这是一个定语从句,先行词是“three short videos of kuaiban pieces”,指物,在从句中作主语,所以用关系代词“which”引导。
“a way to do sth.”
“play a role in doing sth.”
“in one’s own way”是固定搭配,表示“以某人自己的方式”,这里指年轻人,用“their”。
“hope that...”

Write down good things you did each day before bed. For example, “I finished my homework on time today—very good.” or “I stayed calm and avoided fights—well done!” This habit helps you feel loved 20 .
You can also make your own “energy list”. 21 some sunlight, take a warm bath, go for a walk, or listen to music. Pick one or two small things each day to cheer yourself up.
Loving yourself also means learning to say “ 22 ”. Stay away from relationships that drain (耗尽) your energy, environments that hold you back, or situations that make you doubt whether you matter. This doesn’t mean being selfish (自私). It means understanding that protecting your 23 is the first step to truly loving yourself.
Finally, reflect 24 . Take 20 minutes to ask yourself: “What did I need but didn’t get this week? What helped me grow? How do I want to care for myself next week?” Write down your answers. This helps you 25 your real needs instead of just following others.
“Love you, laoji” teaches us to be our own best friend. So why not start today?

“Save the whales!” That’s what the picture on Jake Smith’s bedroom wall said. Jake liked having a picture that said something important: that showed what he cared. He just never expected to get a chance to save a real whale, one right in his own neighbourhood.
It was a Saturday morning when the newspaper first reported the whale’s coming. Many animals were swimming close to the beach in Jake’s home town. All the local people rushed out to the beach to see them. They were expecting a beautiful show, better than a movie, but nothing they’d have to do anything about.
Then one whale swam directly towards the land. It came in with the waves. When the waves receded, it stayed. Its huge body was on the sand. Suddenly, Jake and his family and all the others were no longer sightseers. They had to become rescuers. A few people ran towards the huge whale. They pushed and tried to force the whale back into the water, but it was no use. The whale was so heavy that they couldn’t move it.
An animal rescue service team soon arrived in a truck with heavy lifting machinery, to help move the whale. Jake and his family couldn’t do much on the beach, so they went back to their house and made sandwiches and hot tea for the rescuers. At least, Jake thought, they could do something.
Back at the beach, they offered the food to the rescuers and were happy to see that it was needed. It was getting dark. Some people lined up their cars along the beach and shone the headlights on the sand. The rescuers would not give up. After trying many times, they were finally able to lift the whale into the water. Everyone cheered when it headed out to the sea. It swam out about a mile and then disappeared for a moment under the sea. Then, in what looked like a jump of joy, it rose high above the water — a thank-you to those who had worked so hard to save its life.
29.What does the beginning of the story tell us about Jake?
A.He didn’t like his neighbourhood.
B.He worked in an animal rescue team.

