2.图片中指出:“Snowflakes falling in these two patterns may melt (融化) into rain or bring light snow.”,呈直线或之字形排列的雪花可能会带来降雨或小雪。
3.第一段指出:“By watching how they ‘dance’, we can tell what the weather will be like.”,说明文章主旨是通过雪花的飘落姿态判断天气。

Passage B
William used to be a kid who seldom expressed his true thoughts. He always agreed with everything his friends said.
One day, they discussed whether middle school students should bring their phones to school. His friends all thought they should, but William didn’t agree. However, because he didn’t have the courage to speak out his mind, he chose to agree with them. But this made him feel very uncomfortable.
That night he told his mom, “I just can’t tell people what I really think or want. It is too difficult.”
“Can’t or don’t want to?” Mom asked.
“I’m just afraid to be different,” answered William.
His mom smiled and handed him The Analects of Confucius (《论语》). William didn’t know what his mom meant. However, he started reading it every night. One day, he read the sentence, “Gentlemen have peace but disagree; flunkies (小人) agree but have no peace.” Puzzled (困惑的), he asked his mom.
“It means gentlemen achieve harmony (和谐), but they don’t just blindly agree with others. They have their own ideas, and they can tell the truth bravely. Flunkies agree easily, but they don’t really work together,” his mom explained.
Suddenly, William realized that having different ideas was not bad. He decided to be brave enough to express his own thoughts. To his surprise, he found that the friendship had become even stronger!
5.Why did William feel uncomfortable?
A.Because he lost his friends.
B.Because he always forced himself to agree.
C.Because he had a fight with his friends.
D.Because his friends didn’t listen to him.
6.What does the underlined “It” refer to?
A.Bringing phones to school. B.Telling people about his own opinion.
C.Agreeing with his friends. D.Refusing to follow others.
7.What is the meaning of the underlined sentence in the text?
8.What can we learn from the story?
A.Silence is gold.
B.Following rules is important.
C.Having different ideas is bad for friendship.
D.Expressing true thoughts is necessary.
5.第二段提到“However, because he didn’t have the courage to speak out his mind, he chose to agree with them. But this made him feel very uncomfortable.”
6.第三段William对妈妈说:“I just can’t tell people what I really think or want. It is too difficult.”句中的“It”指代的是前文中的“tell people what I really think or want”,也就是表达自己的观点。
7.文中划线句子“Gentlemen have peace but disagree, flunkies agree but have no peace.”
To his surprise, he found that the friendship had become even stronger!”
Passage C
①To fly high into space, Chinese astronauts are practicing their skills by going underground.
②This past winter, a cave in the mountains of Wulong district, Chongqing, held China’s first astronaut cave-training program, reported Xinhua. The astronauts were put into four groups. Each group stayed in the cave for six days and five nights, working on tasks like scientific research and life support.
③Caves are similar to space in many ways. For example, astronauts are cut off from the outside world and have little room to move. These conditions can be copied at usual training grounds, but a natural cave offers the best experience, said Beijing Daily.
④Cold (only about 8℃) and wet, the cave is full of narrow passages (通道) and steep (陡峭的) walls. With falling stones and the risk of getting lost, astronauts face sudden physical dangers, which train them to stay calm and think fast.
⑤The training also makes astronauts stronger in mind. Jiang Yuan, who helped train the astronauts, shared the stress she felt when she tried the program herself. “The biggest challenge for me was the darkness,” Jiang told Xinhua. “My movements slowed and my memory got fuzzy—once I checked the rope three times but I still couldn’t remember if I had already tied it.” Astronaut Zhu Yangzhu pointed out the strange silence, just like in space. “We could hear our own heartbeat and breath,” he told CGTN.
⑥The European Space Agency (ESA) began developing cave training in 2005. “Compared to the European training, our support team got in the way as little as possible,” Ye Guangfu, one of the astronauts in the Chongqing program, told Xinhua. “This lets astronauts trust themselves and solve problems on their own.”
9.What’s Paragraph ③ mainly about?
A.Differences between caves and space.
B.Challenges of the cave training.
C.Reasons for choosing caves for training.
D.Ways of training in the natural cave.
10.What does the underlined word “fuzzy” mean in English?
A.Unclear. B.Strong. C.Quick. D.Fresh.
11.Compared to the European training, China’s cave training ________.
A.has a much longer history B.depends less on the support team
C.offers better working conditions D.focuses more on scientific research
12.What can be the best title for the text?
A.Finding fun in natural caves B.China’s first space-training program
C.Cave training for flying high D.An unforgettable cave-training experience
【答案】9.C 10.A 11.B 12.C
9.文章第三段第一句“Caves are similar to space in many ways.”
10.文章第五段第四句“My movements slowed and my memory got fuzzy—once I checked the rope three times but I still couldn’t remember if I had already tied it.”
11.文章第六段第二句“Compared to the European training, our support team got in the way as little as possible”指出,与欧洲训练相比,中国的洞穴训练更少依赖保障团队。
12.文章第一段“To fly high into space, Chinese astronauts are practicing their skills by going underground.”
Passage D
No matter who we are, where we are, or what we do, we cannot live without water. It is the source (源泉) of all life and we need it every day. But in truth we’re facing serious water problems.
Although water covers 71 percent of earth’s surface, “We can only use a very small amount of it. Only about 3 percent of the world’s water is fresh water (淡水). A survey from the United Nations shows that there are over 663 million people living without a safe water supply close to home.
To remind people of the importance of water, the UN first established World Water Day in 1993. It is held on March 22 each year. In 2017 the UN raised a theme—“Wastewater”.
According to the UN, wastewater problems make water shortages (短缺) even more serious. Most of the wastewater from our homes, cities and industries goes directly back to nature. Instead of letting it pollute the environment, the industries need to treat it first.
China takes action to deal with water problems, too. From March 22 to 28 is the China Water Week. During this period, the Chinese government starts a “river chiefs (负责人)” project.
Just as every province, city and county (县) has a leader, every river in China will have a chief, too. Local government heads will be river chiefs. They will be responsible for all the rivers and lakes in their places. They need to make sure that industries have already treated the wastewater. And they also need to clean up the polluted waters before they go into nature.
13.Why does the writer mention the survey from the United Nations?
A.To speak highly of the importance of the survey.
B.To tell people we need to make more fresh water.
C.To prove there isn’t much drinking water on earth.
D.To show many people walk a long way to get water.
14.What similar steps have China and the UN taken to solve water problems?
A.Stopping industries from pouring dirty water directly.
B.Doing more surveys about how to save water.
C.Letting governments deal with water problems.
D.Starting World Water Day to stop wasting water.
15.How is the text organized? (①= Paragraph 1,②= Paragraph 2,……)
A. B. C. D.
16.What is the main idea of this text?
A.Most countries fail to solve water problems.
B.Countries have taken steps to protect water.
C.China calls on other countries to save water.
D.Industries are the main cause for wastewater.
【答案】13.C 14.A 15.B 16.B
根据“Only about 3 percent of the world’s water is fresh water. A survey from the United Nations shows...”
根据“Most of the wastewater from our homes, cities and industries goes directly back to nature. Instead of letting it pollute the environment, the industries need to treat it first.” 故选A。

