Show a picture of Beethoven. Then play a short part of Beethoven’s Symphony No.9.

Predict: What is the passage about? What problem did Beethoven have?

Beethoven is regarded as one of the greatest composers in the history of music. Inspired by his struggles with deafness, he composed some amazing pieces. He proceeded with the composition until his death, writing more than 130 musical works.
In February 1824, Beethoven's ninth symphony was finally completed, and he proudly signed his name at the bottom of the page.
Before the performance, Beethoven felt that the performance would be a disaster . The audience applauded loudly when he walked onto the stage. Beethoven together with Michael Umlauf took charge of the orchestra and the performance proved to be a success .
