard work. 44.I have a habit of taking a 10-minute walk every night. First, it is easy to stick to because it doesn’t take much time and I can walk in the park near my home. Second, I enjoy listening to light music while walking, which makes the activity relaxing and fun for me.

To bring back that delicious memory, I plan to learn how to make beef noodles from her. Next weekend, we’ll cook together and share this heartwarming dish with the whole family.
