①Many people enjoy eating foods like ice cream and pizza. However, foods like broccoli and carrots don’t seem to be so popular. Not many people enjoy eating them, even though these vegetables are full of vitamins and good for health. So what causes these differences in our taste?
②Scientists have found many answers to this question. First, the number of taste buds (味蕾) on our tongues differs from one person to another. People with more taste buds are known as “supertasters”. They can taste certain flavours and foods more strongly than other people, so they often prefer foods cooked in a lighter way, such as steamed vegetables or boiled fish. People with fewer taste buds often have a love for spicy (辣的) foods, as the strong spices can stimulate their taste buds and bring a much clearer sensory (感官的) experience.
③Our sense of taste depends on more than just how many taste buds we have. It also depends on our taste buds’ ability to sense certain chemicals in the food we eat. They help our brain tell the five basic tastes: sweet, sour, salty, bitter and umami (鲜味). Even the temperature of food can influence this process—warm dishes often bring out richer flavours compared to cold ones.
④Gender (性别) and culture also have an effect on our taste. Women tend to prefer sweet foods, while men often prefer salty foods. Bitter foods are more widely enjoyed in places where people eat them regularly. For example, people in some Asian countries often add bitter herbs to soups, making it easy for locals to accept and even love the unique taste.
⑤Experience plays a role in our taste as well. For example, babies tend to like the foods their mothers ate before they were born, and adults may start to enjoy once-disliked foods after trying them repeatedly in different recipes. A person who hated tomatoes before may fall for tomato pasta after tasting a well-cooked one with cheese.
59.Which word can best replace the underlined word “stimulate” in paragraph 2?
A.Reduce. B.Destroy. C.Control. D.Awaken.
60.What role does gender play in taste preferences?
A.Men prefer sweet foods, while women prefer salty foods.
B.Women prefer sweet foods, while men prefer salty foods.
C.Both men and women prefer bitter foods.
D.Gender has no effect on taste preferences.
61.Which is the right structure of this passage?
A. B. C. D.
62.What is the main idea of the passage?
A.How to improve your sense of taste.
B.The health benefits of broccoli and carrots.
C.The history of ice cream and pizza.
D.Why people have different tastes in food.

One of China’s most popular mountain sights has started using an unusual new workforce—a pack of robotic dogs—to carry rubbish down the mountain paths.
The four-legged robots can be seen walking up and down the steps of Mount Tai in eastern China’s Shandong Province, often carrying huge bags of rubbish.
The robots are being used to solve a growing labor (劳动) shortage. Tourists produce a huge amount of rubbish, so keeping Mount Tai clean is a big challenge. For years, the tourist area has depended on tiaoshangong to carry bags of waste down the mountain on foot. A traditional tiaoshangong usually carries bags of up to 50 kilograms at a time. But fewer locals are willing to become tiaoshangong now. So, the tourist place has to explore other solutions.
Robotic dogs appear to be the way to go. They can carry things of up to 120 kilograms and climb for four to six hours on a single charge (充电). They are also able to run up the mountain if needed. In a recent test run, a robotic dog managed to climb the classic 9.5-kilometer path from the Red Gate to the top of Mount Tai in just two hours, around twice the speed of an average human climber.
The shortage of tiaoshangong may make robots the only choice in the future. However, human labor will remain irreplaceable, because robotic dogs cannot fully replace human labor in the short term.
63.What does robotic dogs do on Mount Tai?
A.Clean the mountain. B.Produce packs. C.Carry tiaoshangong. D.Explore sights.
64.How much weight of things can robotic dogs carry?
A.About 6kg. B.About 9.5kg. C.Up to 50kg. D.Up to 120kg.
65.What does the writer think of tiaoshangong on Mount Tai?
A.They are too lazy and expensive. B.Their job will soon be popular.
C.They should be replaced by robots. D.Their work is hard but valuable.

