MTR Station. C. LWS Building. D. LSK Building. 2. What are participants required to do? A. Collect at least 6 points. B. Keep a fixed speed. C. Choose a marked route. D. Complete a round trip. 3. How many points do you get by walking from YIA Building to LWS Building? A. 1. B. 2. C. 3. D. 6. B 2. C 3. 根据Programme部分中的“Setting out from the MTR Station,“Walk for Green” recommends various walking routes on campus, one of which covers the YIA Building, LSK Building and LWS Building. (从地铁站出发,“绿色行走”活动推荐了多条校园步行路线,其中一条途经YIA大楼、LSK大楼和LWS大楼。)”可知,“绿色行走”活动从地铁站开始。 【2题详解】 细节理解题。根据Participation部分中的“To participate, students and staff members are supposed to select a pre-set route, and tap their school cards at the card readers installed at both the start and end points.(参与活动的师生需选择一条预设路线,并在起终点安装的读卡器上刷校园卡。)” B Christmas time with kids is filled with warm traditions: Listening to Christmas music while decorating the tree, going to look at Christmas lights with hot chocolate in hand, and taking the kids to visit Santa Claus. Well, forget about that last one. At least for my family. Parents think about how fun it will be at first to take their kids to see Santa, or tell them gifts are on their way from Santa, but this comes with a series of annoying questions about Mr. Claus like how he makes it to all the houses in one night, as well as the broken trust after revealing the truth. I didn’t want that. You may think that our Christmases were rigid, and without any warmth or magic. I don’t think so. Part of that is due to what I taught my kids about Christmas. Instead of telling them Santa is real, I told them it most likely has its origins in St. Nicholas, a man who was kind and generous to children in need. Netflix’s 2021 movie A Boy Called Christmas is a useful tool for helping kids connect Christmas myths and traditions with reality while keeping the spirit of generosity alive. The month of December is filled with movie and game nights, plays and concerts. These family traditions have added flavor to my kids’ entire childhood. Hopefully, they know now that it’s the time with family, doing special things together, that creates the magic and that my love for them goes well beyond just one day — and that magic, wonder and awe (敬畏) can happen any time with family, especially if we remain generous and grateful. My kids are older now, and they’re glad they didn’t believe the myth of Santa. It was one fewer bad memory for them, one fewer blow to their innocent childhood. 4. What makes the author’s family Christmas different? A. Skipping visiting Santa Claus. B. Appreciating Christmas lights. C. Exploring Santa Claus’s house. D. Helping Santa Claus deliver gifts. 5. What message does the author want to convey to her kids in Paragraph 3? A. St. Nicholas sets a good example of kindness. B. Christmas is about generosity rooted in real history. C. Myths are necessary to keep the holiday spirit alive. D. Christmas traditions have lost their magic over time. 6. Why does the author keep mentioning “magic” in paragraph 4? A. To prove the Santa myth is not necessary for Christmas. B. To explain family entertainments are popular in December. C. To show Christmas is the most magical festival for families. D. To stress shared family time is the core of Christmas’ charm. 7. Which of the following can best describe the author? A. Generous and devoted. B. Strict but caring. C. Thoughtful and insightful. D. Distant but creative. A 5. B 6. D 7. 根据第一段中的“Well, forget about that last one. At least for my family.(好吧,忘了最后一个吧。至少对我的家人来说是这样)”以及第二段中的“Parents think about how fun it will be at first to take their kids to see Santa, or tell them gifts are on their way from Santa, but this comes with a series of annoying questions about Mr.Claus like how he makes it to all the houses in one night, as well as the broken trust after revealing the truth. I didn’t want that.(父母们一开始会想,带他们的孩子去看圣诞老人,或者告诉他们礼物是圣诞老人送来的,会有多有趣,但这会带来一系列关于圣诞老人的恼人问题,比如他如何在一夜之间到达所有的房子,以及在揭示真相后失去的信任。