Since I started training in artistic swimming, I have had the best time of my life. My dance experience has helped me pick up the skills and grace (优雅) necessary for the sport. I am also lucky to be in a wonderful club, Crystal Aquatics, and I am forever thankful to my coach, Crystal, for believing in me and sending me to my first competition.
The competition served as a great learning experience for me, and the memory remains clear today. I had practiced hard for the competition, and I was excited and nervous on that day. My family and my friend Emily were with me to give me encouragement. My coach helped me with my warm-up and gave me support as well. I was really touched by their love. When it was my turn, I was in high spirits and took my position.
I waited for the music. However, the music did not come. I was counting in my head, dived (潜入) into the water and began my performance, until I was stopped by my coach. I then realized that I had started too early. It was a wrong start. I felt very embarrassed. However, at that point, I also felt a rush to prove (证明) that I could still do it.
For a second time, I dived into the water and put 200 percent effort. When I was done, my coach, family and friend said, “Good job!” Although they were encouraging and tried to comfort me, I still felt that I had let everyone down.
Later that day, my coach messaged me that she was proud of me and that, even with the wrong start, I had done well and completed my routine (动作) beautifully. She also shared a photo of me during my performance. It showed my excitement and happiness while I was dancing in the water.
This experience reminded me that life isn’t about victory all the time. What truly matters is finding joy in doing what you love and having the courage to get back up after failing. If we don’t give up, every failure can make us stronger to keep going.

A. Artistic swimming is too difficult.
B. Rising from failure matters more than victory.
C. Winning is as important as enjoyment.

Birds are our important friends in cities. They sing to us and help keep the environment clean. But city life can be hard for birds. We should help them by making our cities more bird-friendly.
One easy way to help is by planting trees and flowers in our gardens, schools or parks. Birds love to eat the seeds and insects that these plants attract. Having more plants can also give birds places to build their nests and rest.
Another way to help birds is by reducing noise and light pollution. Loud noises can scare birds away from their homes, and bright light at night can confuse (使迷惑) them. We can use quieter machines and turn off lights when we don’t need them.
People can also help by cleaning up litter. Rubbish can hurt birds if they try to eat it or get caught in it. Keeping our cities clean is good for both birds and humans.
Schools and community groups can organize bird-watching activities. These activities help s learn more about the birds around us and how we can protect them. When we understand birds better, we can find more ways to help them.
Using technology can also help us protect birds. For example, apps can tell us where birds like to live and what they need to survive (生存). This information can help us make better decisions about how to care for birds in our cities.
In a word, there are many ways we can use to help birds in our cities. By following these ways, we can make our cities better places for birds to live.

A. Small actions can make cities better for birds.
B. Planting trees is the only useful way to help birds.

D. Human behaviour makes no difference to birds.
( ) 65. What is the writer mainly trying to do in the text?

Change is a natural part of our life. It happens all around us, whether we like it or not. Personally, I believe that change is a good thing. It helps us grow, learn, and become better versions (版本) of ourselves. However, I must say that change can be challenging and even scary at times.
When we are used to a certain way of living or thinking, a fixed pattern (固定模式) sets in. We have already been used to some fixed patterns. These patterns seem to be comfortable. So this makes it difficult to change. This is called path dependence, and it can hold us back from reaching our full abilities.
Laziness and fear often lead to this cycle. For example, I used to put off my tasks until the last moment. Whenever I faced a challenge, my first idea was to avoid it. As a result, I did not make much progress. But then, I realized that if I wanted to improve myself, I had to change my attitude (态度) towards challenges. I decided to accept challenges and face difficulties directly. It was a smart choice, as I began to see little progress in my life. Breaking the cycle of path dependence requires pushing me out of my comfort zone (舒适圈) and finding new goals. Letting go of old habits and developing new ones can bring me success.
Our worth should not be decided by external evaluations (外部评价) but by how we see ourselves. Life should be unusual, and we should try hard to be like blooming summer flowers. Accepting change requires courage, especially for old people. We should not fret about whether the change we have made is right or wrong. Every time we challenge ourselves, we are moving towards a brighter future.
( ) 66. What does the writer think about change?
A. It is always easy and comfortable.
B. It helps people grow and improve.
C. It should be avoided as much as possible.
D. It is always challenging and scary.
( ) 67. What did the writer do to improve himself?
A. He avoided all challenges. B. He kept his old habits.
C. He faced difficulties directly. D. He asked others for help.
( ) 68. What does the writer probably agree with?
A. Everyone wants to break fixed patterns.
B. Following path dependence is the way to success.
C. Facing changes is difficult but necessary and helpful.
D. Old people are easier to change than young people.
( ) 69. What does the underlined word “fret” probably mean in the last paragraph?
A. Know. B. Talk. C. Worry. D. Hear.
( ) 70. What is the best title for the text?
A. Do Things in a Certain Way B. Look Inside to Show Your Worth
C. Accept Changes in Your Life Actively D. Find New Ways to Solve Challenges
