It’s no wonder that the first school day of my senior high school was so impressive. When I woke up in the morning, there was only one thing on my mind: what to wear. A billion thoughts appeared through my brain. Not only was it my first day of high school, but it was my first day of school in a new state; the first impression is everything, and it was important for me to impress the people who I would spend the next three years with.
After carefully searching my closet, I proudly came out in a dress from Target. The soft cotton was comfortable, and the specially designed shoulders added a little fun. Yes, this dress was the one. An hour later, I felt powerful as I headed toward Room 1136. But as I entered class, my jaw dropped to the floor.
Sitting at her desk was Mrs Hutfilz, my English teacher, wearing exactly the same dress as me. I kept my head down and tiptoed (踮着脚走) to my seat. I made it through my simple introduction speech until Mrs Hutfilz stood up, jokingly saying that she liked my style. Although this was the moment I had been afraid of from the moment I walked in, all my anxiety surprisingly melted away, and the students paid attention as I shared my story. My smile spread across my face as I laughed with the students. After class, I stayed behind, talked to Mrs Hutfilz and made a humorous and real conversation.
Looking back four years later, the ten minutes I spent afraid of giving my speech were really not worth it. My first period of high school certainly made the day unforgettable in the best way and taught me that Mrs Hutfilz had a brilliant sense of style!
24. What can we know from the first paragraph?
A. She had no confidence in herself.
B. She cared too much about her appearance.
C. She thought the first impression important.
D. She had the trouble choosing a proper dress.
25. How did the author feel when hearing what her teacher said?
A. Annoyed. B. Relaxed. C. Frightened. D. Confused.
26. Which of the following statements is true?
A. Her teacher made a joke on her.
B. Her teacher had a sense of humor.
C. Her teacher was unhappy for the same dress.
D. Her teacher had a great talk with her in class.
27. What is the writer’s goal of writing the passage?
A. To share an unforgettable experience.
B. To explore the troubles of choosing clothes.
C. To show her teacher’s brilliant sense of style.
D. To prove the importance of the first impression.
C 25. B 26. B 27. A

根据第一段中“Not only was it my first day of high school, but it was my first day of school in a new state; the first impression is everything, and it was important for me to impress the people who I would spend the next three years with.(无数个念头在我脑海中闪过。这不仅是我上高中的第一天,还是我在新州上学的第一天;第一印象至关重要,对我而言,给接下来三年要朝夕相处的人留下好印象很重要。)”可知,她认为第一印象很重要。故选C。
【25题详解】