我不想那样)”可知,作者家庭与众不同的圣诞节传统是跳过拜访圣诞老人这一环节。 【5题详解】 推理判断题。 根据第三段中的“Instead of telling them Santa is real, I told them it most likely has its origins in St. Nicholas, a man who was kind and generous to children in need. Netflix’s 2021 movie A Boy Called Christmas is a useful tool for helping kids connect Christmas myths and traditions with reality while keeping the spirit of generosity alive.(我没有告诉他们圣诞老人是真的,而是告诉他们圣诞老人很可能起源于圣尼古拉斯,一个对需要帮助的孩子很善良和慷慨的人。Netflix 2021年的电影《一个叫圣诞的男孩》是一个有用的工具,可以帮助孩子们将圣诞神话和传统与现实联系起来,同时保持慷慨的精神)”可知,作者想向孩子们传达的信息是,圣诞节是关于慷慨的节日,而这种慷慨精神是植根于真实历史的。 【6题详解】 推理判断题。 根据第四段中的“Hopefully, they know now that it’s the time with family, doing special things together, that creates the magic and that my love for them goes well beyond just one day — and that magic, wonder and awe(敬畏) can happen any time with family, especially if we remain generous and grateful.(希望他们现在知道,正是与家人共度时光,一起做特别的事情,才创造了这种魔力,而我对他们的爱远远不止一天——这种魔力、奇迹和敬畏可以随时与家人一起发生,特别是如果我们保持慷慨和感激的话)”可知,作者不断提到“magic”是为了强调与家人共度时光是圣诞节魅力的核心。 通读全文,结合第一段中“Christmas time with kids is filled with warm traditions: Listening to Christmas music while decorating the tree, going to look at Christmas lights with hot chocolate in hand, and taking the kids to visit Santa Claus. Well, forget about that last one. At least for my family.(与孩子们共度的圣诞节充满了温馨的传统:在装饰圣诞树的同时听圣诞音乐,手里拿着热巧克力看圣诞灯,带孩子们去拜访圣诞老人。好吧,忘了最后一个吧。至少对我的家人来说)”以及第三段中“Instead of telling them Santa is real, I told them it most likely has its origins in St. Nicholas, a man who was kind and generous to children in need. (我没有给他们说圣诞老人是真的,而是告诉他们圣诞老人很可能起源于圣尼古拉斯,一个对贫困儿童友善和慷慨的人)”和第四段中“Hopefully, they know now that it’s the time with family, doing special things together, that creates the magic and that my love for them goes well beyond just one day — and that magic, wonder and awe(敬畏) can happen any time with family, especially if we remain generous and grateful.(希望他们现在知道,是时候和家人在一起,一起做特别的事情了,这创造了魔力,我对他们的爱远远超出了一天——这种魔力、奇迹和敬畏可以在任何时候和家人一起发生,特别是如果我们保持慷慨和感激)”可知,作者深思熟虑地选择不让孩子相信圣诞老人神话,并通过讲述圣尼古拉斯的故事和创造家庭传统来传递节日的真正意义,这表明她是一位考虑周全且富有洞察力的母亲。 C Today, poetry and science are often considered to be mutually exclusive (互相排斥) career paths. But that wasn’t always the case. The mathematician Ada Lovelace and the physicist James Clerk Maxwell were both skilled poets. The poet John Keats was a licensed doctor. Combining the two fields fell out of favor in the 1800s. But translating research into lyrics, haiku, and other poetic forms is reappearing among scientists as they look for different ways to inspire others with their findings. “Poetry is a great tool for questioning the world,” says Sam Illingworth, a poet and a geoscientist who works at the University of Western Australia. Through workshops and a new science-poetry journal, Illingworth is helping scientists to translate their latest results into poems that can attract appreciation from those outside of their immediate scientific field. Stephany Mazon, a scientist from the University of Helsinki in Finland, joined one of Illingworth’s workshops. In the workshop, she was grouped with other scientists and tasked with writing a haiku, a 17-syllable-long poem, which focused on water, which appeared in all their research projects. “It was a lot of fun, and surprisingly easy to write the poem,” Mazon says. She plans to continue writing. “We harm ourselves to think that scientists can’t be artistic and that art can’t be used to communicate scientific ideas,” Mazon says. That viewpoint is shared by Illingworth, who is critical of current science communication initiatives that rely too often on public lectures featuring one-way PowerPoint presentations. “Actually, when science communication involves writing and sharing poems, it invites a two-way dialogue between experts and nonexperts,” he says. Scientist-poet Silva also notes that poetry offers a way to simplify complex scientific concepts for the general public. Scientists and poets are both trying to understand the world and communicate that understanding with others. The gap between scientists and poets is less than people might think. We’re all just people with hopefully really interesting things to say and to share. 