Why do people use beach flags of different colours to convey (传达) information on the beach?
Because different colours have different meanings. Usually red means “stop” or “danger”, and yellow means “Be careful.” It’s like the traffic lights. We mustn’t cross the roads when the traffic lights turn red. And we had better wait when the yellow light is on.

Why do different countries use the same beach flags to tell us the same safety rules?
Because if I can’t read the words of that country, I can still get the information from the colour of the flag. So I can know what I can do and what I mustn’t do on the beach.
What do these beach flags probably (可能) mean? Why? Do you think we can go swimming when we see these beach flags?

Why do people need rules on the beach?
Because rules tell people what to do if there’s something wrong, like big waves or bad weather, so they can stay safe.
Because rules help everyone know what they can and can’t do, so they don’t get into trouble.
Because rules can help create a peaceful and safe environment so that everyone can have fun at the beach.
