There is an old saying, “The grass looks greener on the other side of the fence.” Nowadays, many Chinese teenagers seem to feel the same way. They prefer to enjoy American fast food, Japanese cartoons and Korean TV shows. It is common to hear them say, “Let’s go to KFC for dinner and then watch some Japanese cartoons!” When people see young Chinese buy Japanese cartoon books, watch Korean soap operas, and even celebrate western holidays, some begin to worry.
Foreign books and soap operas are good, but actually, Chinese writers and actors are just as good. As for holidays, Christmas is enjoyable, but it can never mean as much to Chinese people as Spring Festival and Mid-Autumn Festival, which are deeply rooted (扎根) in Chinese culture. Besides, China has many cultural treasures of its own, such as calligraphy(书法) and Beijing Opera. And let’s not forget the part of Chinese culture I like best: its friendliness. Not all countries are as warm and welcoming as China.
It’s good to enjoy other cultures and to learn from them, but they can never replace (取代) your own culture. Although some people become worried about that, I don’t think it’s an important problem. Will we develop faster without learning from other countries? Will Chinese people live more happily without American fast food? What truly matters is that while Chinese kids explore (探索) other cultures and have fun, they also need to learn more about our own culture and be proud of being Chinese.
24.What does the old saying mean in the text?
A.Everything is connected.
B.Foreign things seem better.
C.People often want to have more.
25.Why does the writer mention Spring Festival and Mid-Autumn Festival?
A.To explain they are as nice as Christmas.
B.To encourage us to celebrate Chinese festivals.
C.To show they are more meaningful for Chinese.
26.What does the underlined word “matter” in the last paragraph mean?
27.Which of the following would the writer most probably agree with?
A.Respect different cultures.
B.Draw on the advantages of others.
C.Learn about other cultures, love our own.
【答案】24.B 25.C 26.A 27.C
25.第二段明确指出:“Christmas is enjoyable, but it can never mean as much to Chinese people as Spring Festival and Mid-Autumn Festival, which are deeply rooted in Chinese culture.”,因此作者提及春节、中秋节,是为了说明它们对中国人来说更有意义。
26.最后一段划线词所在句为:“What truly matters is that while Chinese kids explore other cultures and have fun, they also need to learn more about our own culture and be proud of being Chinese.”,结合上下文逻辑,此处强调的是“真正重要的事”,因此“matter”意为“重要”。
27.文章末段点明核心观点:“It’s good to enjoy other cultures and to learn from them, but they can never replace your own culture... they also need to learn more about our own culture and be proud of being Chinese.”,表明作者认同学习外来文化,也要热爱我们自己的文化。
C
On a basketball court, Memettursunjan Erkin quickly ran past his opponent (对手), turned around, and threw a perfect pass to his teammate. Small in size, he didn’t stand out at first glance—until someone noticed his prosthetic leg.
Born in 2013 in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, Memettursunjan came into the world missing part of his right leg. As a child, he often stayed by the window, watching other children run and play. “Walking on a prosthetic leg was hard, so I usually stayed at home,” he explained.
Everything changed when Memettursunjan was six. He watched a video of NBA star Stephen Curry, who wasn’t the tallest or the strongest player, but was fearless and skillful. The video deeply inspired him.
However, the basketball court was ruthless (无情的). “I couldn’t beat anyone,” Memettursunjan recalled. “I even thought about giving up.” But he didn’t. “I cried at night, but the next morning, I told myself: real men don’t quit.”
He hung a simple basketball hoop on a tree outside his home and practiced for hours every day. He learned to play smarter: if he couldn’t run faster than others, he could focus on improving his skills; if he couldn’t jump very high, he could pass the ball really well.
His hard work paid off. He got into the school team, not because of others’ pity for him, but because of his perseverance (毅力) and skills.
Now, Memettursunjan has found not only confidence, but also friendship. “Basketball gives me something more than a game,” he said. “It has helped me find myself.”
28.Why did Memettursunjan often stay at home when he was a child?
A.Because he didn’t like playing outside.
B.Because he had no friends to play with.
C.Because walking with a prosthetic leg was difficult.
29.What made Memettursunjan start to love basketball?
A.A video of Stephen Curry inspired him.
B.He wanted to make more friends on a basketball court.
C.His parents encouraged him to play basketball after school.
30.What can we learn from Memettursunjan’s practice?