8. Why are the famous people mentioned in paragraph 1? A. To display they were talented. B. To encourage different career choices. C. To confirm they were no longer popular. D. To show poetry and science can combine. 9. What are Illingworth’s workshops aimed to do? A. Promote a new science-poetry journal. B. Inspire non-scientists to pursue science careers. C. Encourage science communication through poems. D. Help scientists share insights on the latest research. 10. What does Illingworth think of the present ways of science communication? A. Complex. B. Traditional. C. Effective. D. Creative. 11. Which might be the best title for the text? A. Scientists Take on Poetry B. Scientists and Poets Think Alike C. Poetry: A Great Tool to Question the World D. Science Communication: A Two-way Dialogue 【答案】8. D 9. C 10. B 11. 根据第一段中“Today, poetry and science are often considered to be mutually exclusive (互相排斥) career paths. But that wasn’t always the case. The mathematician Ada Lovelace and the physicist James Clerk Maxwell were both skilled poets. The poet John Keats was a licensed doctor.(如今,诗歌和科学通常被视为互相排斥的职业道路。但情况并非总是如此。数学家Ada Lovelace和物理学家James Clerk Maxwell都是技艺高超的诗人。诗人John Keats是一名执业医生)”可知,第一段提到了著名人物是为了证明诗歌和科学是可以结合的。 【9题详解】 细节理解题。根据第二段中“Through workshops and a new science-poetry journal, Illingworth is helping scientists to translate their latest results into poems that can attract appreciation from those outside of their immediate scientific field.(通过研讨会和一本新的科学诗歌杂志,Illingworth正在帮助科学家们将他们的最新成果转化为诗歌,以吸引他们所在具体科研领域之外的人的欣赏)”可知,Illingworth的研讨会旨在鼓励通过诗歌进行科学传播。 根据第四段中“That viewpoint is shared by Illingworth, who is critical of current science communication initiatives that rely too often on public lectures featuring one-way PowerPoint presentations.(Illingworth也持这种观点,他对当前的科学传播计划持批评态度,这些计划往往过于依赖单向的PPT演示的公开讲座)”可知,Illingworth认为目前科学传播的方式依赖单向的PPT演示,仍然是传统的方式。 通读全文,结合第一段中“But translating research into lyrics, haiku, and other poetic forms is reappearing among scientists as they look for different ways to inspire others with their findings. (但是,随着科学家们寻找用他们的发现激励他人的不同方式,将研究成果转化为歌词、俳句和其他诗歌形式的做法正在科学家群体中重新出现)”、第二段中“Through workshops and a new science-poetry journal, Illingworth is helping scientists to translate their latest results into poems (通过工作坊和一本新的科学诗歌期刊,Illingworth正在帮助科学家将他们最新的研究成果转化为诗歌)”、第三段中“She plans to continue writing. “We harm ourselves to think that scientists can’t be artistic and that art can’t be used to communicate scientific ideas,” Mazon says. (她计划继续写作。Mazon说:“认为科学家不能有艺术细胞、艺术不能用来传播科学思想,这种想法对我们自己是有害的。”)”和最后一段中“Scientists and poets are both trying to understand the world and communicate that understanding with others. The gap between scientists and poets is less than people might think.(科学家和诗人都在试图理解这个世界,并与他人交流这种理解。科学家和诗人之间的差距可能比人们想象的要小)”可知,文章主要介绍了科学家通过诗歌来传播科学知识这一现象。因此,文章的核心是科学家正在尝试用诗歌作为科学传播的工具。“Scientists Take on Poetry (科学家拥抱诗歌)”能概括文章内容,最适合做文章标题。 D Chatbots offer a personal shopper for all. They can listen to what a user wants, produce a list of products and help with comparisons. Increasingly, consumers can even make purchases through a chatbot. AI companies are betting that their technology will greatly change shopping just as e-commerce (电子商务) did in the Internet age. OpenAI has made deals with Shopify and Etsy to allow sellers to sell their products through its chatbot in return for a fee. Google is also eager to get a share of the market. Retailers (零售商), however, are not sitting back. Many e-commerce websites are indignant at the idea of an AI agent getting between them and their customers. Amazon, the world’s biggest online mall, is eager to keep shoppers coming to its website. It has blocked OpenAI from collecting information. Meanwhile, some retailers have developed shopping assistants of their own. Research suggests that Americans prefer