My Ways to Improve Myself
As the old saying goes, "I reflect on myself three times a day", which reminds me to keep improving myself.
First, in study, I review my lessons every night and check my mistakes, which helps me make great progress. Second, I learn to be more patient and kind to others, and always think twice before speaking to avoid hurting others. Besides, I keep doing exercise to keep healthy and learn life skills like cooking to be more independent.
These ways help me become a better person, and I will keep reflecting and improving in the future.

★Try to stay calm. The first step is to try to stay as calm as you can. If you get upset

★ Have a relationship with your child’s teacher. Try your best to build a good relationship with your child’s teacher. Start off at the beginning of the school year and stay in touch as the year progresses.

People are so busy these days that many people have no time to cook. This becomes a problem, because most families love home cooking. The food tastes good and warm, and a family meal brings everyone together. In some families, meals are often the only time everyone sees one another at the same time.
Another reason people enjoy home cooking is that it is often a way of showing love. A parent who makes some cookies is not just satisfying a child's sweet tooth. She or he is sending a message. The message says, "I care about you enough to spend an hour making cookies that you will eat up in 15 minutes if I let you."
There is also something about the smell of home cooking. The smell of home cooking pleases people of all ages. It makes most of us feel good and loved—even if we are in the ones doing the cooking. "Next time you smell a cake making, stop for a moment and pay attention to your mood(心情)."
31. Why do fewer people cook now? .
A. They like to eat in restaurants.
B. Many people are too busy.
C. Many people don't like cooking.

Environment is becoming more serious. Watching news about the environment on TV can make people feel terrible. The problems seem so big that it's difficult to imagine how persons can do anything about them. Rebecca Hosking, however, thought differently.
Rebecca is a wildlife camera woman and she was filming a documentary for the BBC in the Pacific Ocean when she saw something that made her cry: for quite a lot of dead birds that had died because they had eaten some plastic that is thrown into the sea each year. Beaches that used to be beautiful were covered with plastic toys, bottles, pens—every plastic thing you can think of.
Rebecca decided she had to do something.Back at home she thought about what she could do to help do with the problem of throwaway plastic. In her hometown of Modbury, she asked local shop owners to stop using plastic bags in their shops.
Plastic bags are used everywhere in the UK. The numbers are amazing. The UK uses nearly 17,000,000,000 plastic bags each year. And the bags can take a very long time to break down because they are chemical rather than natural, so each year the sea and the environment become more and more polluted.
To Rebecca's surprise, the shop owners agreed and Modbury became the first no-using plastic bag town in the UK. Instead, shops offered cotton bags or paper bags. Other towns around UK followed Modbury's example and no more use plastic bags. It won't deal with all of the world's environment problems but it shows that there is something we can do and that one person can make a big change with a strong enough decision.
36. From the first paragraph we may know ______.
A. people are clever enough to do something about the environment
B. people have no idea on how to protect the environment
C. people are doing a lot to protect the environment
37. Rebecca cried one day when she ______.

B. was listening to BBC news
C. found the ocean was polluted
38. According to the passage, Rebecca ______.
A. works as an actress in films
B. comes from a town in the UK
C. has never used plastic bags
39. The passage mainly tells us that ______.
A. people usually feel terrible while watching TV
B. we can do something about environment problems
C. plastic bags are used in all towns except Modbury
40. The best title for the passage might be ______.
A. The dead birds B. Plastic Bags C. The Town of Modbur

第四部分 写作(共两节,满分30分)
第一节 阅读表达(共5小题,每小题2分,计10分)
Exam time is the most stressful period of the year. You have worked all school term on your classes and now it's the time to prove what you have learned. With so much at stake (处于成败关头), it is easy to get stressed about your exams. However, with the right amount of hard work and focus you can pass your tests with ease!
When I was in school, I used to get very stressed over my exams. So did my friends. Some people stopped eating and others ate too much! Some gave up and others burned themselves out! The most important thing to remember when studying is not to feel frightened! Take the middle path—stay calm, eat healthily and get a rest. Pushing yourself too hard is just as dangerous as not studying enough. A tired, overworked brain is just as useless as a lazy, empty one!
So, what should you do? Arrange a time each day for study and a time for relaxation. You may have less time to relax than usual, but you still need to let your brain rest for a few moments and get plenty of sleep. If you are tired, information will not stick in your memory. Finally eat healthy foods that fuel your body and mind.
It does no good to think too much about your exams. Some students may think that the rest of their life depends on them. That's not true. Instead, just view the exams as another difficulty you will overcome. You have overcome all kinds of difficulties in your life so far. With the right amount of work and focus, you will pass your exams with flying colors! High school is right around the corner!
66. What is the most stressful period of the year?
67. How can we pass the tests with ease?
68. What is as dangerous as not studying enough?
69. Why should we get enough sleep during exam time?
70. How do you deal with (处理) exam stress?