根据上文“I take a jog in a park”可知,作者是在慢跑,因此用run符合语境。

31.second 32.and 33.projects 34.more 35.The 36.carefully 37.are dried/will be dried 38.by 39.will go 40.people’s
“process of collecting coins”特指“收集硬币的过程”,前面需要加定冠词the,句首首字母大写,故填The。
所以两种时态都是正确的,故填are dried/will be dried。
根据“The work is done”判定句子是被动语态,“by up to four workers”表示 “由多达四名工人(去完成)”,用介词by引出被动语态动作的执行者。
硬币被投进许愿池后,“用于帮助他人” 是将要发生的动作,因此用一般将来时will go,并且下一句游客说的话“this coin is not just staying there but will help needy people”也用一般将来时will help的形式体现了硬币将会帮助有需要的人。
Kids often feel pressure from homework, parents and teachers. But a big pressure comes from “peer pressure”. This happens when you do something because your friends do it, or because they ask you to join in.
Teenagers sometimes blame (归咎于) peer pressure for their actions. Some even use it as an excuse to do things they shouldn’t, like smoking or drinking. Some teens feel they have to do these things to avoid being alone, but this can be risky. You may forget who you really are. As a result, you might stop being yourself. But remember, good friends like you for who you are. Be yourself, and you’ll feel better about yourself.
However, peer pressure isn’t always bad. When friends encourage you to do good things, like trying your best in school or staying out of trouble, it helps you make good choices.
The key is knowing when to go along with others and when to stand your ground. Be brave enough to say no when you need to. If friends try to make you do something bad, suggest something else or just walk away.
Here are two suggestions for dealing with peer pressure. First, spend time with friends who feel the same way. Second, don’t keep your feelings inside and talk to someone you trust.
41.What pressure does the writer think is a big one for kids?
42.Why do some teenagers have to do things like smoking or drinking?
43.Give one example of “something else” you could suggest.
44.Which suggestion in the last paragraph is more helpful for you, the first one or the second one? Why? Write 30 words or more.
41.Peer pressure. 42.To avoid being alone. 43.Playing basketball./Reading books./Going hiking...(答案不唯一,正向答案均可) 44.
Talking to someone I trust helps me feel less alone. If I keep my feelings inside, the pressure only gets worse. Sharing my problems makes me feel better and find a way out.(言之有理即可)
41.根据第一段中“But a big pressure comes from ‘peer pressure’.”
42.根据第二段中“Some teens feel they have to do these things to avoid being alone”可知,一些青少年做吸烟、喝酒这类事是为了避免独处。
(1)表达理解;
(2)提出三条建议;
(1)词数为80~100,开头和结尾已给出,不计入总词数;
(2)可适当增加细节,以使行文连贯;

A.B. C. D.
16.What is the main idea of this text?
A.Most countries fail to solve water problems.
B.Countries have taken steps to protect water.
C.China calls on other countries to save water.
D.Industries are the main cause for wastewater.
