--Thanking you for helping me。
--Don't mention it.
--How about your interview on Sunday?
--Don't mention it! I failed.
It doesn’t matter. That’s all right. Never mind. Don't worry about it. That's OK.

Beijing Opera is the most typical of all Chinese traditional dramatic art forms and the largest Chinese opera form. Having a history of about 200 years, it is developed from absorbing many other dramatic forms, mostly from the local drama “Huiban”, which was popular in South China during the 18th century. It is a scenic (舞台的) art including music, performance, literature, aria (唱腔) and face painting.
Theatrical art forms in many other countries do not present singing, dancing and spoken parts in one single drama. An opera singer, for example, neither dances nor speaks on stage; there are no singing or dancing parts in a modern play; in a dance drama, the dancer bas no speaking role and does not sing either. Traditional Chinese drama, including Beijing Opera, is a kind of entertainment which includes spoken parts, singing, dancing and acrobatics (杂技).
Besides its presence in China, Beijing Opera has spread to many other places. Mei Lanfang, one of the most famous performers of all time, was the first to introduce Beijing Opera to foreigners and made highly successful tours to foreign countries.
“You will be puzzled (困惑的) all the way through and a little bored from time to time; but you will be charmed and interested. Have you ever stood before Vincent van Gogh’s masterpiece The Starry Night and felt as though the sky were truly in motion? It turns out that this sensation wasn’t your eyes playing tricks on you or a mere product of your imagination. Recent scientific analysis suggests that the swirling (打旋) patterns captured on canvas are not just artistic expressions but accurate representations of atmospheric physics. A team of researchers has discovered that Van Gogh’s brushstrokes mirror real-world turbulence (湍流) with a level of precision that is scientifically astonishing.
To understand this connection, researchers analysed the digital images of the painting by treating the varying brightness of the colours as a measure of kinetic energy (动能) . What they found was astonishing. The patterns in The Starry Night correspond to two important principles in fluid dynamics: Kolmogorov’s law (柯尔莫哥洛夫定律) and Batchelor’s scaling (巴切勒标度). Don’t worry if these terms sound abstract — let’s break them down.
Kolmogorov’s law describes how energy flows from larger to smaller scales in turbulent flows. Imagine a big swirl breaking down into smaller and smaller ones. This is what happens in the atmosphere, oceans, and other fluid systems. Amazingly, it’s what Van Gogh’s work seems to represent. Batchelor’s scaling, on the other hand, deals with the finer details. The researchers found that the fine details in Van Gogh’s brushstrokes match this principle, which describes how substances like heat or pollutants spread in a turbulent fluid.
Finding both of these patterns in one system is rare, which makes this discovery even more exciting. “It reveals a deep and intuitive (直觉的) understanding of natural phenomena. Van Gogh’s precise representation of turbulence might be from studying the movement of clouds and the atmosphere or an inborn sense of how to capture the dynamism of the sky,” says Yongxiang Huang, the study’s lead author. The fact that an artist in the 19th century could capture these complex dynamics so accurately is remarkable.
This research bridges the gap between the emotional power of art and the empirical rigour (实证严谨性) of science. It demonstrates that beauty and scientific truth are not contradictory; rather, they can be deeply interconnected. So, the next time you look at The Starry Night, remember that you’re not just seeing a beautiful painting. You are watching the turbulent dance of the atmosphere, frozen in time by a genius who saw the world differently.
26.What is the author’s purpose in asking the question in Paragraph 1?
A.To present the science behind a visual effect.
B.To highlight the illusion created by the artist.
C.To question the viewers’ ability to see details.
D.To evaluate the unrealistic nature of the work.
27.Which of the following best illustrates Kolmogorov’s law?
A. B.
C. D.
28.According to Paragraph 4, the researchers’ finding is remarkable because ______.
A.it proves Van Gogh studied physics theories
B.it suggests art describes nature better than science
C.it reveals a rare match between art and natural laws
D.it shows Batchelor’s scaling is widely used in painting
29.According to Huang, what likely explains Van Gogh’s precise depiction of turbulence?
A.His formal education in atmospheric physics.
B.The calculation of kinetic energy in colours.
C.The random movement of his brushstrokes.
D.His sharp observation or natural instinct.
30.What can be a suitable title for the passage?
A.Van Gogh: A Pioneer of Turbulence Research