A.He only practiced when he felt happy.
B.He tried to improve his skills in smart ways.
C.He focused only on running faster than others.
31.What is the main idea of the passage?
A.It is easy to join a school basketball team.
B.Basketball is the most popular sport for children.
C.A boy with a disability became confident through hard work.
【答案】28.C 29.A 30.B 31.C
28.原文第二段:“Walking on a prosthetic leg was hard, so I usually stayed at home”,明确提到他小时候待在家是因为戴假肢走路很困难。
29.原文第三段:“He watched a video of NBA star Stephen Curry, who wasn’t the tallest or the strongest player, but was fearless and skillful. The video deeply inspired him.”,提到他6岁看了NBA球星Stephen Curry的视频后深受鼓舞,一切发生改变,推动他开始接触篮球。
30.原文第五段:“He learned to play smarter: if he couldn’t run faster than others, he could focus on improving his skills; if he couldn’t jump very high, he could pass the ball really well.”
Many people think they need to walk 10,000 steps a day to stay healthy. We often see this number on smartwatches and health apps. 32 .
A new study says you might not need that many steps. In fact, just walking 7,000 steps a day could be enough. 33 . They found that people who walked 7,000 steps a day had better health than those who walked only 2,000 steps. So why do so many people try to walk 10,000 steps a day?
34 . It began with a Japanese ad in the 1960s. A company was selling a step-counter (计步器) called “Manpo-kei” (meaning “10,000 steps metre”). The number sounded nice, so it quickly became popular. Today, many fitness devices (健身设备) still use it as a goal. But 7,000 steps may be easier for most people. The study even found that walking 4,000 steps a day was good for health.
The World Health Organization (WHO) says children aged 5 to 17 should do at least 60 minutes of exercise each day. 35 . Just try to move more when you can!
A.This idea didn’t come from science!
B.Scientists studied 160,000 people worldwide.
C.But for some people, walking that much is too hard.
D.Instead of 10,000 steps, 7,000 a day is enough for health.
E.So maybe don’t worry too much about your number of steps.
【答案】32.C 33.B 34.A 35.E
此处用“But for some people, walking that much is too hard.”,能自然引出下文新结论。
此处应填入“This idea didn’t come from science!”,作为过渡句引出下文历史背景。
此处应填入“So maybe don’t worry too much about your number of steps.”,与结尾建议相呼应。
III.

The man behind the stall (小摊) is Li Junyong, 38 as “Chicken Steak Brother”. He has been selling chicken steaks near a middle school for years. What keeps customers coming back is not just the taste, but his 39 way of speaking. Lines like “You are worth all the good things in life, including my chicken steak”, “I’ll fry it to perfection—if I don’t get it right, I won’t forgive (原谅) myself” and “You can say no to me, 40 not my chicken steak” have made him a local favorite. His chicken steaks are 41 —costing 5 yuan for students and 6 yuan for others. Some customers joked that his chicken is “worth 60 or even 600 yuan in emotional (情绪的) 42 .” Many people wanted to buy his chicken during the National Day holidays, so each customer could only 43 two pieces at a time.
Li’s stall usually opens after 3 p.m. daily. To 44 the growing crowds, the local government has sent helpers to keep the order at his stall. Li’s story shows that even a small street food business can 45 to a city.

36.B 37.A 38.B 39.C 40.A 41.C 42.A 43.B 44.B 45.C
结合后文“wait up to four hours just to get a serving(等4小时买一份)”,可知是“排队等候”,in line“排队”贴合语境;in surprise“惊讶地”、in fact“事实上”无“排队”含义。
be known as“被称作;作为…… ”、be used as“被用作”无“称号”含义。
后文举例“You are worth all the good things in life, including my chicken steak(你值得世间所有美好,包括我的鸡排)”等话语,轻松有趣,体现“幽默的”说话方式;simple“简单的”、formal“正式的”与例句话语风格不符。
产生影响”是固定搭配;put an end to“结束”、set an example to“为……
enjoy; an; smooth; who; control; that; amaze; dancer; more; such
A Yangge folk dance performed by robots during the Spring Festival Gala of the Year of the Snake has been 46 by people, because it used a creative way, mixed cultural traditions with high technology.
