C In the West, Chinese food is becoming more and more popular, especially Sichuan food. Sichuan food is well known for two basic tastes—ma and la. Now, many Westerners fall in love with the spicy (辛辣的) dishes of Sichuan. Here are the top three of them. Mapo tofu is probably the best-known Sichuan dish in the West. It is made with tofu and beef. Many people like mapo tofu because of its special taste, ma. There is an old story about it. It is said that mapo tofu was made by an old woman who had many marks (斑点) on her face. Hot pot is also called ma la huo guo. Many Westerners think hot pot is the hottest dish. It is a social meal and everyone cooks their own food in the pot while talking. So it’s a good way to enjoy delicious food and conversations. They also think hot pot is a sign of a brave person if he/she can eat a Sichuan hot pot meal without drinking cold water. Kung pao chicken is another spicy dish. It has the other name, gong bao ji ding. It’s made with chicken and peanuts. Its name comes from Ding Baozhen, an officer of Sichuan. The dish was his favorite. One story is that he often put on poor clothes so that he could experience the real lives of common people. Once Ding Baozhen ate this dish in a small restaurant, he enjoyed it so much that he asked his cook to make the same dish. The dish got its name from this. 62. What is Sichuan food well known for? A. Its colors. B. Its smells. C. Its tastes. D. Its stories. 63. Which of the following materials are used to make mapo tofu? ①tofu ②chicken ③peanuts ④beef A. ①② B. ②③ C. ③④ D. ①④ 64. What is the hottest dish in many Westerners’ opinion? A. Mapo tofu. B. Hot pot. C. Kung pao chicken. D. Hui guo rou. 65. What is the structure of the passage? D As we often use eyes to touch nature, most of us “lose” the ability to listen to the world. Peter wrote music. He liked sounds and used natural sounds as part of his music. He often went out to the wild with his microphone and recorded interesting sounds to put in movies or to use in his own songs. Instead of trying to capture just the sound of one animal or bird, he recorded the sound of everything all together—the animals, the trees, the wind and the earth. He called these recordings “soundscapes”—the sound of a certain place. Every soundscape Peter recorded had a lot of information. Back in his workshop, Peter used a computer to make a picture of all the sounds going on in a place. Each animal, bird and insect had its own place on the picture—its own notes in the music. The busier the picture, the richer the life in that place. “While a picture may be worth 1,000 words, a soundscape is worth 1,000 pictures,” Peter said. “Our ears tell us the sound of every leaf and animal and speak to the natural sources (来源) of our lives, which may hold the secrets of love for all things, especially our own humanity.” But not everything is satisfying. When Peter began recording over forty years ago, he could record for ten hours and get one hour of usable material good enough for a movie. Now, because of human activities, it can take up to 1,000 hours or more to get the same thing. Some of the places he has recorded over the years have slowly fallen silent. His sound pictures show that although nature might look the same to humans, it has lost part of its orchestra (管弦乐队). So next time you are in the forests, try another way to look—shut your eyes, and listen. 66. Why did Peter record natural sounds? A. To write songs for a music group. B. To discover rich lives in the forest. C. To use some of them in his music. D. To make music about birds singing. 67. What does the underlined word “capture” in Paragraph 2 mean? A. Shut. B. Catch. C. Touch. D. Check. 68. What is a sound picture in the text? A. The sound of every leaf and animal in nature. B. The sound recorded in the room. C. A picture of music with sounds of 1,000 animals. D. A picture of music with natural sounds in a place. 69. What can we learn from Paragraph 4? A. Recording sounds needs less material. B. Sound pictures are the same as before. C. Some beautiful sounds in nature are lost. D. Human activities improve recording results. 70. What does the writer mainly want to tell us? A. Nature is the source of our future. B. Nature has wonders to be heard. C. Making music enriches our lives. D. Making music needs information. 第二节 阅读表达(共 5 小题;每小题 2 分,满分 10 分) 阅读下面短文,简略回答问题。 On April 19, 2025, the world’s first half-marathon for humanoid (人形的) robots was held in Beijing. The robots waited beside human runners, starting from the same line. “I saw many robots running. Some were surprisingly fast, others had very lovely designs, and their running styles were quite different,” said Zhang Huihui, who took part in the race. During the 21-kilometer-long race, the robots had to run on two legs. Some even wore running shoes. Each robot was supported by a team of human guides, operators (操作员) and engineers. They could have their batteries changed during the race. Teams could even use new robots when the old ones could no longer run. There were 20 teams in the race and six of them made it to the end. Tiangong Ultra won first prize in 2 hours and 40 minutes. “It crossed the finish line about 30 minutes earlier than expected,” said Xiong Youjun, CEO of a robot center. “In general, all the robots today could deal with challenges such as turns and speed bumps. We made history together.” “Robots’ completing the race isn’t the finish line. It’s the starting point for the growth of the robot industry,” said Liang Liang, from Yizhuang’s Administrative Committee. A clear majority, 62%, of students choose to do scientific exploration at school, while only 6% choose home, 18% prefer universities, and 14% opt for other places. Schools are the most popular choice because they provide well-equipped laboratories and professional teachers to guide our learning. Personally, I prefer doing scientific exploration at school.
