On the last night of my month-long China trip, I finally got that chance to watch Jade River, which was extremely exciting. Upon arriving at the theater, I already noticed a difference. The building itself seemed rather unassuming and the attendees seemed less pretentious (自命不凡的) than at many Western operas. Instead, it seemed like ordinary people enjoying a beloved art form. There seemed to be no late policy at all as people came and went as they pleased. Also, talking during the performance was of no consequence In fact, it seemed quite common to turn to your neighbor and express your reaction to the scene. Especially after living in Germany, where silence translates to respect for the performers, the composer and the music itself, this took some getting used to. Unlike Western operas, where the applause must wait until the end of an aria (咏叹调), or in the case of Richard Wagner, at the end of the entire performance, the audience reacted right away, which helped me learn what is considered exceptional in this art form. I also learned what to listen to and watch for. The curtain call at the end was very understated (低调的). It was not the grand event, where the “smaller roles” come out first and the lead characters come out at the end, as I was used to. Instead, all the performers came out in a line together, including the instrumental musicians who had been at the side of the stage. I got the impression that every musician and actor, no matter what role they played, was respected. In a word, it was an enjoyable experience, and I would buy a ticket again in a heartbeat. 1.What do we know about the author from the first paragraph? A.She learned about Peking Opera from her school teachers. B.She watched Peking Opera at the beginning of her trip. C.She had long wished to watch Peking Opera live. D.She was nervous before watching Jade River. 2.What made the author spend some time getting used to it all? A.The strict late policy. B.The audience’s behavior. C.The rule of keeping silent. D.The requirement of applauding. 3.What did the author realize about Peking Opera during the curtain call? A.It showed the greatness of Chinese culture. B.It valued all performers big and small. C.It could learn from Western operas. D.It featured a grand curtain call. 4.What did the author think of her Peking Opera experience? A.It was similar to her other opera experiences. B.It filled the pity she had in her childhood. C.It was quite disappointing. D.It was worthwhile. 根据文章第一段“Ever since my parents told me about Peking Opera when I was a little girl, I have been attracted to it and have wanted to see it live.(自从我小时候父母跟我提到京剧,我就一直被它吸引,一直想现场看一次。)” 根据文章第三段“There seemed to be no late policy at all as people came and went as they pleased. Also, talking during the performance was of no consequence In fact, it seemed quite common to turn to your neighbor and express your reaction to the scene. Especially after living in Germany, where silence translates to respect for the performers, the composer and the music itself, this took some getting used to.(这里似乎完全没有迟到政策,人们可以随意进出。 根据文章最后一段“Instead, all the performers came out in a line together, including the instrumental musicians who had been at the side of the stage. I got the impression that every musician and actor, no matter what role they played, was respected.(相反,所有表演者一起排成一排出来,包括原本在舞台侧面的乐队演奏者。 根据文章最后一段“In a word, it was an enjoyable experience, and I would buy a ticket again in a heartbeat.(总之,这是一次愉快的体验,我会毫不犹豫地再次购票观看。)” (25-26高一下·湖南长沙·月考)Over the past few months, the Internet has seen Ariana Grande-Butera and Cynthia Erivo laugh together, cry together and sing together. Their chemistry, among other factors, is what has made “Wicked” a box office hit. “Wicked” is divided into two parts, with the second movie, “Wicked: For Good,” released in November 2025. The film has been long-awaited by fans of the stage musical, which first appeared on Broadway in 2003. And, as someone who saw the show for the first time in 2019, and saw the show again in San Francisco in 2024, I think I’m more than capable of reviewing the movie. Cynthia Erivo (Elphaba) and Ariana Grande (Glinda) give a very strong performance in the Ozdust Ballroom dance scene. Following the realization that she has been tricked by Glinda, Elphaba steps into the center of the dance floor and begins dancing on her own. Erivo’s tears are natural and unplanned in this scene. And, Grande’s wiping (擦) of Erivo’s tears is also unplanned. Chemistry like this cannot be practiced, and performances such as these require a level of personal openness that can build a deep friendship. The movie’s $ 150 million budget can be seen in its impressive set designs