1. 句子还原:文中挖4处空白,给出5个完整句子选项,从中选出4个填入对应空格,剩余1个为无关干扰项,主要考查上下文语句衔接与逻辑理解能力;
0. 段落开头空格:优先选择概括段落主旨、引出下文的总起句,统领整段内容;
0. 段落中间空格:选择承接前后语句、补充解释或举例说明的过渡句,保证上下文语义连贯;
1. 句子还原切忌纠结单个空格,先易后难,做完简单题目再突破难题,减少答题卡顿;
1. 简答题切勿照抄原文整句话,一定要精简语言,避免超字数失分;

Do you know how to pick a good book you’ll really like? Here are some tips.
Start with your interest. ________ You can pick something that you love to read, not for school. They can be arts, music, or computers, or fashion design. You name it, there are books about it.
What’s your type? Do you prefer fiction or nonfiction (or both)? Fiction books, like novels, can take you to another world or help you think about something beyond your own experience. Nonfiction books give you the who, what, when, and why of something. ________ Many of them read like novels from start to finish.
Read the description. Some quotes (引言) on the back and inside covers of many books give you an idea of what the book is about. They can also help you pick future books, too. If you find a book you really like, take a minute to read the quotes and see which writers like the book. ________
Find a family favourite. Which book did your mother love best when she was at your age? How about your brothers and sisters? Find out and give them a read—then you can share your thoughts about the book.
Finally, you’ll probably enjoy what you’re reading a lot more if you find a quiet place and make time for the book. ________ You can put on some good music, get yourself some tea and let yourself be carried away by the book. You’ll see that time does fly when you’re reading something you love!

D“They tell stories using facts-but that doesn’t mean they’re boring.”

How to study for a test without stress
Everyone faces exams from time to time. Some students feel nervous and study too late. Here are some tips you can use to stay calm and study well.
If you know what you need to do each day, you won’t feel lost. Write down your tasks and start with the hardest one. You can also set a simple time limit, like “20 minutes for English words.” When you finish a small goal, you will feel more confident.
Take short breaks. Studying for a long time without stopping can make you tired. During the break, stand up, drink some water, or stretch your neck. After a short break, your brain works better and you can remember more.
Practice, don’t just read. Reading notes again and again may feel safe, but it doesn’t always help. Practice helps you find what you really don’t understand, so you can fix it early. For example, you can do a few questions, explain an idea in your own words, or test yourself with flashcards.
Ask for help. Sometimes you don’t understand a point, and you may feel stuck. Don’t wait until the night before the test, because stress will grow quickly. You can ask a teacher, talk with a classmate, or watch a short lesson video. Solving problems early can reduce stress a lot. In the end, you don’t need to be perfect. Just follow these steps little by little. With a plan, breaks, practice, and help, you can feel calmer and do your best on the test.
A.Start with a clear study plan.
B.Ask someone to explain it to you.
C.Study late at night to remember more.
D.Take a 5-minute break every 30 minutes.
E.Try testing yourself instead of only reading.
1.
2.
3.
4.
5.Which of the above tips will you follow to study better?
1.A 2.D 3.E 4.B 5.Possible answers:
I’ll start with a clear study plan, because it helps me stay focused.
I’ll take short breaks, because they keep my brain fresh.
I’ll test myself, because practice shows what I don’t understand.
I’ll ask for help early, because solving problems sooner reduces stress.
1.后文提到“写下任务、设定时限、完成小目标”,A项“Start with a clear study plan.”

Most of you think that you can see better when your eyes open wider. It sounds right. Your eyes can get a wider view of the world, and more light can enter to make you see the world more clearly. However, people with short-sightedness (近视) may find that the opposite is true. In fact, people with short-sightedness often see things more clearly when they squint (眯眼看).
Why does squinting help people with short-sightedness see more clearly? Here’s the reason. Your lens (晶状体), on the front of your eye, is changing shape all the time. This helps you focus on objects both near and far. Squinting can offer a bit of help to this process. It helps focus light in the right place. It works by controlling the amount of light going into the eyes.
To see clearly, you need the light focused by the lens to hit the retina (视网膜)—at the back of your eyes as exactly as possible. The lens of the eye becomes harder as we get older. So it cannot focus light as well as it used to. By squinting, people are actually changing the shapes of their eyes, so that the light focuses correctly on the retina.
Also, a little squinting is not harmful to your eyesight. It’s OK to squint once in a while to see something. If you find yourself doing it all the time, get your eyes checked as soon as possible.
A.It is very important to protect our eyes.
B.However, the lens of the eye doesn’t work well all the time.
C.But too much squinting can be a sign of failing eyesight.
D.This is true for people with good sight.
E.And how does squinting work?
1.
2.
3.
4.
5.What can you do to prevent short-sightedness?
1.D 2.E 3.B 4.C 5.Spend more time outdoors every day./Keep a proper distance when reading.
D选项“This is true for people with good sight.”

