The lantern parade dances in the moonlight, like fish, chasing the moon reflected in the water.
In the crowd, Wang Lijun, a 27-year-old villager who serves as the “head fish”, leads the parade of lanterns. Sometimes she cheers on the team behind her. Traditionally, respected elders held the position of “head fish”, but in recent years, younger players returning to their hometown have taken on the role as volunteers. “It has become an emotional connection. Such an energetic custom has attracted more young villagers like me back home, and also young tourists flooding in to experience this traditional Chinese culture,” Wang said.

Wang Huawu, a 41-year-old craftsman of fish-shaped lanterns, said that since 2023, his workshop has been “filled with orders” and has received nearly 100,000 yuan worth of orders from Beijing, Shanghai and Guangdong.

Passage 5
(25-26八年级下·全国·单元测试)Last spring, I took a trip to my grandma’s hometown with her. It was a small village in northern Jiangsu, and it was my first time there. Grandma told me a lot of stories about her childhood there, and I was shocked by how much the village had changed.
Grandma was born in the village in 1955. When she was a little girl, the village was very poor. There were only muddy roads in the village, and on rainy days, people could hardly walk. Most families lived in old thatched cottages, and they didn’t have enough food to eat. The nearest town was 10 kilometres away, and people had to walk there to buy things, which took more than two hours.
“At that time, the only dream of most people was to have enough food to eat and warm clothes to wear,” Grandma said. “I never thought life could be so good in the future.”
When we drove into the village, I couldn’t believe my eyes. The muddy roads had been replaced by wide, clean paved roads, with street lamps on both sides. Rows of new two-floor houses stood along the roads, with beautiful gardens in front of the doors. Every family had TVs, fridges and cars. There was a big square in the centre of the village, with a fitness area, a library and a community hospital.
Grandma met her old friends in the square. They told us that the village had developed a special vegetable planting industry in recent years. Villagers sell their vegetables to big cities through the internet, and many young people have come back to the village to start their own businesses. The government has also helped build new schools and improve the living environment.
We stayed in the village for three days. Grandma walked around the village every day with a big smile on her face. She said she was so happy to see the great changes in her hometown.
That trip taught me a lot. I saw with my own eyes how the life of Chinese villagers has improved over the years. The changes are not just in the houses and roads, but also in people’s minds. They are full of hope for the future, and they are working hard to make their hometown better.

A.It was a rich village with wide paved roads.
B.It was a poor village with muddy roads and old houses.
C.It was a modern village with many cars and new houses.
D.It was a famous tourist village with many visitors every year.
2.Why have many young people come back to the village?
A.Because they can start their own businesses through the vegetable planting industry.
B.Because the village has become a famous tourist attraction.
C.Because they don’t want to work in big cities any more.
D.Because the government gives them money to come back.
3.What does the underlined sentence in the last paragraph mean?
A.The changes in the village have made people richer, but they are not happy.
B.The most important change is that people have become more hopeful and hard-working.
C.The changes in people’s minds are not as important as the changes in roads and houses.
D.The village has changed a lot, but people’s minds are still the same as before.
4.What can we learn from the writer’s trip?
A.The writer’s grandma has never left her hometown.
B.The villagers still live a very poor life now.
C.The writer doesn’t like the changes in the village.
D.The development of the village comes from the government’s support and people’s hard work.

Passage 2
(25-26八年级下·全国·单元测试)When I was in Grade 7, I learnt about the Louvre Museum in my art lesson. Our teacher showed us a photo of the Mona Lisa, and told us a lot of stories about the famous museum in Paris. I was very interested in it, but I never thought I could visit it one day, because my family could not afford a trip to France.
Last year, our art teacher told us that the Louvre Museum had a free online tour on its official website. I was so excited that I ran home after school and turned on my computer right away. I found the online tour page easily, and started my amazing trip.
The online tour was perfect. I could “walk” through every hall of the museum freely, just like I was there in person. I could zoom in on every painting and sculpture to see the smallest details, which I could never do in a real museum with crowds of people. There were also clear English introductions for every artwork, so I could learn about the history and stories behind them. I spent over 3 hours in the online tour, and I even forgot to have dinner.
I saw the Mona Lisa, of course. Through the screen, I could see the smile on her face clearly. I also saw the famous sculpture Venus de Milo, and many other great works of art. I took a lot of screenshots of my favourite artworks, and put them in my art notebook.
That online tour not only let me see the amazing artworks in the Louvre, but also opened a new world for me. I learnt that the Internet can help us achieve our dreams, even if we can not travel far away. Now, I often take online tours of different museums around the world in my free time. Every online tour is a new adventure, and I can always learn something new.

