B.If you had you taken; would make
C.Were you to take; shouldn’t have made
D.Have you taken; won’t have made
【答案】A
根据前句“You didn’t take his advice.” 虚拟条件句结构:从句为“If + 主语 + had + 过去分词”,也可省略if,将 had提前,变成“Had + 主语 + 过去分词”;主句用“would/should/could/might + have + 过去分词”。A选项“Had you taken”是虚拟条件句省略 if 后的正确形式,“wouldn’t have made”符合对过去虚拟的主句结构。故选A。
2._______ the picture of the popular singer, I would show it to you right now.
A.I had taken B.Did I take C.Had I taken D.I took
3.If only he _______ quietly as the doctor instructed, he would not suffer so much now.
A.Lies B.lay C.had lain D.should lie
4.Without your help, I ________ any progress.
A.didn’t make
B.won’t make
C.shouldn’t have made
D.couldn’t have made

A.will allow B.should allow
C.would have allowed D.had allowed
6.I wish I ________ busy yesterday. I could have helped you with the math.
A.hadn’t been B.weren’t C.wasn’t D.haven’t been
【答案】A
故选A。
7.I told Mary how to get to the supermarket, but perhaps I ________ for her.
A.must have written it out B.might have written it out
C.should have written it out D.could have written it out
A. must have written it out一定写下来了(用于对过去的肯定推测);B. might have written it out可能写下来了(用于对过去的可能性推测);C. should have written it out本应该写下来(用于表达过去应该做但实际未做的事情,带有责备或后悔的语气);D. could have written it out本可以写下来(强调过去有能力做但没做)。

12. it rain tomorrow, we would have to put off the sports meeting.
A.Were B.Should C.Would D.Could
【答案】B

13.________ it rain tomorrow, we will stay at home.
A.Should B.Would C.Will D.Shall
【答案】A
故选A。
14. the morning train, he would not have been late for the meeting.
A.Did he catch B.Should he catch
C.Has he caught D.Had he caught
If he had caught the morning train。故选D。
15.______ he followed my advice, he would have succeeded.
A.when B.If C.Had D.Has

17.________, we would have finished the work on time.
A.Had Jim come B.Jim had come C.If had Jim come D.If Jim has come
【答案】A
18.__________ for his mistake, he wouldn’t have been punished.
A.If he apologized
B.Apologized he
C.Had he apologized
D.Should he apologize
主句“he wouldn’t have been punished”使用了“would have done”结构,表明这是对过去情况的虚拟。
19.________ for your timely help, we would have been trapped in the mountain.
A.If it were not B.Were it not C.Had it not been D.If it has not been

21.If only I late for the meeting yesterday.
A.hadn’t been B.wasn’t C.haven’t D.wouldn’t be
【答案】A
if only 表示“要是…… 故选A。

Bicycles have long been used for transportation in China. But recently, cycling has become popular because of the result of restrictions due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The pandemic has made cycling more popular as officials closed some gymnasiums or places for exercise.
Linda Mo could not exercise indoors in May because of the pandemic. So, she started cycling and soon loved the sport. “I realized a racing bicycle was quite different than a regular bike,” she said, adding, “It’s very fast and exciting.”
For cyclist Yang Lan, the sport also provides an escape from the daily difficulties of life. “With the pandemic, it seems to be the only way for us to run away from the terrible city life.” she said.
Naturally, the growth in cycling has increased the demand for bicycles. Beijing stores’ sales rose 20 to 30 percent from March to June, compared to the same period last year. Zhou Fuyuan, the founder of Magic Cycling, said China’s bicycle market was a $12 to $15 billion industry in 2021. Research and Markets predict that the sales could reach $16.5 billion by 2026.
Because of increasing demand and worldwide supply chain problems, people must wait weeks or months to get one. For every specialized bicycle sold in Beijing at least 10 customers are waiting for their bicycles to arrive, Joanna Lei chose to pay more for bicycle available. She said the money was better spent than on a luxury bag. “What you are investing in is your own body and a very good habit,” she said. Lei added, “I think it is more valuable than clothes that you wear or handbags that you use.”
People will have more choices for sports and entertainment when the pandemic is over. But Feng says he expects cycling to remain popular because of China’s growing health concerns and awareness of environmental protection.
“Such a lifestyle is probably healthier and is more beneficial to society,” Yang said. She added, “I think people now have a good sense of environmental protection and hope to do good for society.”
26. Why have bicycles become popular recently?
A.Because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
B.Because people want to take exercise by riding bike.
C.Because of the heavy traffic.
D.Because it’s much cheaper to buy a bike than a car.
27. Which of the following is NOT the reason why cycling has become popular in China?
A.Because cycling gives people an escape from the daily difficulties of life.
B.Because officials closed some places for exercise during the pandemic.

