Growing up is far from easy. It can be a real “pain” for some of us. We are always doing things that someone else makes us do and aren’t allowed to do all the things we like. Sometimes we feel trapped (受限制的); sometimes we are fearful, and sometimes we just don’t understand why we can’t stay young forever. When we look back on all the hardships in life with a positive attitude (态度), we realize that all of our growing pains actually turn into growing gains!
When I was a young girl, my parents forced my sisters and me to do so many things that we never liked. They made me learn to play the violin and then the piano. At that time I hated music, just because it was what they wanted me to do. But looking back now, I am so glad that my parents encouraged me to take music lessons. Music has enriched my life in so many ways. I realize that my parents and teachers were always pushing me ahead, not because they wanted me to suffer (受苦), but because they wanted me to succeed in life. They always want me to have a better life than they do.
Every moment in our lives is either living or dying, so live life to its fullest! We are all going to experience growing pains, but they are just small pains in life. They might seem so huge at the time but we must be strong. Think about how we would feel if we had no fear and lived a life like that. The future is ours.
A little hard work and sweat never harm anyone! If we realize that these pains are just small bumps (凸块) on our road to success, we will realize that our growing pains are actually growing gains.
6. What can we learn from Paragraph 1?
A. “Growing up” means “suffering”.
B. All the things we like are good for us.
C. We should live with a positive attitude.
D. We hope to be young forever when we are young.
7. When did the writer feel trapped?
A. When she wanted to live a happy life.
B. When she was forced to do many things.
C. When she looked back on the pains in the past.
D. When she realized that every moment in life is either living or dying.
8. Which of the following has the closest meaning to the underlined phrase “to its fullest” in Paragraph 3?
A. Directly. B. Completely. C. Carefully. D. Easily.
9. What does the underlined word “They” refer to?
A. Pains. B. Experiences. C. Lives. D. Successes.
10. According to the text, what does the writer want to tell us?
A. No pain, no gain. B. Forced interest does not last.
C. Practice makes perfect. D. Failure is the mother of success.
【答案】6. C 7. B 8. B 9. A 10. A
【解析】

C