B.Because her family could not afford the trip to France.
C.Because she was too young to travel abroad alone.

Passage 3
(25-26八年级下·江苏南京·月考)Many tourism platforms (平台) in China have used AI technologies, while some provinces and cities have designed their own AI tourism service platforms with special features. On some popular tourism platforms, tourists can give simple instructions, such as asking about must-visit attractions for a three-day trip to Shanghai. AI usually gives helpful answers within minutes.
Mr Liang, CEO of a travel company, said, “AI solves 80% of users’ questions in minutes, cutting trip-planning time from 9 hours to 6.6 hours.”
Guizhou and Shanghai have introduced AI assistants (助手) for travellers. Guizhou’s “Huang Xiao Xi”, a digital guide in traditional clothing, creates travel plans in just a few seconds. “Hu Xiao You”, a smart tourism system used in Shanghai, provides real-time updates on traffic at tourist sites, public transport, nearby shops, and even toilet locations.
Museums are also using AI. Wearable smart guides provide guiding tours at a lower cost than human guides. They also allow visitors to change the speed of introductions according to their own choice. With new tools like virtual reality (VR,虚拟现实), augmented reality (AR,增强现实), and three-D technology, users can “talk” to historical figures (人物), “communicate” with cultural relics, and watch ancient paintings come to life. These high-tech methods break down the distance between visitors and cultural heritage, making ancient history easier to understand and remember.
Gan Chunhui, a researcher in Shanghai, believes AI brings new ways of working in tourism. “Instead of taking the place of traditional jobs, China makes use of technology to breathe new life into these roles,” Gan said. “For tourists, this means more personalized and convenient trips that deepen their understanding of Chinese culture. For local communities, AI helps keep valuable heritage alive without changing the natural beauty of historical sites.”
1.How does Paragraph 3 support its main idea?
A.By giving examples of AI tools.
B.By showing different opinions.
C.By discussing difficulties we meet.
D.By discussing tourism in different times.
2.What can be inferred about AI in museums from the article?
A.It makes visiting more expensive.
B.It works faster than human guides.
C.It provides lively visiting experiences.
D.It shows more pictures than real objects.
3.What is Gan Chunhui’s opinion about AI in tourism?
A.AI will finally take the place of traditional jobs.
B.AI is not helpful for protecting cultural heritage.
C.The tourism industry depends too much on AI technology.
D.AI brings positive effects to both tourists and local communities.
4.What would be the best title for this passage?
A.AI Makes Tourism Smarter in China
B.The Rise of Online Travel Companies
C.Planning a Perfect Trip to Shanghai
D.Why Traditional Tourism Is Dying

(25-26八年级下·江苏宿迁·月考)Online Travel: Good or Bad?
Nowadays, more and more people choose to travel online. With the help of technology, we can visit famous places without leaving home. But is online travel really good?
Online travel has many advantages. First, it saves money. You don’t need to pay for transport or hotels. Second, it saves time. You can visit many places in a short time. Third, it is safe. You don’t need to worry about accidents or bad weather.

The morning sun shone on the sea, and a cool wind carried the taste of salt and success. “After ten long years, they’ve finally given up!” the captain said, raising his sword (剑) high. The Trojans below cheered and jumped, “We’ve won! The Greeks are gone!”
Just then, an old soldier (士兵) named Hector narrowed his eyes and pointed towards the beach. “Captain, look! They left something behind—a giant wooden horse!” The captain laughed, “Those foolish Greeks! They built it but couldn’t even take it home!” He turned to his soldiers. “Bring it inside! Let it stand in our city as a symbol of our success!”
Some of the soldiers were not sure, “what if it’s a trick? The Greeks are cunning (狡猾的).” The captain shouted, “Shut up! After ten years of fighting, they’ve failed. This horse is our prize!” He asked Trojans to pull the giant horse through the gates with ropes.

