Activity 2
What kind of mindset do you have: a fixed mindset, a growth mindset, or both? Why do you think so?
I think I mostly have a growth mindset. When I meet difficult English words or grammar, I don't give up. I always try to look them up, ask my teacher for help, and keep practicing. I believe I can improve my English little by little.

Read and Understand
Hello everyone! Today I want to talk about two mindsets: fixed mindset and growth mindset.
First, students with a fixed mindset believe they can’t change their abilities. They are afraid of failure and often quit learning. They only care about grades, and they feel worried about learning.
On the other hand, students with a growth mindset believe they can always improve. They never give up when facing difficulties. They work hard until they get better. They value effort more than grades, and they are confident learners.
Thank you!

2.What writing method does the writer use to make his points clear, e.g. a timeline, cause and effect, or comparing and contrasting? Find the key words in the article to support your idea.
The writer uses comparing and contrasting (对比法) to make the points clear.
On the other hand (used to contrast the two mindsets)
Unlike students with a fixed mindset (directly compares the two groups)
Students with a fixed mindset... vs Students with a growth mindset... (parallel structure for comparison)
Activity 7 Do you agree with the writer that people may change between a fixed and a growth mindset? Give examples to support your opinion.
Think and share
I agree with the writer. People can change between a fixed and a growth mindset. For example, when I failed a math test, I thought “I’m bad at math” (fixed mindset). But later, I asked the teacher for help and practiced more. Now I believe I can improve (growth mindset).
