Are you emotional? Do you often have strong feelings? How do you deal with bad emotions?
We feel angry or unhappy about the things we did or did not achieve about the things we cannot have, and many other things. It seems that everyone carries their own bad moods. But neither unhappiness nor anger can help us. Over time, they can be heavy weights on our shoulders.
These bad moods don’t do anything good for us at all. So you might ask yourself—is it possible to put down this heavy burden and give yourself a break? It is quite possible. Start by actually learning about your feelings. How do they get inside of us? Why do we carry them for so long instead of putting them down? Can we live without them?
By thinking about our bad moods, we can find healthy ways to deal with them. Unhealthy behaviors are not the way to do this. They provide no relaxation. Instead, there are better ways to deal with them. One of the best ways is forgiveness.
Forgiveness is a powerful tool. We should forgive ourselves first. We shouldn’t keep bad moods inside. We must also forgive others who have made us unhappy or angry. This is not always easy. But when we learn to forgive ourselves; it becomes easier to forgive others as well.
There is nothing good about carrying years of emotional burdens. By forgiving ourselves and others, we can abandon our burdens and feel better about ourselves. When you do this, you will start to feel a lot lighter. Years of heaviness will be magically lifted! You’ll start to feel like you have more energy and you’ll be much happier with your life.

A.Forgiving ourselves and others. B.Keeping bad moods inside.
C.Sharing bad moods with others. D.Finding good emotions to replace them.

A.Unhappiness can sometimes encourage people to make progress.
B.It’s necessary to keep the feelings to yourself when you are busy.
C.Forgive others first and then you can be full of energy and power.
D.Bad emotions are normal but need to be dealt with in a proper way.

It doesn’t matter if your business is big or small. You have to let people know that you’re there and what it is you have to sell. And that, of course, is where advertising (打广告) comes in. It’s everywhere you go — in newspapers and magazines, on TV, on radio, in cinemas, on websites…there’s no escape anywhere.
There are many ways to show people your ads, and this has always been true. Sandwich board men were, and in some places still are, a popular way of producing a simple and mobile ad at a reasonably low cost. There are surely more unusual ways, like sky-writing: hiring a special, smoke-producing plane to write the name of your product in the sky. It works well, but of course, it’s costly and doesn’t last long. Planes are also sometimes used to pull banners (横幅) with words across the sky. They’re still quite popular nowadays.
The world of advertising is all about making an impression and getting noticed, and this can lead people to be very creative. For example, an airline paid a café to advertise the price of their flights to Rome in the foam (泡沫) of coffee. Also, there’s a restaurant in the USA that made large, fake seashells (贝壳) and placed them on the beach. When passers-by opened up a shell, they read the message “Looking for seafood?” and the restaurant’s address. It is pretty smart and maybe works very well.
Advertising is often funny too. One of my favourite ads is made by as small a business as you can get — a window cleaner named Jim. He placed a small card behind the windows that he cleaned which said: “If you can read this, I’ve done a good job”, followed, of course, by his telephone number. This has been called “guerrilla (游击) advertising”—using very cheap materials like sandwich boards to make a big impression. Instead of using people, you could use something else, like cows. That’s what a website in Florida did.
However, some people feel that advertising is too intrusive. When facing ads, they may think “Can’t we have a cup of coffee or a walk along the beach without someone trying to sell us something?”
31.What can we learn about advertising from paragraph 1?
A.Ads can help businesses grow in size. B.Some businesses need more ads than others.
C.The Internet is the best way of advertising. D.People can not avoid ads in everyday lives.
32.What did the airline and the US restaurant have in common in advertising?
A.Both offered low prices. B.Both used online methods.
C.Both advertised in unusual places. D.Both cared about service.
33.Which of the following is the possible reason why the writer likes Jim’s ad best?
A.It connected humor with his service. B.It used expensive materials creatively.
C.It was widely shared on the Internet. D.It followed common advertising rules.
34.What does the underlined word “intrusive” in paragraph 5 probably mean in Chinese?
A.便利的 B.复杂的 C.打扰人的 D.有规律的
35.What is the main purpose of the text?
A.To encourage people to advertise. B.To describe forms of advertising.
C.To compare different products on ads. D.To list reasons for advertising.

