Dear Ester,
How are you doing? I'm really excited to tell you about my fun park trip with my mum and brother last Saturday! When we got there, I was amazed — there were all kinds of rides everywhere. First, I tried the bumper cars (碰碰车). They went around, bumping into each other. Then I got on a red plane. It went in circles, and it felt like I was flying! My brother asked me to go on a roller coaster (过山车), but I was too scared. Later, Mum bought us candy floss (棉花糖). It was really sticky (黏的) — it got all over my hair, and my brother laughed at me! Before I knew it, it was time to go home. I wished I could stay longer and go on more rides. Good news: Mum will take us to the park again next week! I really hope you can join us — it'll be so much fun.
Yours,
Betty

Have you ever wondered what makes people happy? What’s the secret? Is it money, good health, loving relationships, owning the latest mobile phones or simply chocolate?
The latest World Happiness Report says that money is not the key to happiness. Happiness depends more on the things you have rather than getting more things. Money can buy things like mobile phones, but the happiness it brings is often short-lasting.
The report also says real happiness comes from intangible (无形的) things. One important thing is human relationships. People who get along well with family and friends often feel happier. Performing acts of kindness also makes you happy. For example, helping a friend in need or carrying a neighbor’s shopping bag will make you feel on top of the world.
It’s not surprising that health is another key to happiness. A healthy diet (日常饮食) is important, and so is regular exercise. Exercising for twenty to thirty minutes a day helps you reduce stress and makes you feel more positive.
Sleep also affects happiness. If you don't get enough sleep, you will be tired and in a bad mood(心情). Besides, tiredness affects your ability to focus on studies and may slow your growth. So if you want to be happy and do well at school, try to sleep at least eight hours a night.
Now you know the theory(理论). It's time to put it all into practice.
( )28. How does the writer start the passage?
A. By telling a story. B. By giving examples. C. By asking questions.
( )29. What does the latest World Happiness Report say about money?
A. It is the key to happiness. B. It brings short-lasting happiness.
C. It is the best way to help a friend in need.
( )30. Which paragraph mainly discusses the importance of human relationships?
A. Paragraph 2. B. Paragraph 3. C. Paragraph 4.
( )31. What is the writer's main purpose of writing this passage?
A. To show what brings real happiness. B. To compare different types of happiness.
C. To offer advice on how to manage money.