such bots over third-party ones like ChatGPT when shopping. Julie Bornstein, founder of Daydream, says that chatbots are more helpful when searching for certain goods. They work well when products have clear, comparable details —— like mobile phones, for which retailers list size, weight and battery life. But in deeply personal areas, such as fashion, most struggle. How willingly consumers turn to AI for shopping may also depend on how much chatbot-makers embrace ads to make money. Google has reportedly told marketers that it will put ads into its Gemini chatbot next year. That could make chatbots one-sided and less fair in giving suggestions, thus driving shoppers away. As AI transforms online shopping, physical stores gain renewed importance. Shops with eye-catching displays and charming assistants will offer another way for companies to shape how they are perceived. Plenty of shoppers say that they value human interactions when shopping. They still want to touch and feel certain products. And at this time of year, heading to the high street offers a chance to enjoy the holiday spirit. 12. What does the underlined word “indignant” in paragraph 3 mean? A. Happy. B. Amazed. C. Indifferent. D. Angry. 13. What is a possible disadvantage of putting ads into chatbots? A. Chatbots may bring in less profit. B. Recommendations may be less objective. C. Retailers may be forced to cut their prices. D. Shoppers may stop visiting physical stores. 14. What is highlighted in the last paragraph? A. The value of offline shopping. B. The disappearance of high streets. C. The necessity of keeping brand image. D. The popularity of AI-run physical stores. 15. What’s the text mainly about? A. How AI is reshaping shopping. B. Why physical stores regain popularity. C. How retailers are reacting to AI agents. D. Why chatbots work better for some goods. D 13. B 14. A 15. 根据第三段划线词所在句“Many e-commerce websites are indignant at the idea of an AI agent getting between them and their customers.(许多电子商务网站对一个AI代理插足它们和顾客之间感到 indignant。)”结合后文“Amazon, the world’s biggest online mall, is eager to keep shoppers coming to its website. It has blocked OpenAI from collecting information. Meanwhile, some retailers have developed shopping assistants of their own. Research suggests that Americans prefer such bots over third-party ones like ChatGPT when shopping.(亚马逊,全球最大的在线商城,正竭力吸引顾客持续访问其网站。为此,它已禁止 OpenAI 收集用户信息。与此同时,一些零售商也开发了自己的购物助手。研究显示,在购物时,美国人更倾向于使用这类机器人助手,而非像 ChatGPT 这样的第三方产品。)”亚马逊阻止OpenAI收集信息、零售商开发自有助手等举动可知,零售商对AI插足感到不满和愤怒。因此,indignant意为“愤怒的、不满的”,与D选项Angry意思相近。 【13题详解】 细节理解题。根据第五段中的“Google has reportedly told marketers that it will put ads into its Gemini chatbot next year. That could make chatbots one-sided and less fair in giving suggestions, thus driving shoppers away.(据报道,谷歌已告知营销人员,明年将把广告植入其“吉布森”聊天机器人中。这可能会使聊天机器人的建议变得片面、不公平,从而赶走购物者。)”可知,在聊天机器人中加入广告可能导致其推荐建议变得不那么客观。 【14题详解】 主旨大意题。最后一段“As AI transforms online shopping, physical stores gain renewed importance. Shops with eye-catching displays and charming assistants will offer another way for companies to shape how they are perceived. Plenty of shoppers say that they value human interactions when shopping. They still want to touch and feel certain products. And at this time of year, heading to the high street offers a chance to enjoy the holiday spirit.(随着人工智能改变在线购物,实体店重新获得了重要性。 通读全文,尤其是第一段“Chatbots offer a personal shopper for all. They can listen to what a user wants, produce a list of products and help with comparisons. Increasingly, consumers can even make purchases through a chatbot.(聊天机器人为所有人提供私人购物服务。 A选项“How AI is reshaping shopping.(人工智能如何重塑购物)”概括了文章主旨。 