Alan can play ping- pong, but he can't play tennis.
He can speak French and Italian.
Can you drive?
He is so tall that he can touch the ceiling.
I can’t remember where I put it.
You can use my pencil.
You can’t play football here. (mustn’t)
-- Can I have a break? --Yes, you can.
Can you open the window, please?
It can be very cold in winter here.
2.can和be able to都可以表示有能力: I can swim. = I am able to swim.
区别:① 将来的能力,只能用will be able to
e.g. I will be able to speak better if I practice more.
② 过去的能力,可以用could 和 was / were able to
I could swim when I was eight.
Cindy can play the guitar.
My little sister can't speak now.
否定回答: No, 主语+ can't.
如: —Can you swim?
— Yes,I can./ No, I can't.
如: What can they do?
How many instruments can you play?