D.Because people’s health concerns have increased.
28. What does the underlined “it” in Paragraph 6 refer to?
A.The environment.
B.Cycling.
C.A good habit.
D.A bicycle.
29. Why does the writer list lots of numbers in the passage?
A.To explain why the price of bicycle is rising.
B.To state the growing demand of bicycles in China.
C.To compare bicycles sales before and after the pandemic.
D.To show people’s increasing awareness of environmental protection.
30. What is the best title of the passage?

London — A morning train rides away, across the channel. English kids discuss the Liverpool’s football team in a Paris pub. Some Parisians have started to travel to work in London.
In the 19th century, Charles Dickens compared the two cities, London and Paris, in A Tale of Two Cities. These days, it might be A tale of One City.
As there are few jobs at home over recent years, perhaps 250,000 Frenchmen moved across the channel. With an undersea tunnel, they could travel between cities in three hours. The European Union freed them from immigration and customs.
Paris, rich in beauty, is more stylish. But London feels more full of life, and more fun until the pubs shut down.
“For me, the difference is that London is real, alive,” said Trevor Wheeler, a financial expert.
Chantal Jaouen, a professional designer, agrees. “I am French, but I’ll stay in London,’’ she said.
There is, of course, the other view. Julie Lenoux is a student who moved to London two years ago. “I think people laugh more in Paris,” she said.
“Both cities have changed beyond recognition,” said Larry Collins, an author and sometimes a Londoner. Like most people who know both cities well, he finds the two now fit together comfortably. “I first fell in love with Paris in the 1950s. Things are so much more ordered, and life is better.”
But certainly not cheaper. In some parts of London, rents can be twice those on Avenue Foch in Paris.
Deciding between London and Paris requires a lifestyle choice. Like Daphne Benoit, a French journalism student with perfect English, many young people are happy to be close enough so they don’t have to choose. “I love Paris, my little neighbourhood, the way I can walk around a centre, but life is too organized,” she said. “In London, you can be whoever you want. No one cares.”
31.It can be inferred that _____.
A.Paris and London are the two biggest cities in the world
B.in the 19th century, Dickens told his stories in the two cities
C.London and Paris used to be separated
D.Liverpool is a big city in France
32.According to this passage, which of the following is TRUE?
A.People feel it difficult to find a job in Paris.
B.People can’t travel to London without a passport.
C.People can travel to London without a passport.
D.People can find any job in London.
33.According to this passage we know that _____.
A.Parisians enjoy English food more than their own
B.Londoners seldom travel to Paris on holidays
C.both cities have their advantages
D.young people prefer to live in London
34.Which city is better to live in according to the passage?
A.Paris.
B.London.
C.Both cities.
D.It just depends.
35.What’s the meaning of the last sentence?
A.People can do everything in London.
B.People will feel lonely in London.
C.People in London enjoy living in different ways.
D.People in London enjoy a lawless life.
【答案】31.C 32.A 33.C 34.D 35.C
根据文章第二段“In the 19th century, Charles Dickens compared the two cities, London and Paris, in A Tale of Two Cities. These days, it might be A tale of One City.
根据文章第三段中“As there are few jobs at home over recent years, perhaps 250,000 Frenchmen moved across the channel. 故选A。
根据文章第四段“Paris, rich in beauty, is more stylish. But London feels more full of life, and more fun until the pubs shut down.
根据文章最后一段中“Deciding between London and Paris requires a lifestyle choice.

She said the money was better spent than on a luxury bag. “What you are investing in is your own body and a very good habit,” she said. Lei added, “I think it is more valuable than clothes that you wear or handbags that you use.”