From friendships to work stress, more Chinese people are now using AI tools like DeepSeek to talk about their problems. They share feelings with the chatbot and get warm advice. This is called “AI therapy”, which is becoming popular online. But can robots really replace human therapists?
Around the world, 45 percent of people who needed mental health care in 2024 did not get it because it was too expensive or there weren’t enough doctors, according to Huntington Psychological Services. Daniel Lowd, an associate professor (副教授) at the University of Oregon, believes AI could help fill this gap. “If people can find some support and ideas by talking to ChatGPT or chatbot Claude, then I think that’s wonderful,” Lowd told Newsweek. Li Yong, a doctor at the Jiangsu Province Hospital, agreed with Lowd, saying that AI meets people’s needs for emotional support to a point.
However, AI has its limits. Human therapists understand feelings deeply through face-to-face talks and create personalized treatment (个性化治疗) plans—something robots can’t fully copy. Another problem is safety. AI might act like a therapist without proper training or rules. It can’t be as responsible as human therapists.
Experts believe the key to safe AI therapy is strict government control. For example, Wysa, an AI mental health app, follows strict medical standards in the UK. As AI becomes part of daily life, finding a balance between its benefits (效益) and risks is important. While AI offers quick help, human connection remains irreplaceable (不可替代的) for serious emotional needs.
70.What does the underlined word “it” in Paragraph 2 refer to?
A.Mental health care B.AI therapy
C.The high cost of going to hospitals. D.Not enough time to relax.
71.What is a problem with AI chatbots according to the passage?
A.They cannot offer treatment plans.
B.They don’t receive proper training.
C.They cannot take responsibility for their advice.
D.They might steal job opportunities from human therapists.
72.What do experts think about “AI therapy”?
A.It brings more risks than benefits. B.It is good but needs strong control.
C.It will totally change the healthcare industry. D.People shouldn’t depend too much on AI chatbots.
【答案】70.A 71.C 72.B
【导语】本文是一篇说明文,主要探讨了“AI心理治疗”的兴起及其优缺点。
70.词句猜测题。根据“Around the world, 45 percent of people who needed mental health care in 2024 did not get it because it was too expensive or there weren’t enough doctors, according to Huntington Psychological Services.”可知,2024年,全球45%需要心理健康护理的人没有得到它,因为费用太贵或医生不够,所以“it”指代前面提到的“mental health care”。故选A。
71.细节理解题。根据“Another problem is safety. AI might act like a therapist without proper training or rules. It can’t be as responsible as human therapists.”可知,AI聊天机器人的问题在于无法对其建议负责。故选C。
72.观点态度题。根据“Experts believe the key to safe AI therapy is strict government control…As AI becomes part of daily life, finding a balance between its benefits (效益) and risks is important. While AI offers quick help, human connection remains irreplaceable (不可替代的) for serious emotional needs.”可推知,专家认为AI治疗有益但需严格管控。故选B。

During the Spring and Autumn Period, Qi and Lu were neighboring strong states. Under Duke Huan’s rule, Qi became powerful, while Lu was respected as the land given to the Duke of Zhou.
Duke Huan wanted to control the central areas, so he planned to weaken Lu. He ordered all Qi officials to wear Lu’s gauze (缟布) and didn’t allow Qi people from making their own satin (纨布). All gauze would be bought from Lu. This decision made the price of gauze rise quickly. Lu businessmen got rich by selling gauze to Qi.
Lu farmers stopped growing crops to plant mulberry (桑树) trees for making gauze. Soon, Lu’s fields were full of mulberry trees, not food crops. Lu’s ruler thought happily: “Qi depends on our gauze! Our state will be strong!”
But Duke Huan and his smart advisor Guan Zhong had a secret plan. Months later, Qi suddenly stopped using Lu gauze and stopped selling food to Lu.
This shocked Lu completely. Lu was full of unsold gauze. With no grain left (since they stopped farming), Lu people had no food.
Lu’s ruler finally understood Duke Huan’s idea. He quickly sent messengers (信使) to Qi, asking him to restart trade. But Duke Huan required: Lu must accept Qi’s leadership and pay yearly taxes. Lu had to agree. Qi won the trade war, making Lu weaker.
73.What did Lu people wear? (不超过5个词)
74.How did Lu people feel when Qi stopped using Lu gauze? (不超过5个词)
75.What made Qi win the trade war? (不超过15个词)

64.How much weight of things can robotic dogs carry?
