·Enjoying peonies, known as “the flower of Grain Rain”, which are in full bloom.
·Eating fresh seasonal vegetables like Chinese toon (香椿) and shepherd’s purse (荠菜). They are tasty and healthy.

Over 2,000 years ago, Lu Ban’s wife Yun invented the first umbrella to keep the rain off Lu. Then after the creation of paper (around 105 AD), oil paper umbrellas appeared and became popular. During the Tang Dynasty, they travelled to other Asian countries and were famous as “Tang Umbrellas”.
In the 1970s, modern umbrellas came out. They were lighter, cheaper, and easier to make. Oil paper umbrellas became less popular and even faced the danger of disappearing.
Luckily, in 2008, oil paper umbrellas were added to the Intangible Cultural Heritage List This helped save the craft. Craftsmen like Bi Liufu from Luzhou, Sichuan are trying their best, too. Bi made the world’s largest paper umbrella in 2016 and opened a museum in 2018. He also teaches students at schools and shares the beauty of oil paper umbrellas online.
Now we can see oil paper umbrellas in dances, operas and fashion shows. Many visitors choose to take them as a gift for family and friends. Oil paper umbrellas aren’t just umbrellas. They are part of China’s history. People are looking for new ways to make them part of the future.

根据“I really wanted to cheer and jump happily.” angry(生气的)、calm(冷静的)、down(低落的)均不符合。
根据“it’s not a scholarship jacket, is it?”可知,此处指奖学金夹克,jacket(夹克)正确。field(田野)、grass(草)、house(房子)均不符合。
根据“I asked Grandpa for money the day before.” before(在……之前)、while(与同时,后接延续性动词)、until(直到)均不符合此处语境。
后文提到“I had to pay fifteen dollars”,说明不免费,free(免费的)正确。expensive(昂贵的)、common(普通的)、cheap(便宜的)均不符合。
根据前文“I was so sad”可知,祖父不同意付夹克的钱,agree(同意) 正确。need(需要)、find(找到)、remember(记住)均不符合。
根据“you pay for it”和“it’s not a scholarship jacket”可知,如果奖学金夹克需要付钱才能拿到,那就不是奖学金夹克了。
根据“My heart was pounding fast, just like a drum beating.”和“I’m getting the scholarship jacket, Grandpa.” 应该是迫不及待地想和爷爷分享,“can’t wait to do sth.” hope(希望)、want(想要)、forget(忘记)均不符合此搭配。
around(围绕)、off(离开)、over(越过)均不符合。
moved(移动)、taught(教)、left(离开)均不符合。
polite(礼貌的)、wrong(错误的)、interesting(有趣的)均不符合。
spirit(精神)、skills(技能)、power(力量)均不符合。
even(甚至)、ever(曾经)、once(一次)均不符合。
me(我)、his(他的)、her(她)均不符合。
根据“Better go and see if your grandmother needs any help with supper.”和“I dried the dishes, set the table with plates and forks, and even cut some vegetables.” cooking(做饭)、enjoying(享受)、eating(吃)均不符合帮忙的语境。
根据“I felt the love and warmth of our family even more.” quietly(安静地)、excitedly(兴奋地)、patiently(耐心地)与触摸的动作搭配不如“softly”贴切。

My favorite part is when Santiago meets the alchemist, who teaches him that true treasure lies within. This moment reminds me that self-discovery is key to achieving our goals.
