1. do with和deal with辨析
两者都可译为“处理;对付”
deal with 强调处理的方式、方法,常与 how 连用。

do with 强调处理的对象,常与 what 连用
例: I don't know what to do with these emails. 我不知道如何处理这些电子邮件。
2. lonely 与 alone 辨析
lonely 只能作形容词,意为“孤独的;寂寞的”,具有情感色彩。在句中可作定语、表语或宾语补足语
alone 可作形容词也可作副词。作形容词时,意为“单独的;独自的”,在句中作表语。作副词时,意为“独自;单独”,在句中作状语。alone没有情感色彩。

5. advise 的用法
advise 作动词,意为“建议;劝告”,常见用法如下:

decision意为“决定”,是可数名词,常见搭配:
make a decision (to do sth) 作出决定(做某事)

decide (not) to do sth “决定(不)做某事”
decide + that从句 “决定……”
decide on sth “就……作出决定”
4. 重点语法 ——状语从句
本课重点掌握四个状语从句(基本上会翻译能理解题目就做得出来):
1. although(同义词:though/even though/even if)意为“虽然;尽管;即使”,引导让步状语从句。考点注意:although/though/even though/even if不能和but连用。
例:Although you argued, you are still very close friends.
虽然你们吵架了,但你们依然是关系很好的朋友。
2. until意为“直到”,引导时间状语从句。注意“not...until...”句型的翻译“直到......才......”。
例:You won't know how he feels until you talk to him.
直到你和他沟通,你才会明白他的想法。
3. so that意为“为了;以便”,引导目的状语从句。除此之外,so that意为“因此”时还可以引导结果状语从句,但本课未出现这个用法。
例:You can write to your parents so that they'll know how you feel.
你可以给父母写信,好让他们知道你的内心感受。
4. if意为“如果”,引导条件状语从句。除此之外,if意为“是否”时还可以引导宾语从句,但本课未出现这个用法。
例:If you did or said something wrong, you should say sorry.
如果你做了错事、说了错话,就应该道歉。

The person I want to thank is my English teacher. She helped me a lot.
I used to be afraid to speak English in class. I was worried about making mistakes and didn’t dare to answer questions. I also thought memorizing new words was really difficult, so my English was not good at first. I never liked English until I met Mrs Green. She was always patient with me. She encouraged me to practice speaking English every day and taught me useful ways to remember words. When I failed the exam, she talked with me and helped me find out my problems. She never gave up on me and made me confident.