16-year-old Jared Lepora from the UK has created a robotic arm that imitates the natural movements of a human hand using only ready-made Lego Mindstorms parts. He showcased this invention at the 2025 International Conference on Intelligent Robots and Systems in Hangzhou, China.
The teenager co-authored research recently published along with colleagues including his father Nathan Lepora, a professor of robotics and artificial intelligence at the University of Bristol. Jared used Lego Mindstorms, a Lego robotics kit, to build a Lego version of SoftHand-A, a 3D-printed robot hand introduced in an earlier study.
“My dad has always been working on robotics. He designs robotic systems with complicated mechanisms, that have lots of real-world applications,” Jared said: “My goal was to create an educational design which shows professional mechanisms in a simple educational way understandable by children.”
The design is a playful interpretation of a serious line of robotics research. It is based on the Pisa/IIT SoftHand model, a world-leading development in soft robotics that uses a single tendon (肌腱) system to coordinate finger movements. Jared adapted this concept for educational purposes, replacing the 3D-printed parts and metal bearings with standard Lego components and over 100 plastic Lego bearings. Despite its toy origins, the Lego SoftHand performs remarkably well. Lab tests have shown that it can grip objects with about 90% of the force of a professional 3D-printed SoftHand, and perform open-close cycles in about one second.
Since the hand can be constructed from Lego pieces and uses state-of-the-art design concepts for robotic hands, it has the potential to educate and inspire children to learn about the frontiers of modern robotics. “My generation and younger are the future of robotics, so it is essential that we understand and take interest in this field,” Jared says. “Building a robot hand with your own hands is a great way to learn about robotics.”
33.What can be learned about Jared from the first two paragraphs?
A.He has an inquiring mind. B.He is keen on cutting-edge tech.
C.He is fond of Lego bricks. D.He excels at hands-on projects.
34.What is Jared’s design like?
A.Rare and mind-blowing. B.User-friendly and informative.
C.Creative and educational. D.Cost-effective and professional.
35.What is the basis for Jared’s design?
A.A novel concept of movements. B.Earlier research of Lego robotics.
C.An advanced model in soft robotics. D.The availability of Lego components.
36.What message does the text mainly convey?
A.Professional tech can be simplified for education.
B.Family inspiration fuels scientific innovation.
C.Hands-on practice matters in tech learning.
D.Think outside the Lego box for tech education.

Every time generative artificial intelligence (生成式人工智能) writes an e-mail or creates a picture, the planet pays for it. A single chat with ChatGPT can heat up a server (服务器) so much that it requires a bottle of water to cool it. And recent research in Nature Computational Science points out another worry: AI is a big cause of the world’s growing pile of electronic waste. The study found that generative AI applications alone could add 1.2 million to 5 million metric tons of this hazardous trash (有害垃圾) to the planet by 2030, depending on how quickly the industry grows.
Such a contribution would add to the tens of millions of tons of electronic products the world produces every year. Phones, computers, and other electronic products often contain toxic substances. When improperly thrown away, they can pollute air, water and soil. The UN found that in 2022, about 78% of the world’s e-waste ended up in landfills or at unofficial (非正规) recycling places.
Asaf Tzachor, a researcher at Reichman University, says we must reduce this technology’s environmental influence. The researchers warn that more and more people might use generative AI. Hardware design innovations, meanwhile, could reduce e-waste, but other technological development can make systems cheaper so that more people may use it.
This study’s main value comes from its attention to AI’s broad environmental influences, says Shaolei Ren of the University of California. “We might want these companies to slow down a bit.”
Few countries have strong laws for the e-waste, and those that do often fail to enforce their laws on it. 25 U.S. states have e-waste management policies, but there is no law that requires electronics recycling. Some companies, however, announce to be taking independent action. Microsoft and Google have promised to reach net zero waste by 2030; achieving them would most likely need to reduce or recycle AI related e-waste.
________ AI products are harder to recycle than standard electronics because they often include a lot of private customer information, says Kees Baldé, an e-waste researcher at the U.N. Institute for Training and Research. But big tech companies can afford to both erase those data and properly deal with their electronics, he points out. “Yes, it costs something, but the gains for society are much larger.”
37.How does the writer show that generative AI produces problems?
A.By giving examples. B.By telling stories.
C.By asking questions. D.By showing pictures.
38.What can we learn about e-waste?
A.It pollutes the water seriously because it can’t be recycled.
B.It can be reduced by developing new generative AI systems.
C.It may pollute the environment if improperly thrown away.
D.It is mainly produced by common electronic products like phones.
39.Which of the following is the most suitable for ________?
A.Moreover, there’s another problem as well.
B.As a result, they devoted much money to recycling.
C.However, some companies care little about customers.
D.Instead, the use of AI products is increasing even faster.
40.What will the writer most probably talk about next?
A.The advantages of using generative AI.
B.The history of inventing generative AI.
C.The influence AI has on the environment.
D.The ways to solve AI’s e-waste problem.