B.Van Gogh: A Talented Artist or A Natural Scientist
C.The Starry Night: Art Teaches Atmospheric Physics
D.The Starry Night: Beauty Meets Scientific Precision
26.A 27.A 28.C 29.D 30.D
根据第一段“Recent scientific analysis suggests that the swirling (打旋) patterns captured on canvas are not just artistic expressions but accurate representations of atmospheric physics. (最近的科学研究表明,画布上所呈现的旋转图案并非仅仅是艺术表现形式,而是对大气物理现象的准确描绘。)”可知,第一段提出问题作者的目的是阐述一种视觉效果背后的科学原理。故选A。
根据第三段“Kolmogorov’s law describes how energy flows from larger to smaller scales in turbulent flows. Imagine a big swirl breaking down into smaller and smaller ones. (柯尔莫哥洛夫定律描述了在湍流中能量是如何从较大尺度向较小尺度流动的。想象一下一个巨大的漩涡逐渐分裂成越来越小的漩涡。)”可知,大漩涡不断分解成小漩涡,A选项最能体现柯尔莫哥洛夫定律。故选A。
根据第四段“Finding both of these patterns in one system is rare, which makes this discovery even more exciting. (在一个系统中同时发现这两种模式实属罕见,这使得这一发现更加令人兴奋。“它展现了对自然现象的深刻且直观的理解。梵高对湍流的精确描绘或许源于对云层和大气运动的研究,或者是与捕捉天空动态相关的与生俱来的感知能力,”该研究的首席作者黄永祥说道。)”可知,研究人员的这一发现令人瞩目,因为它揭示了艺术与自然法则之间罕见的契合点。故选C。
29.细节理解题。根据第四段“Van Gogh’s precise representation of turbulence might be from studying the movement of clouds and the atmosphere or an inborn sense of how to capture the dynamism of the sky (梵高对湍流的精准描绘或许源于他对云层和大气运动的研究,又或许源自他与生俱来的捕捉天空动态变化的能力)”可知,能够解释梵高如此精准地描绘出那种动荡景象的原因可能是:他的敏锐观察力或天生直觉。故选D。
根据第一段“Recent scientific analysis suggests that the swirling (打旋) patterns captured on canvas are not just artistic expressions but accurate representations of atmospheric physics. A team of researchers has discovered that Van Gogh’s brushstrokes mirror real-world turbulence (湍流) with a level of precision that is scientifically astonishing.
D
The end of the nineteenth century and the early years of the twentieth century were marked by the development of an international Art Nouveau style, characterized by sinuous lines, floral and vegetable motifs, and soft evanescent coloration. The Art Nouveau style was an eclectic one, bringing together elements of Japanese art, motifs of ancient cultures, and natural forms. The glass objects of this style were elegant in outline, although often deliberately distorted, with pale or iridescent surfaces. A favored device of the style was to imitate the iridescent surface seen on ancient glass that had been buried. Much of the Art Nouveau glass produced during the years of its greatest popularity had been generally termed “art glass.” Art glass was intended for decorative purposes and relied for its effect upon carefully chosen color combinations and innovative techniques.
France produced a number of outstanding exponents of the Art Nouveau style; among the most celebrated was Emile Galle (1846 — 1904). In the United States, Louis Comfort Tiffany (1843 — 1933) was the most noted exponent of this style, producing a great variety of glass forms and surfaces, which were widely copied in their time and are highly prized today. Tiffany was a brilliant designer, successfully combining ancient Egyptian, Japanese, and Persian motifs.
The Art Nouveau style was a major force in the decorative arts from 1895 until 1915, although its influence continued throughout the mid-1920’s. It was eventually to be overtaken by a new school of thought known as Functionalism that had been present since the turn of the century. At first restricted to a small avant-garde group of architects and designers, Functionalism emerged as the dominant influence upon designers after the First World War. The basic tenet of the movement — that function should determine form — was not a new concept. Soon a distinct aesthetic code evolved: form should be simple, surfaces plain, and any ornament should be based on geometric relationships. This new design concept, coupled with the sharp postwar reactions to the styles and conventions of the preceding decades, created an entirely new public taste which caused Art Nouveau types of glass to fall out of favor. The new taste demanded dramatic effects of contrast, stark outline and complex textural surfaces.
31.What does paragraph 1 mainly discuss?
A.Design elements in the Art Nouveau style.
B.The popularity of the Art Nouveau style.
C.Production techniques for art glass.
D.Color combinations typical of the Art Nouveau style.
32.The word “one” in line 3 refers to ________.
A.century B.development C.style D.coloration
33.Paragraph 1 mentions that Art Nouveau glass was sometimes similar to which aspect of ancient’ buried glass?
A.The distortion of the glass. B.The appearance of the glass surface.
C.The shapes of the glass objects. D.The size of the glass objects.
34.What is the main purpose of paragraph 2?
A.To compare different Art Nouveau styles.
B.To give examples of famous Art Nouveau artists.
C.To explain why Art Nouveau glass was so popular in the United States.
D.To show the impact Art Nouveau had on other cultures around the world.
35.The word “prized” in line 14 is closest in meaning to ________.
A.valued B.universal C.uncommon D.preserved
31.A 32.C 33.B 34.B 35.A