which hit the viewer as soon as the movie begins. The Emerald City is not the only thing that shines off the screen, as the rolling fields of Munchkinland show off nine million tulips (郁金香) that were planted specifically for the filming of the movie. Planting nine million tulips is an amazing thing in any situation. It shows how much hard work the director Jon M. Chu and the rest of the team put into making the movie. Movies have more time to tell a story. Yet, the movie cut some scenes that most build Elphaba and Glinda’s friendship. To viewers unfamiliar with the Broadway source material, this could lead to the movie feeling a bit disconnected. But I truly believe the ‘Wicked’ movie will be remembered by fans of the stage production and movie-goers for years to come. 1.What can be learnt about “Wicked: For Good”? A.It has failed to earn wide recognition. B.It is based on a real-life story. C.It is adapted from a musical. D.It will be followed by two remakes. 2.How does the author look at the ballroom dance scene? A.It is a result of long hard work. B.It needs much acting experience. C.It makes the movie more artistic. D.It shows the actresses’ close connection. 3.What does the author want to show by mentioning the tulips? A.The film’s very low costs. B.The film’s environmental impact. C.The production team’s great effort. D.The director’s filming approaches. 4.What does the underlined word “this” in paragraph 5 refer to? A.Cutting the scenes.B.Telling the stories.C.Limiting the time. D.Changing the stage. 根据第二段“The film has been long-awaited by fans of the stage musical, which first appeared on Broadway in 2003.(这部电影一直备受百老汇音乐剧粉丝的期待,该音乐剧于2003年首次登上百老汇舞台。)” 根据第三段“Cynthia Erivo (Elphaba) and Ariana Grande (Glinda) give a very strong performance in the Ozdust Ballroom dance scene. Following the realization that she has been tricked by Glinda, Elphaba steps into the center of the dance floor and begins dancing on her own. Erivo’s tears are natural and unplanned in this scene. And, Grande’s wiping (擦) of Erivo’s tears is also unplanned. Chemistry like this cannot be practiced, and performances such as these require a level of personal openness that can build a deep friendship.(辛西娅・埃里沃(饰演艾芙芭)和爱莉安娜・格兰德(饰演格林达)在奥兹尘舞厅的舞蹈场景中表现极为出色。 根据第四段“The Emerald City is not the only thing that shines off the screen, as the rolling fields of Munchkinland show off nine million tulips (郁金香) that were planted specifically for the filming of the movie. Planting nine million tulips is an amazing thing in any situation. It shows how much hard work the director Jon M. Chu and the rest of the team put into making the movie.(翡翠城并非唯一在银幕上闪耀的元素,Munchkinland那片连绵起伏的田野上,九百万朵专为影片拍摄而种植的郁金香竞相绽放。 根据倒数第二段“Yet, the movie cut some scenes that most build Elphaba and Glinda’s friendship. To viewers unfamiliar with the Broadway source material, this could lead to the movie feeling a bit disconnected.(然而,这部电影却删减了一些最能展现艾芙芭和格琳达友谊的场景。 故选A。 A good reader can understand the hidden meaning of the passage easily. She could play the piano perfectly when she was a middle school student. After practicing for months, he was able to pass the English speech contest. May I ask you some questions about the text we learned today? Could you tell me how to solve this grammar problem? You mustn’t break the school rules at any time. We must develop a positive attitude towards life and study. He has to get up early to catch the first bus to school every day. We should respect others and help people in need. The man standing at the school gate must be our new head teacher. It may rain this weekend, so we have to put off the picnic. That old man can’t be over 80 years old, because he looks very energetic. He must have reviewed the lessons last night, for he answered all the questions correctly. 1. can’t/couldn’t have done:过去不可能做了某事 例句:She couldn’t have finished the homework in such a short time. 1. may/might/could have done:过去可能做了某事 例句:The little boy might have left his textbook in the classroom. You should have listened to the teacher carefully in class. You shouldn’t have spent too much time playing computer games. You needn’t have bought so many books for the exam. He said he would work harder and make greater progress in English. I was going to attend the lecture on money management, but I was ill. 3. was/were about to+动词原形 用法:表示过去即将、正要做某事,常与when引导的时间状语从句连用,固定句型:be about to do...when...(正要做某事,这时……) 例句:We were about to start our class when the teacher came in. The meeting was to be held in the school hall the next day. (三)常用时间标志词 the next day(第二天)、the following week(接下来的一周)、soon(不久)、then(那时)、later(之后)、in two days(两天后)等。 1.We showed up early and had to wait two hours before the ceremony began.