In the performance,16 robots dressed in northeastern Chinese style floral padded jackets (花棉袄), performed together with 47 from China’s Xinjiang Art College. The robots, which look like humans, could do 48 than just move around. They twisted (扭动) their bodies 49 , kicked their legs like humans do, and even spun (旋转) handkerchiefs (手帕) in their hands. Their actions were so quick and skillful and everyone was 50 .
Those 51 performed on the big stage were called Unitree H1. They are a special product made by Unitree. The company said that these robots use AI-driven technology to 52 their whole bodies. They are so strong 53 they can use a lot of force, up to 360 N·m, to move their joints (关节). They can see everything around them clearly and understand where they are. Moreover, they can “understand” music through advanced AI algorithms, which means they can change their dance moves in real-time to match the music perfectly.
Unitree named these robots “Fuxi,” which sounds like the name of 54 ancestor in Chinese culture. This name is a symbol of the beautiful wishes that technology brings to us. Everyone who watched the performance was wowed by how technology and tradition could come together in 55 a wonderful way.
46.enjoyed 47.dancers 48.more 49.smoothly 50.amazed 51.who 52.control 53.that 54.an 55.such
空格在代词Those之后,指代前文说的机器人,在后半句作主语,所以用who,“who performed on the big stage”作定语修饰those。
It was a hot summer’s day. Clara was drinking a glass of juice in the garden. The grass was long and her mom was cutting the grass with a lawn mower (割草机). Suddenly, the lawn mower stopped working. Clara’s mom looked upset and picked something up out of the grass. Clara wondered what was wrong and went closer to see. Her mom had a turtle (乌龟) in her hand!
“I think I broke its leg.” she said to Clara, “I’m really sorry. Will you help me take care of it until it gets well?” Clara felt pity for the little turtle. Turtles move slowly, so it probably could not run away when it saw the lawn mower coming. And Clara’s mom could not see the turtle in the long grass! It happened completely by accident, but they would try their best to help him.
Clara named the turtle Phillip. She and her mom took Phillip to the vet (兽医). The vet took an X-ray of Phillip’s leg, which showed that it was broken. The turtle got a bandage (包扎) for his broken leg.
The vet told Clara that Phillip needed plants to eat, water to drink and a place to live in. Clara took the turtle home and took good care of him. She brought him fruit and leaves to eat and kept his water bowl clean. After 10 days of treatment, Phillip seemed to be better.
Eight weeks later, Clara and her mom took Phillip back to the vet and they were told that his leg was well enough to walk by himself everywhere. Because of the good news, Clara had to let Phillip go, though she wasn’t able to bear to be apart with him. When Clara got home, she kissed Phillip, said goodbye and let him go. Clara would always remember Phillip.
56.Who broke the turtle’s leg with a lawn mower?
57.What did the turtle need?
58.When was the turtle well enough to walk everywhere?
59.What will you do if you hurt an animal?
56.Clara’s mom/mother. 57.He/It/Phillip needed plants to eat, water to drink and a place to live in. 58.Eight weeks later. 59.I/We will take him/it to see a vet. I/We will call others for help at once. I will take care of him/it until it gets well... 60.
56.根据“Clara’s mom looked upset and picked something up out of the grass. Clara wondered what was wrong and went closer to see. Her mom had a turtle in her hand! ‘I think I broke its leg.’ she said to Clara”可知,是克拉拉的妈妈用割草机弄伤了乌龟的腿,故填Clara’s mom/mother.
57.根据“The vet told Clara that Phillip needed plants to eat, water to drink and a place to live in.” He/It/Phillip needed plants to eat, water to drink and a place to live in.
58.根据“Eight weeks later, Clara and her mom took Phillip back to the vet and they were told that his leg was well enough to walk by himself everywhere.” Eight weeks later.
I/We will take him/it to see a vet. I/We will call others for help at once. I will take care of him/it until it gets well...
60.(表达意思接近均可得分) It happened意为“这件事发生了”;completely意为“完全地”;by accident意为“偶然地”;but是转折连词,意为“但是”;they指代克拉拉和她的妈妈;would try their best意为“会/愿意尽全力”;to help him意为“帮助他” (him指代乌龟)。

III.
A local street food seller in Jingdezhen City, Jiangxi Province, has recently become popular online. Every day, crowds of people wait 36 to taste his famous chicken steak. During busy hours, customers may have to wait up to four hours just to get a serving. Locals are happy about his success. They now see him as a new “name card” for their city and hope he can make a contribution to the 37 of Jingdezhen.