接着,第一段还提到“The glass objects of this style were elegant in outline, although often deliberately distorted, with pale or iridescent surfaces. 故选A。
根据文章第一段““The Art Nouveau style was an eclectic one, bringing together elements of Japanese art, motifs of ancient cultures, and natural forms. (新艺术运动风格是一种折衷的风格,它将日本艺术的元素、古代文化的图案和自然形态融合在一起。)”可知, “one”指的是“style”,即风格。故选C。
33.细节理解题。根据文章第一段“A favored device of the style was to imitate the iridescent surface seen on ancient glass that had been buried. (这种风格的一个受欢迎的手法是模仿古代埋藏玻璃上看到的彩虹色表面。)”可知,新艺术运动风格的玻璃有时与古代埋藏的玻璃在表面的外观上是相似的,因为它们都模仿了彩虹色的表面。故选B。
34.推理判断题。根据文章第二段“France produced a number of outstanding exponents of the Art Nouveau style; among the most celebrated was Emile Galle (1846-1904). In the United States, Louis Comfort Tiffany(1843-1933) was the most noted exponent of this style, producing a great variety of glass forms and surfaces, which were widely copied in their time and are highly prized today. Tiffany was a brilliant designer, successfully combining ancient Egyptian, Japanese, and Persian motifs.
根据文章第二段“In the United States, Louis Comfort Tiffany(1843-1933) was the most noted exponent of this style, producing a great variety of glass forms and surfaces, which were widely copied in their time (在美国,路易斯·康福特·蒂芙尼(1843-1933)是该风格最著名的代表人物,他创作出了多种玻璃形态和表面装饰,在当时被广泛模仿)”可知,路易斯·康福特·蒂芙尼创作出各种玻璃形式和表面,在当时被广泛模仿,如今受到高度重视。 故选A。

46.hidden 47.have placed 48.which 49.founder 50.with 51.highest 52.to be 53.were created 54.an 55.Dating
An over 600-year-old Ming Dynasty banknote与hide之间是被动关系,所以用过去分词作主语补足语,故填hidden。
此处表示对过去发生的事情不太确定的推测,用may have done,故填have placed。
replace sth. with sth.
be estimated to be是固定搭配,意为“估计是……”,故填to be。

One typical healthy way is drinking herbal tea. Herbal tea, which is made from various natural herbs, can help us stay healthy and relieve stress. Another is having regular meals at fixed times. This habit, which we believe is crucial for digestion, keeps our body in good rhythm.
In my view, cross-cultural exchange isn’t just about copying what we see. What matters is understanding the spirit behind these lifestyles. Only by doing so can we truly appreciate and learn from each other.
Thanks for your attention! I’m also eager to experience Western life to better understand Western culture.

You will be strongly attracted to Beijing Opera even if you know nothing of the dramatic background.” This is how one American traveller described his first experience in watching Beijing Opera.

A. B.
