Chitu (赤兔) is also called “Red Hare,” because it had a red coat and ran very fast like a hare. At first, Chitu’s owner was Lü Bu, a warlord of the Three Kingdoms period. After Lü Bu’s defeat, it was passed to a heroic general called Guan Yu. Legend says Chitu could run “a thousand li” (about 500 km) in one day! What super speed!
Dilu (的卢) was special with a white spot on its forehead. In legends, it saved its owner, Liu Bei, by running fast and jumping across a wide river during an escape. Dilu’s story later became an allusion (典故) and was widely used by writers and poets.
Wuzhui (乌骓) was a strong and brave horse of Xiang Yu, the “Hegemon-King of Western Chu.” Its body was pure black and smooth like a bolt of silk, while its four hooves were as white as snow. 【2题详解】
第二段说明:“In legends, it saved its owner, Liu Bei, by running fast and jumping across a wide river during an escape.”,表明的卢是通过飞快奔跑并跃过一条大河,在逃亡中救下了刘备。
【3题详解】
第三段描述:“Its body was pure black and smooth like a bolt of silk, while its four hooves were as white as snow.”,由此可知乌骓通体乌黑光滑如绸缎,四蹄雪白。
(B)
Recently, Chinese scientists introduced a tiny drone (无人机) that looks just like a mosquito. This little drone was made to watch places secretly, and it has caught wide attention after being shown on CCTV7.
What makes this drone special? First, its appearance—wings and legs as thin as hair—makes it almost impossible to tell apart from real insects. Second, its small size gives it amazing abilities: it can slip into almost any space, from narrow gaps to crowded rooms, without being noticed. Though it was mostly made for military spy (军事间谍) work, many people think it could also be used by the government for public monitoring.
Let’s talk about its details. The drone was only 1.3 cm long—about the size of a grain (谷粒) of rice—and could be controlled easily with a smartphone. It had leaf-shaped wings, three small legs, and flew much more quietly than bigger drones. Its creators say it’s so well-hidden that even careful observers might miss it. Plus, it can do many tasks: for example, flying into disaster zones which are too dangerous or hard for humans to reach, or checking air quality when equipped with small sensors (传感器).
Of course, this “mosquito drone” isn’t perfect. While its small size is its biggest strength, it’s also a weakness. Because it’s so tiny, its battery (电池) doesn’t last long, maybe just a few minutes. And since it can’t carry heavy things, it can only use a few simple sensors or tools at a time. All in all, this invention shows how Chinese scientists are using technology to create smart tools. Maybe in the future, such small drones will help with rescue work, environmental checks, or even daily tasks—though we’ll have to wait and see how they’re used.
4. How do scientists make the drone hard to be noticed in a room?
A. By keeping it silent when flying. B. By controlling it from a distance.
C. By making it look like real insects and very tiny. D. By making it good at flying in the dark.
5. What problem does the drone’s small size cause?
A. It is easily affected by strong winds. B. It can only work for a very short time.
C. It is difficult for people to notice. D. It cannot fly as fast as bigger drones.
6. Which sentence uses “slip” with the same meaning as the underlined word?
slip/slip/v. ①滑落,滑倒 ②悄悄地移动 ③过得飞快
A. Elderly people sometimes slip on icy roads in winter. B. The hours slip past when I’m reading a good book.
C. The photo slips from Maria’s hand and falls onto the floor. D. The cat slips into the room while nobody is watching.
7. What can we infer about the possible future of the mosquito drone?
A. It will soon replace large drones. B. It will mainly be used for military work.
C. It may be used in more helpful ways. D. It can’t fly in open areas.
【答案】4. C 5. B 6. D 7. C
【解析】
【导语】本文是一篇说明文,介绍了中国科学家研发的“蚊子无人机”,讲解了它的外观、特点、优缺点及未来应用前景。
【4题详解】
根据原文第二段“First, its appearance—wings and legs as thin as hair—makes it almost impossible to tell it apart from real insects” 可知,科学家通过让无人机长得和真昆虫一模一样、体型极小,来让它难以被发现。
【5题详解】
根据原文第四段“Because it’s so tiny, its battery doesn’t last long, maybe just a few minutes.” 可知,它的微型体积导致电池续航极短,只能工作很短的时间。
【6题详解】
文中第二段“it can slip into almost any space”里的“slip” 意为“悄悄移动、溜进”。选项D“The cat slips into the room while nobody is watching.” 中的“slips into”同样表示 “悄悄溜进”,和原文含义一致。
【7题详解】
根据最后一段“Maybe in the future, such small drones will help with rescue work, environmental checks, or even daily tasks” 可知,未来这种无人机可能会被应用在更多有帮助的场景中。

The documentary Heaven and Earth, Heroes’ Valor (《天地英雄气》) came out earlier this year. It honors the heroes who lost their lives in the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression (中国人民抗日战争). The film was made by China Central Television. It uses true stories and AI technology to bring history to life.
The documentary shows 12 heroes and groups. They include General Zhang Zizhong and the Five Heroes of Langya Mountain. “These people show the very heart of China’s wartime spirit—patriotism (爱国主义), courage and strong beliefs,” said Ren Chao, the director.
To connect with young people, the team used AI. One example is the part about Zuo Quan, a general who was killed in a battle (战役) in 1942. He only left one family photo. After many tries, the team turned it into a short AI video. In the video, Zuo holds his daughter and smiles. His wife looks at the girl with love, and the child looks at her father with lovely eyes. “This AI video has moved people online. It even made many cry,” said Ren.
Ren hopes young people can learn from these heroes. “Young people today may not face real wars, but they still need power, courage and love for their country,” said Ren.
8. What can we learn about the documentary?
A. It includes all the heroes in the war. B. It uses true stories to remember heroes.
C. It is made by young directors online. D. It mainly shows historical pictures of war.

