Teamwork Makes the Dream Work
As an old saying goes, "Ten thousand lines an pull a boat." It shows us how important the teamwork is. I also learn this from an unforgettable experience.
Last Friday afternoon, we had a basketball match against Class Three. At the beginning, we all tried to show each other to be the best player. We just ran around and didn't pass the ball to others. Soon we fell behind. During the break, our coach advised us to work together as a team. We followed his advice. In the end, we won the game and each of us felt happy.
This experience made me understand that a team sport was not just about "me", but about "us". The key to success is team spirit.

As a child, I believed all people had hidden magic(魔法) inside them. Inspired by stories like The Sword in the Stone, I searched for my own power. I studied astrology(占星术)and personality tests, hoping to understand myself better. But none of these systems felt truly mine.
At the same time, I fell in love with music. Playing in orchestras felt like magic—creating something beautiful together was thrilling. But as I trained at a top music school and played professionally, the joy faded(逐渐消失). Teachers, conductors, and audience always criticized. The pressure for perfection crushed my wonder.
I realised no outside system—whether mystical or musical—could give me real power. True magic wasn't about escaping judgment but learning to trust myself. Yet, I became my own worst enemy. My self-criticism was harsher than anything others said. I spiraled into negativity, desperate for approval but never feeling good enough. I grew insecure and lonely. My relationships fell apart—painful breakups, a divorce, struggles at work. I hit rock bottom.
But that's when everything changed. I decided to believe I could be whole. Instead of looking outside for answers, I turned inward. It was scary—no rules, no approval—just me, learning to trust myself again. I imagined what it would feel like to be enough. I practised self-kindness, forgiveness, and slowly, the self-hate faded. My confidence grew. For the first time, I felt real magic—not from books or music, but from within.
Now I know my true power: helping others find their own light. Magic is never about perfection. It is always inside me—waiting to be found.

These days, many students are facing some common problems. Some students feel that their parents don’t allow them to use mobile phones or play computer games. They often argue with their parents about this. Also, some students find it hard to get on with their classmates. They may have fights or misunderstandings, and then they can’t continue their friendship.
In my opinion, these problems can be solved. First, you should communicate more with your parents. Tell them your feelings and why you need some free time to relax. Your parents will understand you better. Second, if you have problems with your classmates, try to talk to them calmly. Listen to their opinions and explain yours. Don’t be angry easily. Everyone should learn to respect others.
I believe if students follow these suggestions, they can get along with their parents and classmates, and have a happier school life.

There is a new study on teenagers who are between 13 and 19 years old. The study shows that today's teenagers are growing up more slowly than those before.
Scientists from San Diego State University have worked on a study on the behaviour of eight million teenagers in seven different countries over the past 40 years. The results tell us that today's teenagers are less responsible. And it takes them more time to do the same things than their parents did. "This is a slow life way'," said Professor Jean Twenge.
"The growth of today's teenagers has slowed down.18-year-olds are more like 15-year-olds in the past," added Professor Twenge. "Teenagers today are taking fewer risks than those in the past did." Scientists have also found that more teenagers spend longer time living with their parents.
One of the main reasons is that today's teenagers would like to spend much time online. They keep on connecting with social media, watching videos or playing games on the internet. As a result, they don't live in the real world. Another one is that parents do much for their children and protect them too much. In fact, parents had better try their best to make their children become independent as soon as possible.
70.Which of the following is TRUE(正确的) according to the passage?
A. The study is about 8 million teenagers from America. B. The study began in 1960.
C. Today's teenagers don't like slow life. D. Teenagers in the past took more risks.
71. Why do today's teenagers grow up slowly?
①Because they don't like living in the real world.
②Because it's difficult for them to do well at school.
③Because their parents do too many things for them.
④Because they spend too much time online.
A.①③ B.①② C.②④ D.③④
72.What would be the best title for the passage?
A.How to Be an Independent Teenager
B.A Study on Teenagers in the Future
C.The Slow Growth of Today's Teenagers
D.Different Ideas about Today's Teenagers