Passage 1

Every year, villagers in Wangmantian hold fish-shaped lantern parades during the Spring Festival. The mountain village often faced the risk of fires in old times. ▲Over time, such a tradition has developed into a wish for good health and wealth. Total sales of fish-shaped lanterns and related products rose to about 1.15 million yuan ($159,700) during the 2025 Spring Festival. Wang Huawu, a 41-year-old craftsman of fish-shaped lanterns, said that since 2023, his workshop has been “filled with orders” and has received nearly 100,000 yuan worth of orders from Beijing, Shanghai and Guangdong.

(24-25八年级下·辽宁阜新·期中)This September I had the chance to come to China for the first time and visited Yunnan Province.
On the first day, we went to a village named Xiaopingzhai. I was amazed to discover that a small tea factory could bring in 6 million yuan a year with only 20 workers.
The next stop of our trip was the village of Kangmian. The new village has 450 housing units. There I have learned that the government helps the people by providing (提供) jobs so that they can support themselves. Of the 1,331 villagers, 609 now have jobs.
In Shuiduichong, a traditional Yao ethnic group (瑶族) village, we visited the workshops for making silver ornaments (银饰品). We discovered the skill and a history of more than 200 years. Besides the traditional use of silver ornaments in Yao culture, these objects have a high value.
A set of silver ornaments can be sold for between 10,000 and 20,000 yuan on the market. The making of silver ornaments creates jobs in the village, Shuiduichong now has more than 20 family workshops.

Passage 4
(25-26八年级下·全国·单元测试)The sun was setting behind the hills when Sun Shaoping got off the bus. He stood at the entrance of his village, unable to believe his eyes. It had been 5 years since he left his hometown to work in the city.
The last time he came back, the road into the village was narrow and muddy. His shoes were covered with mud after just a few steps. But now, a wide paved road stretched from the main road all the way to the centre of the village. On both sides of the road, there were tall poplar trees, and street lamps stood every 100 metres.
______ He remembered that most families lived in cave houses dug into the hills. Some of the houses were so old that they leaked when it rained. But now, rows of new houses with red roofs and white walls had been built along the road. Many houses had solar water heaters on the roofs, and some even had small gardens in front of the doors.
As he walked into the village, he saw a big square in the centre. There was a basketball court, a fitness area and a small library. Some young men were playing basketball, and a group of elderly people were playing chess under a big tree. He met an old man who was his primary school teacher. The teacher told him that the village had built a new primary school, and all the children could go to school for free.
The teacher also told him that the village had set up a farmers’ cooperative. They grew apples on the hills, and sold them to big cities through the internet. Many young people who used to work in the city had come back to start their own businesses.
Shaoping walked around the village until it got dark. He looked at the bright street lamps and the warm lights from the houses. He had always thought that the city was the only place to have a good life. But now he realized that his hometown was also full of hope and chances.

【答案】1.A 2.B 3.B 4.C
【导语】本文主要介绍了孙少平时隔5年后回到家乡,看到了村庄发生的翻天覆地的变化。
1.第一段“Sun Shaoping got off the bus. He stood at the entrance of his village”对应了②讲述的事件,以此可以排除选项C和D,第二段关键信息“the road … was narrow and muddy. … But now, a wide paved road …”对应④讲述的事件,第四段“As he walked into the village, he saw a big square in the centre. …”和“The teacher told him that the village had built a new primary school,”对应了①讲述的事件,第五段“The teacher also told him that the village had set up a farmers’ cooperative.”
3. 第五段“The teacher also told him … set up a farmers’ cooperative. They grew apples on the hills, and sold them to big cities through the internet.”
1.What was Grandma’s hometown like when she was a little girl?
【答案】1.B 2.A 3.B 4.D