Canada is a big country in North America, and it is the second largest country in the world. It is next to only one country—the United States—and has a population of about 40 million people, most living near the U.S. border. This country is famous for its beautiful nature, many different cultures, and good life. It attracts visitors and people who move here from all over the world.
. In the west, Banff and Jasper National Parks have green lakes and ancient glaciers, while the east is home to the Niagara Falls, whose rushing waters surprise everyone. In northern Canada, places like Yukon often light up with magical bright light in winter. Over half of the world’s lakes are in Canada, including Great Bear Lake, one of the largest freshwater lakes on earth. These natural wonders make outdoor activities like hiking and wildlife watching popular.
Canada’s culture is very interesting. . Toronto has people from over 200 different groups, forming a “cultural puzzle”, while Montreal mixes European style with French-speaking traditions. The country also values Indigenous cultures, with many centers showing their special art and music. Festivals here are lively too—Quebec’s Winter Carnival features ice castles and parades, where people enjoy fun activities.
. Its special foods include sweet maple syrup, often poured on pancakes, and poutine, a hearty dish of fries, cheese, and gravy. Tim Hortons, the national coffee chain, is a daily stop for many Canadians who love its “Double Double” coffee. Living here is comfortable too: cities like Vancouver are clean and safe, with good public transport.

We know that spending time in nature reduces (降低) stress and improves our mood (情绪).We also know that the act of hugging ourselves or another living thing can improve our well-being. So, why not try to mix the two together? That’s what hugging a tree does! Read on to learn more about the benefits of hugging a tree!
It is well known that trees produce oxygen (氧气). So, when you are close to a tree and hug it in a forest, you are naturally in a more oxygen-rich environment. You are also more likely to be breathing in fewer pollutants (污染物), especially if the forest or woods are away from a main road or airline.
One study found that when we experience nature— whether by hiking in nearby mountains or simply looking at trees and birds on the way to work — we can increase our heart rate variability (可变性). This can lower the risks of many heart-related diseases.
Trees’ positive effects on our mental health have been well recorded. Researchers are even calling trees nature’s Prozac which is used to treat the illness of depression. When you hug a tree, you become grounded to its powerful roots, receiving energy that can help to fight depression (抑郁) year-round.
Trees are one of nature’s greatest stress-reducers. A study reported that hugging a tree for only 21 seconds can lead to an increase in oxytocin (催产素). The higher the level of oxytocin, the calmer and happier you may be. This is effective for people who suffer from nervousness and worry.
If you don’t have a tree in your yard, go visit the local park or hike in the closest woodlands. Find a tree and give it a hug. Get over your fear of embarrassment. So what if passers-by laugh at you? The hug you give is not just to the tree but to yourself and your spirit.

Living green is all about reducing resources you use, reusing items when you can, and recycling items that can’t be reused.
First, learn more about green living. Educate yourself on simple ways to reduce waste, save energy, and make eco-friendly choices.
Second, choose eco-friendly foods. The food we eat influences the environment. For example, food grown nearby doesn’t need to travel far, so it causes less air pollution. Besides, organic (有机的) farming avoids using pesticides (杀虫剂) that are bad for plants and animals. As a result, eating local and organic food is good for both the Earth and your health.
Avoid buying things with too much packaging. The packaging creates trash and hurts the environment. Also, you can try to buy second-hand things instead of buying new ones.
What’s more, keeping green travel is also important. You can walk or ride a bike to work. If the place you want to go is too far for a daily bicycle, you can take public transport.
Waste sorting is still a big deal. By sorting waste into different groups like recyclables (可回收垃圾), kitchen waste, and harmful waste, we can reduce pollution.
A.Next, spend your money wisely.
B.If you want to live green, here are practical steps to follow.
C.It seems like everyone’s “going green”.
D.If a new-energy car is not here at the moment, you can try other ways.
E.The first step is to understand how our daily habits influence the environment.