C
Nao, the first robot able to show feelings, has been created by a European research team. When Nao is sad, he lowers his head and looks down. When he’s happy, he raises his arms for a hug. Nothing is out of the ordinary, except that Nao is a robot.
“We’re modeling the first years of life,” says Lola Canamero, a computer scientist at the University of Hertforshire. “The feelings are shown through physical gestures and body movements rather than facial or verbal(言语的) expressions.”
In the future, says the scientist, robots are likely to act as companions, provide support for old people, and help people shop online. In such uses, the display of feeling will be important in making the interactions(交往) more natural and comfortable.
Nao has been programmed to copy the emotional skills of a one-year-old child. It can memorize faces, and knows the basic rules of good and bad. Based on these it can decide how to react to what is going on. The actions going with each feeling are pre-programmed, but Nao decides for itself when to display them.
Nao is also programmed to have different personalities. A more independent robot is less likely to call for help when exploring a room, while a more fearful robot will show distress if it finds something in the room that may be harmful.
Canamero’s team will take its emotional programming forward into medical applications. Part of the project will look at ways to use robots in hospitals to support the roles of doctors, nurses and parents. Children might find that a small, friendly-looking robot that can understand their emotional states makes them less anxious. “We want to explore different roles—the robots will help the children to understand their treatment and explain what they have to do. We want to help the children to control their anxiety.” she says.
28. According to the text, Nao_______.
A. displays different feelings in different situations
B. is able to imitate adult emotional displays
C. can remember people’s feelings
D. learns emotions from facial expressions
29. What can we learn from the text?
A. Scientists worked on facial and spoken expressions to create Nao’s emotions.
B. The time when Nao displays feelings has been pre-programmed.
C. Emotional programming is used in medicine production.
D. Robots with emotional skills can help children feel more comfortable.
30. What does the underlined word “distress” in Paragraph 5 probably mean?
A. Courage. B. Anxiety.
C. Anger. D. Satisfaction.
31. What is the text mainly about?
A. The relationship between humans and robots.
B. The roles that robots play in different fields.
C. The first robot able to show feelings.
D. The long history of robots.
A 29. D 30. B 31. C
文中第一段第二句提到“When Nao is sad, he lowers his head and looks down. When he’s happy, he raises his arms for a hug.” 故选A。
文中第一句提到“Nao, the first robot able to show feelings”Nao是第一个能表达情感的机器人。同时,第二段最后一句“The feelings are shown through physical gestures and body movements rather than facial or verbal(言语的) expressions.” 第四段最后一句提到“The actions going with each feeling are pre-programmed, but Nao decides for itself when to display them.”Nao的每种情感对应的动作是预先编程好的,但什么时候显示是Nao自己决定的,而不是显示的时间也是预先编程好的,故B项错误。第六段第一句提到“Canamero’s team will take its emotional programming forward into medical applications.” 第六段第三句提到“Children might find that a small, friendly-looking robot that can understand their emotional states makes them less anxious.”
D
When AI art generators become popular around the world, a question stays in people’s minds: should their works really be thought of as art? While the technology is still developing and has things to improve, it’s clear we must balance its problems against the amazing artworks that good AI can make.
Art is defined as something made from imagination, skill, experience and emotion, usually created to show something for people to enjoy. Human artists spend time and effort turning their inner thoughts into real works. In the same way, AI uses a lot of computing power to look through huge amounts of data, link a user’s request to related information, and try to present it as well as possible. The main difference, though, is that AI follows orders instead of having a strong feeling to express itself.
With one press of the enter key, AI art generators can produce more than 1,000 original works. But a mass-produced copy of the Mona Lisa is less valuable than Leonardo da Vinci’s real painting. Why? Scarcity — there’s only one true version. This brings up questions: Should anyone pay for AI-generated art? And if an artist sells AI-made great works, what price is right?
AI art works when a program copies the styles of existing artists to create new pieces based on what people ask for. But who should get credit for the artwork — the machine or the person using it? Can original artists take legal action for copyright violation? These questions make it hard to mix AI and the art industry, and also make more arguments against seeing AI-generated art as products that can be sold.
Once we solve these problems, we can deal with the biggest question: When an AI-generated painting wins an award, who should get the prize?
32. What makes AI art different from human art?
A. It doesn’t show humans’ inner feelings.
B. It comes from people’s life experience.
C. It needs less money to make.
D. It mixes various work styles together.
33. Why does the writer mention Mona Lisa in paragraph 3?
A. To show classic artworks are well-liked.
B. To prove AI painters are better than human artists.
C. To point out possible problems with AI art’s value.
D. To suggest a new way to keep art masterpieces.
34. What can we learn from paragraph 4?
A. AI art helps sell more artistic products.
B. Artists can create more works with AI’s help.
C. The art industry will have tough competition.
D. AI art makes copyright problems harder to solve.
35. What is the main purpose of the passage?
A. To explain why AI-generated art is more popular than human art.
B. To discuss the arguments and questions around AI-generated art’s status.
C. To introduce how AI art generators create original artworks.
D. To prove that AI-generated art should not be seen as real art.
A 33. C 34. D 35. B
根据文章第二段“The main difference, though, is that AI follows orders instead of having a strong feeling to express itself.(然而,主要区别在于AI遵循指令,而非拥有强烈的情感需要表达。)” 故选A。
根据文章第三段“But a mass-produced copy of the Mona Lisa is less valuable than Leonardo da Vinci’s real painting. Why? Scarcity—there’s only one true version. This brings up questions: Should anyone pay for AI-generated art? And if an artist sells AI-made great works, what price is right?(但批量复制的《蒙娜丽莎》不如达·芬奇的真迹有价值。
根据文章第四段“But who should get credit for the artwork—the machine or the person using it? Can original artists take legal action for copyright violation? These questions make it hard to mix AI and the art industry, and also make more arguments against seeing AI-generated art as products that can be sold.(但谁应该获得艺术作品的荣誉——是机器还是使用它的人?

I like running, and for me, success was winning every race I participated in. My classmates called me“Mr. Champion(冠军)”. One day, there was a sports meeting at my school. Well-prepared for the running competition, I took part in all the races: the 400m, 200m, and 100m. A large number of people gathered to watch. The crowd was eager to see the running races because they were the most exciting events. When the 400m race started, all the boys ran fast. Unsurprisingly, I finished first and received a big round of applause(掌声). Although it was tiring, I felt proud and was on top of the world.
In the 200m race, I ran at full speed and finished first once again. The crowd gave me thunderous applause. I jumped all over the place and even didn’t think it was necessary to shake hands with other racers.
Then came the 100m race. Discouraged by the previous races, most boys gave up except one: a boy named Matt, who looked a little clumsy(笨拙的) but was a determined racer. The judge came to Matt and explained the situation, asking if he would like to give up too. Wild with joy, I thought I would win the championship without effort. However, to everyone’s surprise, Matt decided to finish the race. I sniffed(嗤之以鼻), “It’s a waste of time. I’m sure he doesn’t even know where the finish line is.”
The race between the two of us began. On hearing the starting gun, both Matt and I ran toward the finish line. Soon I sped up and left Matt behind. Just 30 meters before reaching the finish line, I was expecting to receive applause for the third time when I suffered a leg spasm(抽筋).
注意:
(1)续写词数应为150个左右;

With his help, I slowly stood up.
____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
I fell hard to the ground. I tried to stand up, but there was a sharp pain in my leg. My dream of winning for the third time was over. The crowd’s cheers changed into shocked gasps. I felt my face burn with shame and frustration. Just moments ago, I was about to win; now I was lying helpless on the track, unable to move. To my surprise, Matt didn’t rush past. Instead, he stopped beside me with concern. “Are you okay? Let me help you.” He said as he reached out his hand.
With his help, I slowly stood up. Leaning on his shoulder, I hopped painfully toward the finish line. My heart was filled with a mixture of gratitude and regret. The audience began to clap—not for a winner, but for two boys who supported each other and crossed the finish line together. That day, I realized that the heart of a true champion doesn’t lie in winning, but in kindness and sportsmanship.

30. What does the underlined word “distress” in Paragraph 5 probably mean?
A. Courage. B. Anxiety.

31. What is the text mainly about?

C. The first robot able to show feelings.
D. The long history of robots.