3.最后一段第三句指出“The changes are not just in the houses and roads, but also in people’s minds”,结合后文“They are full of hope for the future, and they are working hard”可知,划线句强调最重要的变化是人们变得更有希望且更努力。
4.全文描述了村庄在道路、房屋、产业等方面的变化,第四段提到“The government has also helped...”,最后一段提到“they are working hard...”。综合可知,村庄的发展源于政府支持和人们的辛勤努力。

Every year, villagers in Wangmantian hold fish-shaped lantern parades during the Spring Festival. The mountain village often faced the risk of fires in old times. ▲Over time, such a tradition has developed into a wish for good health and wealth. With a history of over 600 years, the fish-shaped lantern was recognized as a provincial-level intangible cultural heritage (非遗) in 2022. Through social media, more than 100,000 visitors from across the country came to Shexian County to experience the parades during the Spring Festival from February 10th to February 17th in 2025.
While protecting the intangible cultural heritage, local people have made efforts on business forms related to the fish-shaped lantern.

(25-26八年级下·江苏徐州·单元测试)Childhood is Leo Tolstoy’s first novel. This novel shows us the growth process of children. Let’s read the first part of it together now.
On the 12th of August, I was awakened at seven o’clock in the morning by Karl Ivanitch. He slapped (拍打) the fly on the wall close to my head with a fly-flap (苍蝇拍) made of sugar paper and a stick. He was too careless and he hit the picture behind my bed. Unluckily, the dead fly fell down on my hair. I flicked (弹) the dead fly on the floor with my finger. I looked at Karl Ivanitch with sleepy, wrathful eyes. He wore a cotton coat and a red hat. He went on walking around the wall and slapping flies.
I thought to myself, “I am just a small boy. Why did he trouble me? Why didn’t he go killing flies around Woloda’s bed? No! Woloda is older than me. And I am the youngest of the family. He woke me up, but he pretended not to notice it. I don’t like him. I don’t like his clothes and hat.”
But while I was thinking about this, Karl Ivanitch walked to his bed and looked at his watch. Then he turned around to us in the most cheerful mood.
“Get up, children! Your mother is already in the dining room,” said loudly. Then he sat down at my feet. “Well, well, little lazy one!” he said with a smile.

根据第二段“On the 12th of August, I was awakened at seven o’clock in the morning by Karl Ivanitch. He slapped (拍打) the fly on the wall close to my head with a fly-flap (苍蝇拍) made of sugar paper and a stick.”可知,是伊万尼奇拍打墙上的苍蝇把男孩吵醒了。故选B。
2.词句猜测题。根据第二段“I flicked (弹) the dead fly on the floor with my finger. I looked at Karl Ivanitch with sleepy, wrathful eyes. He wore a cotton coat and a red hat. He went on walking around the wall and slapping flies.”

Passage 4
(24-25八年级下·江苏苏州·期中)
The captain stood proudly on the high walls of Troy (特洛伊), looking at the empty beach where the Greek (希腊) ships had once been.
That night, the city held a big celebration. Torches lit up the square as people danced and sang around the wooden horse. “To the stupid Greeks!” a drunk soldier sang and raised his cup. “They spent years building this horse, only to leave it behind! I haven’t laughed like this since my childhood!” the captain laughed and said.
As the party died down, the Trojans locked all the gates of the city and then all went to sleep.
At midnight, the square fell into silence. A hidden door on the horse’s belly (腹部) suddenly opened, and a Greek soldier came out. Then armed Greek soldiers went out one by one, they moved quickly and quietly in the darkness. Within minutes, the Greeks unlocked the gates, flooding the city.
Early in the morning, Troy was in big fire. The Greeks, who had failed for ten years, had won with a single trick. The captain’s joy turned to fear as he finally got to know: the horse was never a gift—it was a trap, and the “gift” had destroyed (摧毁) them.
1.Why did the Trojans bring the wooden horse into the city?

B.Because they believed it was a gift from the gods.
C.Because they wanted to burn it to celebrate success.

A.By attacking the city with a stronger army. B.By hiding soldiers inside the wooden horse.

A.They prepared for another war. B.They thanked the Greeks for leaving.
C.They killed the men in the wooden horse. D.They sang, danced, and joked about the Greeks.
