6.Do you know ________ over there?
A.what happen B.what was happened C.what is happening D.what did happen
7.—The dragon boat races are so exciting, but our boat is still behind.
—Don’t worry. I’m sure ________.
A.how are the races going B.who is the winner
C.when the races will end D.that our team will win
how are the races going比赛进行得怎么样,疑问语序;who is the winner获胜者是谁,疑问语序;when the races will end比赛何时结束,陈述语序;that our team will win我们的队会赢,陈述语序。
8.Scientists looked at birds and studied ______.
A.how do they fly B.what do they fly C.how they fly D.what they fly
how do they fly和what do they fly为疑问语序,不符合宾语从句陈述语序的要求;what they fly语义不通,不符合“研究鸟类飞行方式”的语境;how they fly为陈述语序,且语义表达“它们如何飞行”,符合本题语法和语境要求。
9.I ________ think he ________ come tomorrow.
A./; won’t B.don’t; will C./; will be D.don’t; won’t
本句中“他明天不会来”应表达为“I don’t think he will come tomorrow”,从句用肯定形式“will”。
10.I ________ to interrupt others while they are talking.
A.think it is not polite B.don’t think it is polite
C.think it’s polite D.don’t think it’s not polite
根据“to interrupt others while they are talking.”
11.I don't think it's good for parents to give their children ____ they want.
A.whatever B.however C.wherever D.whoever
【答案】A
A. whatever无论什么,不管什么;B. however无论如何;C. wherever无论哪里;D. whoever 无论是谁。

14.I was curious about ________.
A.what life was like in 50 years

D.why a stocking that looked red to some people looked grey to him

what colour you like你喜欢什么颜色;where you will use it你将在哪里使用它;when you will buy one你将什么时候买一个;how much you can afford你能付得起多少钱;根据“If money is not the problem”可知,此处表示钱方面的问题,故选D。

how we’ll get there我们怎么到那儿;what time you want to go你想什么时候去; whom we’ll go with 我们将和谁一起去;which cinema you’ll choose你选择去哪家电影院。根据“Could you tell me …?”和答语“Just the two of us.”

A.that; that B.if; if C.that; if D.if; that
根据“I don’t doubt”可知,此句为否定句,只能用that引导宾语从句,排除B和D;根据“but I doubt”可知,此句为肯定句,常用if引导宾语从句。故选C。

The ink brush is a traditional tool for writing and painting in ancient China. It’s also one of the “Four Treasures of the Chinese Study”. The earliest ink brush was found more than 2,500 years ago.
The Han Dynasty (202BC — 220AD) is an important period for the development of the ink brush, and it is also the time when Cai Lun improved the paper-making method. People began to widely use ink brushes at that time. Meanwhile, the first book on how to produce ink brushes came out.
In the Yuan and Ming Dynasties, many ink brush experts got together in Huzhou of Zhejiang province and the brush-producing industry developed rapidly. Huzhou has been the center of brushing making since the Qing Dynasty. Ink brushes produced there, called the Hubi, are the best known.
The ink brush is made up of the stalk and the nib. The stalk is usually made of bamboo, wood or other valuable materials. The nib is made of fine, soft animal hair including three main kinds: rabbit’s hair, wool and weasel’s hair People often call these nibs tuhao, yanghao, and langhao in Chinese.
The ink brush is made in three sizes: big, medium or small. Most works of calligraphy (书法) are written with a medium-sized brush. Usually, painters and calligraphers have several kinds of brushes on hand to meet personal purposes and preferences (喜好).

The breadcrumbs were well-cooked and burnt, which is how they survived for so long. The researchers dated the crumbs and found they were roughly 14, 400 years old. This means that people in the Stone Age (石器时代) were baking bread.
[Paragraph 2] The researchers said humans were making bread 4,000 years earlier than scientists thought. The people who baked the bread lived in Jordan from around 12.500 to 9,500 B C. They were hunters who lived thousands of years before humans settled down to become farmers.
[Paragraph 3] According to Guarino, researchers earlier thought that ancient farmers learned to plant cereal (谷物) plants, which bakers then turned into bread. The new finding, however, changes the timeline, showing that at least some people were making bread from wild grain.
[Paragraph 4l The researchers discovered 24 burnt breadcrumbs. They analyzed them and found they were made from cereal plants such as barley, wheat and oats. Lead researcher, Dr Amaia Otaegui, said the bread took a long time to make. The ancient Jordanians(约旦人) began by grinding (磨) cereals into a fine flour. They then mixed the flour with water to make dough. After that, they baked it in the hot ashes of a fireplace or on a hot stone. The bread looked like the flat bread still made across the middle East (中东) today.
[Paragraph 5] Another researcher said the bread could be one reason for the agricultural revolution (农业革命) starting. Stone Age people realized it was easier and more convenient to farm the wheat for bread instead of gathering it from the wild.