Want to start a garden but think it’s too hard or you don’t have space? Don’t worry! Gardening can be easy and fun.
Start Small and Smart
If you’re new, begin with plants that are easy to care for. Remember, a cactus (仙人掌) won’t do well in wet soil, nor a fern in hot sun. If you don’t have much sun, try plants like peas that can grow with less light.
Save Space by Mixing Plants
In a small space, you can grow food and flowers together! For example, planting marigolds near tomatoes can keep pests away from the tomatoes. This is a natural way to protect your vegetables.
Grow Your Own Food Easily
Even on a sunny windowsill, you can grow herbs (香草) in a small pot with good soil and a hole at the bottom for water to run out. You grow them in a low box indoors, and they are ready in weeks.
Solve Common Problems
Not much time or space? Choose smaller types of plants like strawberries. They are made for small pots. Don’t know when to water? Just push your finger into the soil. If it feels dry, it’s time to water. Water slowly until it runs out of the bottom of the pot.
Gardening is about enjoying the process. Start with something easy, and enjoy your own fresh flowers and food!
A.Remember, plants use more water when they are growing fast.
B.Choose plants that fit your space’s sunlight and soil.
C.For a super-fast crop, try “microgreens”— tiny, healthy young plants.
D.This saves room, looks beautiful, and can help the plants.
E.You should always prepare the soil with special plant food first.
1.
2.
3.
4.
5.In your opinion, what is the most important advice for a new gardener? Why?
1.B 2.D 3.C 4.A 5.Start small with easy plants. Because it builds confidence and avoids early failure.
1.根据本段标题“Start Small and Smart”及“Remember, a cactus won’t do well in wet soil, nor a fern in hot sun.”
2.根据“In a small space, you can grow food and flowers together!”
3.根据“…you can grow herbs in a small pot…”及“You grow them in a low box indoors, and they are ready in weeks.”
故选A。
Start small with easy plants. Because it builds confidence and avoids early failure.
A simple and common way to water plants is to hold a garden pipe (管) and let the water fall down directly on the plants and soil. This is a good choice that doesn’t waste water. It can also help stop plant disease. But a garden pipe isn’t the only way to water your plants.
The When and How of Watering This lets the water go deeply into the soil before the weather gets too hot. If you water late in the day, the water will just evaporate (蒸发) from the surface. If you water in the evening, the plants stay too wet overnight.
If you water quickly every day, it doesn’t help the roots, which can spread over 30 centimeters into the soil. Water the soil less often, but deeply. Be careful when watering very dry soil because the water will just run off without getting into the soil. Water your plants slowly and make sure the water is taken in by earth.
Collect and Reuse Water
Instead of emptying water out after boiling foods, keep it and reuse it to water plants. Just make sure the water does not have salt in it. You can also catch and use rainwater.
Choose Native Plants
Most gardeners just think about which plants look good and the plants’ sunlight needs. But watering needs should be considered, too. Drought-resistant (抗旱的) plants shouldn’t be overwatered when trying to keep thirstier plants watered.
It’s also best to use plants that are native to the area where you live. These plants are likely to be resistant to drought. After that, they can live on just rainwater except for during times of extreme heat.
A.They just need watering for the first two years.
B.It’s also important to collect different kinds of water.
C.The best time to water your plants is in the morning.
D.How you water is just as important as when you water.
E.One way to help keep costs low for watering is to use used water.
1.
2.
3.
4.
5.How will you water your plants if there isn’t enough water around?(不超过15词)
1.C 2.D 3.E 4.A 5.I’ll reuse rainwater or boiled water to water them.
1.根据后文“This lets the water go deeply into the soil before the weather gets too hot. If you water late in the day... If you water in the evening...”
2.根据后文“If you water quickly every day, it doesn’t help the roots... Water the soil less often, but deeply... Water your plants slowly...”
3.根据前文小标题“Collect and Reuse Water”及后文“Instead of emptying water out after boiling foods, keep it and reuse it to water plants.”
4.根据前文“These plants are likely to be resistant to drought.”及后文“After that, they can live on just rainwater except for during times of extreme heat.”
I’ll reuse rainwater or boiled water to water them.

1. 句子还原:文中挖4处空白,给出5个完整句子选项,从中选出4个填入对应空格,剩余1个为无关干扰项,主要考查上下文语句衔接与逻辑理解能力;
0. 段落开头空格:优先选择概括段落主旨、引出下文的总起句,统领整段内容;
0. 段落中间空格:选择承接前后语句、补充解释或举例说明的过渡句,保证上下文语义连贯;
1. 句子还原切忌纠结单个空格,先易后难,做完简单题目再突破难题,减少答题卡顿;
1. 简答题切勿照抄原文整句话,一定要精简语言,避免超字数失分;