A. To tell funny stories about heroes. B. To show his deep love for his family.
C. To explain how AI is used in the film. D. To introduce his achievements in the war.
10. What can we learn from Ren’s words in the last paragraph?
A. The spirit of heroes is still important for the young.
B. The latest AI technology is the key point of the film.
C. Young people should be soldiers to protect the country.
D. Making documentaries is the best way to remember history.
11. What is the best title (标题) for the text?
A. Famous heroes in Chinese history B. How to make a good war documentary
C. The new development of AI technology D. A new documentary brings heroes to life
【答案】8. B 9. C 10. A 11. D

Paper cutting is one of the most traditional folk arts in China, which has a history of more than 1500 years. This art form is simple but full of creativity, and it has been loved by people for generations. However, with the development of modern society, paper cutting is facing the problem of being forgotten by young people. In recent years, Chinese artists and cultural workers have been trying their best to protect and inherit this precious intangible cultural heritage, and the government has also given a lot of support to the development of paper cutting art. In 2006, Chinese paper cutting was included in the first batch of China’s intangible cultural heritage list, and in 2009, it was added to UNESCO’s Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity list.
Most paper cutting works are made of red paper, because red stands for joy and good luck in Chinese culture. The tools for paper cutting are very simple—usually a pair of scissors or a carving knife. First, the artist draws the pattern on the red paper, and then cuts or carves the paper according to the pattern. The patterns of paper cutting are various, including animals, plants, figures, auspicious symbols and traditional stories. Skilled paper cutting artists can cut complex patterns without drawing them first, and their hands move quickly and accurately.
Paper cutting artists not only need to have good hand skills, but also need to have a deep understanding of Chinese traditional culture. Because most paper cutting patterns are closely related to traditional customs, festivals and stories, only by understanding the cultural connotation can they create works with soul. Many paper cutting artists are also willing to teach this skill to others, hoping that more people can learn and inherit it.
Zhang Li is a young paper cutting artist who has made great contributions to the inheritance of this art. She has innovated the traditional paper cutting art by combining it with modern elements, such as adding cartoon images and modern life scenes to the paper cutting patterns. She also uses different colors of paper instead of just red paper to make the works more colorful. What’s more, she has opened online courses to teach paper cutting to people all over the country. “Paper cutting is a treasure of Chinese culture. We need to make it keep up with the times so that more young people will love it,” said Zhang Li. “It’s our responsibility to pass on this traditional art to the next generation.”
12. From paragraph 1, we can know that ________.
A. paper cutting has a short history in China B. paper cutting was added to UNESCO’s heritage list in 2006
C. people are trying to protect and inherit paper cutting art D. young people today love paper cutting art very much
13. We can learn the ________ of making paper cutting works from paragraph 2.
A. process B. reason C. problem D. influence
14. What has Zhang Li done to innovate paper cutting art?
A. She only uses red paper to make works. B. She combines it with modern elements.
C. She only creates traditional patterns. D. She stops teaching paper cutting online.

V. Reading Expression (共5小题,每小题2分,共10分)
Nowadays, a large number of young people have the habit of going to bed very late. They are commonly called “night owls (夜猫子)” because they are active at night just like owls. There are various reasons behind this phenomenon. Some students stay up late to review lessons and prepare for important tests, hoping to get better grades. Many others are crazy about watching interesting videos or playing exciting online games on their phones, which makes them forget the time easily. Additionally, some young people just want to enjoy some quiet time alone at night after a busy day, as it’s the only moment they can relax without disturbance.
However, staying up late brings many negative effects on our bodies and minds. The next morning, we may feel extremely tired and lack energy, which makes it hard to focus on classes or study efficiently. What’s worse, we are more likely to feel annoyed or unhappy for no reason. If we often fail to get enough sleep, our immune system will become weaker, making us get sick more easily. In the long run, it can even cause serious health problems and affect our daily life greatly.
So how can we get rid of this bad habit? First of all, try to go to bed at the same time every night, even on weekends. This helps our bodies form a regular biological clock. Second, avoid using phones or computers at least one hour before sleep, because the blue light from these devices will affect our sleep quality. Remember, good sleep is essential for teenagers’ growth and health. It helps our brains rest and improves our memory and learning ability. Let’s stop being night owls and develop a healthy sleep habit.

【答案】
例文
Should students use AI in their studies?
Does AI help students learn, or does it bring new challenges? Different people hold different opinions.
I believe students should use AI wisely in their studies. Firstly, AI tools can provide quick answers and explanations, which helps us understand difficult concepts faster. Secondly, it offers personalized learning plans, making study more efficient. However, we must avoid over-reliance. AI should assist thinking, not replace it. We need to check information and develop our own skills. Used properly, AI is a powerful learning partner. Teachers can show students how to use AI wisely—like using it to find ideas but writing their own words.
In short, AI is useful if we use it the right way.

Chitu (赤兔) is also called “Red Hare,” because it had a red coat and ran very fast like a hare. At first, Chitu’s owner was Lü Bu, a warlord of the Three Kingdoms period.

9. Why is General Zuo Quan mentioned in paragraph 3?

A. The History of Chinese Folk Arts B. Modern Art in China
C. Protect and Inherit Paper Cutting D. How to Make Paper Cutting Works
