When the days grew long in the middle of summer,Lisa
liked to go to the park and watch the clouds.
One day,Lisa saw a cloud that looked like a standing
dragon.After a few minutes,it became a flying dragon.Then it
seemed to change direction.Another cloud moved in to mix
with it,and the dragon changed into a dancing elephant. Then
it became a sitting dog,then a barking(吠,叫)dog,and then a
tiger.
“This is better than TV,”Lisa shouted.
Mr Thomas, the music teacher at Lisa's school, was flying
a kite with his son in the park.He heard Lisa's voice. He gave
the kite string()to his son and came to Lisa.
“Hi,Mr Thomas,”Lisa said.“Look at those clouds.They
keep changing.First, they looked like a dragon, then an ele-
phant,then a dog,and now a tiger!"
Mr Thomas looked up.“A tiger?”he said.“That looks like
a horse to me.It's running towards the sun. That's so lively.
Lisa looked again. He was right."How do clouds know

DAre you curious about the future? What do you think
our life will be like in 50 years or more?To answer this, you
can read a sci-fi book.Today many young readers are interest-
ed in science fiction. But what makes it so popular?
2For one thing, science fiction gives us a chance to imag-
ine what our future will be like. Some people think there will
be flying cars and robot servants.Others believe we will learn
more about aliens(外星人)and other planets.
3Another reason is that sci-fi writers and their works can
inspire us to create the future. In 1945,a sci-fi author named
Arthur C.Clarke wrote about a series()of space stations
in his books. In the books he predicted the earth of the future
would have many TV stations and people would send TV pro-
grammes around the world. However, this was before TV as
common at home! Now you see,we have realised all of these!
4Science fiction is also popular because it can make us
think about our world in new ways.It can help us better un-
derstand the real world. It can also make us excited when we
feel like we are living in a boring world.
5What will the future be like?Sci-fi encourages us and
helps us to understand what it could be like.

Can you design a Lego model without any help?I'm
afraid most people can't.But a team from Carnegie Mellon
University has created a smart AI model called LegoGPT.It
can produce Lego designs from text alone.
The team trained LegoGPT with a data set(数据集)called
StableText2Lego.To create it,the team first let the AI read a
text prompt (and then turned it into a ShapeNetCore
mesh(网状物).Then this appeared in a voxel grid(体素网格)
to set up the basic form. The form was changed, and only sta-
ble designs were kept. Finally, those left were on show from 24
different angles and ChatGPT's GPT-40 briefly described the fi-
nal output. The data set has over 47,000 Lego structures. All
kinds of 3D objects,such as tables,cars and guitars,have gone
through the process.
With the data set,LegoGPT can help people create new
designs. It first turns the text into a Lego design. That design is
then broken down into text tokens.Instructions are created to
pair the structured Lego bricks with notes explaining the de-
sign,so that the AI will understand the relationship between
the text prompt and the bricks. From there,LegoGPT predicts
the next brick needed to build the design. It also checks if the
structure works.If there's a problem,the AI will go back to a
safe point and start again. This goes on until the design is over.
LegoGPT is now free for everyone online. It can also be
paired with other tools like image processing(图像处理)AI.
For example, you can take a photo of your Lego bricks and let
the AI suggest what you can build with them.
)66.How does the writer start the passage?
A.By asking a question.B.By giving advice.
C.By telling a story.
D.By listing numbers.
)67.What was used to train LegoGPT?
A.ShapeNetCore.
B.StableText2Lego.
C.The voxel grid.
D.GPT-40
)68.What can we infer about LegoGPT?
A.It can only create Lego designs of cars.
B.It is difficult for common people to use.
C.It can work together with other AI tools.
D.It has a data set with fewer than 40,000 Lego struc-
tures.
(
)69.What does the underlined word "stable"mean in
Para.2?
A.复杂的B.微小的C.新颖的
D.稳定的
)70.What is the main idea of the passage?
A.How to take photos of Lego bricks.
B.A smart AI model called LegoGPT.
C.Different kinds of 3D obiects.
D.How to create a data set.
第二节阅读表达(共5小题;每小题2分,满分10分)
阅读下面短文,简略回答问题。
People say teamwork is great, but I think it can some-
times make things harder.I used to work in an office, but now
I work alone at home.It made me wonder:Why does team-
work cause problems instead of solving them?
Some people just want things their way.In a team, there's
often someone who talks the loudest or acts selfishly
)Others might agree with them even if their ideas aren't
good.Teamwork feels like solving a puzzle()with missing
pieces when different personalities mix. It's impossible to
work well in those cases.
Time is another problem.Once,I was on a team that nev-
er met enough. We were all busy and had no time to talk about
good plans.Teams need hours together to share ideas and lis-
ten-like a football team that practices every day.If players
don't train,they can't win games.
Many teams also don't learn how to work together.Trust
doesn't magically appear.You can't throw strangers into a
room and say,"Be a team!"You need to learn to respect each
other and solve problems step by step. But most teams never
get this training.
Working alone isn't perfect, though. When my computer
breaks,I miss having helpers nearby. When I think of a cool
idea, there's no one to ask,"Is this good?"Making all the de-
cisions myself is fun,but it's lonely too.
Still,I like my quiet "me team"better now.I decide eve-
rything,and there's no arguing-quite independent!But I fi-
nally understand why my old teams failed.Good teamwork
needs patience, time, and people who care about each other.
Maybe one day,if I learn to fix those problems,my "me team"
could grow into a real "we team. After all, even the best play-
ers need a team to win.

Dear Sir/Madam,
Good morning,everybody!You can't imagine
how overjoyed I am after hearing that I got a prize in
“nvention Competition”
My invention is called“Smart Water Saver”.It
can find water leaks easily and remind people to save
water in time. It's small and white.I made it because I
often noticed people waste water in daily life, such as
leaving taps running while washing their hands or do-
ing the dishes. This competition taught me to learn
some useful new skills. It also made me more confi-
dent when trying new things. What's more,I realised
how important teamwork is-we need to work togeth-
er and share ideas to achieve better results.
Thanks for listening!
