The rise of AI doctors is not like something from science fiction anymore. It’s really happening now. In different parts of China, AI doctors are bringing big changes to the medical field.
Last year, Beijing Children’s Hospital brought in the country’s first AI pediatrician (儿科医生). An 8-year-old boy had a sudden and serious illness. Thirteen top experts were trying hard to find the best treatment. At the same time, the AI doctor came up with a treatment plan and it was like the human doctors’ thoughts.
In Shandong, a couple was very distressed when their child had a high fever. They decided to try DeepSeek before going to the hospital. After putting in the description of the illness, the AI said it was probably a bacterial infection (细菌感染) and suggested some medicine. When they went to the hospital, the doctor gave exactly the same medicine.
Even in some villages of Jiangsu, AI doctors help patients know about their illnesses and make it easier for disabled people to move around in the hospital.
All these examples show us two important things AI doctors can do. They can help top doctors make better choices and they can also make healthcare easier for everyone in the country. When you first hear about the Dead Sea, it might sound scary, but the truth is quite different. Let’s get closer to the Dead Sea and learn more about it.
The Dead Sea is located in Southwest Asia. It is about 50 kilometers long and 15 kilometers wide at its widest point. It sits at about 430 meters below sea level, making it the lowest point on earth’s land.
What’s interesting is that the Dead Sea isn’t actually a sea. It’s a lake. The salt concentration (盐浓度) in it is more than 30 percent, which is about eight times saltier than typical seawater. This makes it one of the saltiest lakes of water on earth.
The Dead Sea stays so salty because of its special natural conditions. Each year, it receives very little rainfall, and only a small amount of freshwater flows into it. And the hot weather around the Dead Sea causes the freshwater to evaporate (蒸发) quickly, which makes the salt concentration even higher. For these reasons, it is also known as the Salt Sea.
If you are to swim in the Dead Sea, you won’t see any sea life — no plants or animals. The high salt concentration makes it impossible for them to live there. That’s actually why it’s called the Dead Sea.
However, don’t let the name or not having any sea life scare you. Even if you fall into the Dead Sea and can’t swim, you won’t die. The high concentration of salt in the Dead Sea allows anyone to float well, without the need for life buoys (救生圈) . In fact, many people visit the Dead Sea every year on vacation. If you walk along the lakeside, you’ll likely see many people floating in the water, reading books or magazines.
66. What do we know about the Dead Sea?
A.It is the largest place in Asia. B.It is the widest sea in the world.
C.It is the deepest point in America. D.It is the lowest lake on earth’s land.
67. What makes the Dead Sea so salty?
A.A lot of seawater runs into it.
B.Human activities improve the salt levels.
C.Little rainfall and quick evaporation of freshwater.
D.The high temperature stops the water from freezing.
68. Why do people call it the Dead Sea?
A.Because they cannot swim in it. B.Because it has something dangerous.
C.Because it has the low salt concentration. D.Because no plants or animals can live in it.
69. What does the underlined word “float” probably mean?
A.Sing in the room. B.Stay above water. C.Fly in the sky. D.Walk on the road.
70. What can we infer from the last paragraph?
A.If people can’t swim, they’ll still be safe in the Dead Sea.
B.The Dead Sea is dangerous for people who can’t swim.
C.People feel scared when swimming in the Dead Sea.
D.A life buoy is necessary when swimming in the Dead Sea.

When you finally finish your work and get to relax, what do you do? Do you lie on your bed and play with your phone? Many people find that this doesn't make them happy. Instead, they feel bored when they are on their phones.
Different from what many people may think, play isn’t just a waste of time. Having the ability to play and relax during your leisure (休闲) time is important. “Leisure doesn’t improve the quality of life if you don’t know how to make good use of it.” James Wallman, the writer of Time and How to Spend It, explains that some experiences are “junk experiences” while others are like “superfoods”. He also points out that “superfood” activities help you live in the moment and achieve a higher “leisure quotient (LQ,玩商)”.
LQ is an index (指数) to describe one’s ability to relax and play. A high LQ usually means that a person can control life well, and know how to keep a relaxing lifestyle that makes him healthier and happier, according to China Daily.
Study shows that people with high LQ scores feel happier and generally avoid being down and other mental illnesses. At the same time, another famous scientist also points out that those who can play well will succeed.
Instead of watching short videos, people with high LQ scores choose activities that suit their interests, giving them continuous positive reflections. According to Wallman, examples of this positive reflection include: a story you can share with others, a new skill, improved relationships and so on.
71. What does the underlined word “it” in Paragraph 2 refer to?
A.Leisure. B.Life. C.The phone. D.The book.
72. What is Paragraph 2 mainly about?
A.When is the best time to play?
B.How can we live in the moment meaningfully?
C.What are “superfood” activities?
D.Why should we use leisure time properly?
73. Which of the following is TRUE according to the passage? (SH=sense of happiness)
A. B. C. D.
74. According to the passage, who probably has the lowest LQ score?

D.Tom who often shares his trip experiences.

六、任务型阅读(每小题2分,共10分)
One day, you open the fridge and find some moldy (发霉的) food. When you plan to throw it away, your mother stops you. 76 Is it safe to do this?
Mold (霉菌) can grow on almost all kinds of food. 77 Mold is usually green, white, black or grey. Also, moldy food tastes quite bad and it’s not safe to eat. If you find mold in soft food, just throw it away. Soft food, such as bread, tomatoes or hot dogs, usually holds water. This makes mold easily grow below its surface (表面). Bacteria (细菌) can also grow along with it.
78 The mold can’t grow very far inside this kind of food. According to the BBC, you should cut about 2.5 cm around and below the mold to remove it. It’s OK to cut the moldy parts out of hard food and eat the rest. But if the food is totally covered with mold, you should still throw it away.
79 But some kinds of mold can be used to make food. For example, penicillium (青霉菌) can be used to make many types of cheeses, such as blue cheese. 80
So, when it comes to moldy food, remember to check whether it’s soft or hard before you decide what to do with it.
A.Most kinds of mold are bad for us.
B.It’s difficult for mold to get into them.
C.She cuts off the moldy part and eats the rest.
D.It makes food soft and changes its color.
E.But it’s easy to remove mold from hard food.
F.These cheeses are safe to eat and they’re quite delicious as well.