33.推理判断题。根据“One of my favourite ads is made by as small a business as you can get — a window cleaner named Jim.”和“This has been called “guerrilla (游击) advertising”—using very cheap materials like sandwich boards to make a big impression.”可知,吉姆的广告把幽默和他的服务联系起来。故选A。

Look at the picture and answer a 100,000-yuan question: What does this ancient Oracle Bone Script (甲骨文) mean? If you know the answer, then good for you! The 100,000 yuan is yours. This is no joke. In 2018, a researcher Jiang Yubin won a 100,000-yuan prize for successfully deciphering the ancient characters in such a picture, proving the real value of understanding these historical scripts.
Like Jiang, Li Ying is not only a fan and but also a researcher of Oracle Bone Script. The 27-year-old woman has recently gained widespread attention because of her videos about Oracle Bone Script. According to Li, Oracle Bone Script was once a less-known field. “You can’t imagine how strange my major seems to others,” Li said in one of her videos. “Whenever I tell people what I studied, they shoot me a surprised look.”
In her videos, Li often discusses how ancient people used Oracle Bone Script to record information and explains where Chinese characters (汉字) came from. She also points out that each Chinese character has a unique story behind it, and these stories are exactly why the characters developed their specific shapes over thousands of years. “It’s like each character carries a piece of history in its strokes,” she says.
To Li’s surprise, since her first Oracle Bone Script video was posted online in February 2023, this ancient topic has become a popular trend on the Internet. “I never expected so many people to be interested in Oracle Bone Script! Parents and teachers have left messages, saying they want to learn about Chinese culture by studying it,” she said in another video. “Viewers ask all kinds of questions—some want to know how to start learning Oracle Bone Script, some wonder if I wrote my university papers using these ancient characters. Many told me to get serious with my time and start my work on the next video!”
This growing interest has made Li feel a strong sense of responsibility. She hopes to share more knowledge about Oracle Bone Script with the public and help uncover more secrets of China’s long history. “These ancient characters are not just symbols, they’re a bridge connecting the past and present,” she believes. Through her efforts, Li wants more people especially young students, to realize the beauty and importance of preserving China’s cultural heritage.
36.Why does the writer talk about the story about the picture in paragraph 1?
A.To make up a joke. B.To bring up the topic.
C.To encourage the readers. D.To compare different jobs.
37.What’s paragraph 3 mainly about?
A.Why Li Ying makes her videos. B.How Li Ying creates her videos.

38.What does the underlined word “it” in paragraph 4 refer to?
A.Li Ying’s video. B.Li Ying’s paper.
C.Chinese culture. D.Oracle Bone Script.
39.What can we infer from the last sentence in paragraph 4?
A.Many people can’t wait to see Li Ying’s new videos.
B.Many people want Li Ying to take her work seriously.
C.Many people can’t stand Li Ying being serious in her videos.
D.Many people want Li Ying to stop wasting time on her videos.
40.Which of the following statements about Li Ying’s experience with Oracle Bone Script is wrong?
A.She has been researching Oracle Bone Script for more than ten years.
B.She feels responsible because of people’s growing interest in Oracle Bone Script.
C.She was surprised by the strong public response to her first Oracle Bone Script video.
D.Her videos both introduce Oracle Bone Script and explore the origins of Chinese characters.

I’m thrilled to share my experience winning the first prize in the “the Beauty of Nature” photography exhibition. I took this photo last fall at Sunset Hill. It shows a beautiful moment when golden leaves were falling softly, making a colorful ground under the warm sunset light.
I chose this photo because it perfectly conveys nature’s magic. As I watched the leaves dancing in the breeze, I felt a deep connection to the Earth, and I wanted to share that sense of peace and wonder with others.
Participating in the exhibition was an unforgettable experience. It not only allowed me to express my love for nature but also taught me to observe the world with a more appreciative eye. I’m truly grateful for this opportunity, and I hope my work inspires you to discover the beauty of nature too!

C.What Li Ying says in her videos. D.When Li Ying shares her videos.