How Houseplants Boost Your Mental Health Growing indoor plants is becoming a global wellness trend. A 2025 WHO report shows 68% of the potted plants kept at home are not just for decoration. ____16____ Studies reveal that touching rosemary leaves reduces cortisol (皮质醇) by 19%, while watering orchids calms people down just like deep thought or quiet rest does. The magic lies in three aspects. ____17____ Caring for leaves or observing green trees creates natural“micro-breaks” from digital screens. This explains why office workers with desk plants report 30% less tiredness in their eyes. ____18____ Harvard neuroscientists found that successfully growing plants triggers dopamine(多巴胺) release, creating a feeling of success similar to completing a crossword puzzle.“Each new leaf gives clear proof of your growing skills,” explains Dr. Emma Lin. Surprisingly, plants enhance social bonds. ____19____ People who live in apartments and exchange plant cuttings have 45% more neighborhood connections. Community gardens also become spaces for inter-generational storytelling, where elders teach herbal knowledge to children. Early wins with easy-to-grow plants build confidence. ____20____ A. Plants offer a natural escape from digital overload. B. For beginners, choose plants matching your lifestyle. C. Growing plants helps to bring about a sense of achievement. D. They’ re actually helpful in improving emotional well-being. E. Urban planners are building“green walls” in subway stations. F. For example, 73% of plant owners share gardening tips online. G. Seeing your first new leaf is like making a small breakthrough. D 17. A 18. C 19. F 20. 【16题详解】 由上文“A 2025 WHO report shows 68% of the potted plants kept at home are not just for decoration. (2025年世卫组织报告显示,家中68%的盆栽植物不仅仅是为了装饰)”以及下文“Studies reveal that touching rosemary leaves reduces cortisol by 19%, while watering orchids calms people down... (研究表明触摸迷迭香叶可降低19%的皮质醇,浇灌兰花能让人平静下来……)”可知,本空要说这些植物实际上对情绪健康有益。D选项“They’re actually helpful in improving emotional well-being. (它们实际上有助于改善情绪健康)”能承上启下,符合题意。该选项中的“They"指代上文的“the potted plants”,且该选项中的“improving emotional well-being”与下文的“reduces cortisol”和“calms people down”相呼应,表示植物的心理健康益处。 【17题详解】 由上文“The magic lies in three aspects. (这种魔力在于三个方面)”以及下文“Caring for leaves or observing green trees creates natural ‘micro-breaks’ from digital screens. (照料树叶或观察绿树能让人从数字屏幕中获得自然的‘微休息’)”可知,本空是第一个方面的总起句。A选项“Plants offer a natural escape from digital overload. (植物提供了一个逃离数字过载的自然途径)”能承上启下,符合题意。该选项中的“digital overload”与下文的“digital screens”相呼应,表示植物帮助人们摆脱电子设备的影响。 【18题详解】 由下文“Harvard neuroscientists found that successfully growing plants triggers dopamine release, creating a feeling of success similar to completing a crossword puzzle. (哈佛神经科学家发现,成功种植植物会触发多巴胺释放,产生一种类似于完成填字游戏的成功感)”可知,本空要说种植植物能带来成就感。C选项“Growing plants helps to bring about a sense of achievement. (种植植物有助于带来成就感)”能引出下文,符合题意。该选项中的“sense of achievement”与下文的“feeling of success”相呼应,表示种植植物的成就体验。 【19题详解】 由上文“Surprisingly, plants enhance social bonds. (令人惊讶的是,植物能增强社会纽带)”以及下文“People who live in apartments and exchange plant cuttings have 45% more neighborhood connections. (住在公寓里并交换植物插枝的人邻里关系增加了45%)”可知,本空要举例说明植物如何促进社交。F选项“For example, 73% of plant owners share gardening tips online. (例如,73%的植物主人在网上分享园艺技巧)”能承上启下,符合题意。该选项中的“share gardening tips online”与上文的“social bonds”以及下文的“exchange plant cuttings”相呼应,表示植物带来的社交互动。 【20题详解】 由上文“Early wins with easy-to-grow plants build confidence. (用易养植物取得的早期成功建立信心)”可知,本空要进一步说明这种早期成功的意义。G选项“Seeing your first new leaf is like making a small breakthrough. (看到你第一片新叶子就像取得了一个小小的突破)”能承接上文,符合题意。该选项中的“first new leaf"与上文的“Early wins”和“easy-to-grow plants”相呼应,表示种植过程中获得的成就感。 第三部分语言知识运用(共三节,满分40分) 第一节完形填空(共15小题;每小题1分,满分15分) 阅读下面短文,从每题所给的 A、B、C和 D 四个选项中,选出最佳选项。 I have always been attracted by archaeology since I was little. B Christmas time with kids is filled with warm traditions: Listening to Christmas music while decorating the tree, going to look at Christmas lights with hot chocolate in hand, and taking the kids to visit Santa Claus. 4. Science Communication: A Two-way Dialogue D Chatbots offer a personal shopper for all. 第二节(共5 小题,每小题2.5分,满分12.5分) 根据短文内容,从短文后的选项中选出能填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有两项为多余选项。 How Houseplants Boost Your Mental Health Growing indoor plants is becoming a global wellness trend.
