Let's know about the novel
This book tells the story of Nils, a little boy who hates studying. One day, he plays tricks on a little elf and is turned into a tiny boy as small as a thumb(拇指). He rides on the white goose Morten and starts a long journey with a group of wild geese(大雁).
During the trip, he sees the beautiful scenery of his country and faces different challenges. For example, he fights against the fox Smirre with wisdom and courage. Day by day, Nils gives up his bad habits. He becomes kind, brave and responsible. In the end, he turns back into a normal boy and grows into a good child.
This is not only an adventure story. It also shows lots of geography and culture about Sweden.
The Wonderful Adventure of Nils is written by the Swedish writer Selma Lagerlöf. It’s the only children’s book that won the author the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1909.
The Nobel Committee praised her writing for its "lofty idealism, vivid imagination, and gentle, graceful style."(“高贵的理想主义、丰富的想象力、平易而优美的风格”) She also became the first woman to receive the Nobel Prize in Literature, as well as the first Swedish writer to win the award.

2. Do you think Nils will be able to turn back into a boy?
E.g. I think the animals will catch Nils and do what he did to them before. They want him to feel how hurtful and scary his actions were.
E.g. Yes, but only after he truly learns his lesson. He must go through many hardships and finally learn how to be a kind and responsible person. He won’t turn back until he changes who he is from the inside.
