meters tall.During a hug,it is able to move
its arms and perform different gestures(
)Copying the actions that humans
usually do during hugs, such as tapping
someone on the back,is necessary for
making the hug feel real.
During the study,volunteers who got
hugs from Moffully-II preferred hugs with
gestures over those without gestures.They
sensed the robot as friendlier and safer
when it made gestures, and they found the
hugs to be more enjoyable in general.
While some people may feel
uncomfortable with the idea of hugging a
robot instead of a human, hug robots offer
those who are in need of hugs another way
to meet their needs. This includes those in
nursing homes who hope for hugs, even if
they are provided by a robot.

Ⅱ.阅读理解
When I was at your age,my mom
always said,“I just want you to be happy..”
She didn't care what I became,as long as I
stayed happy.But what is happiness?Is it a
finishing line,or a road that never ends?
Is happiness on social media(社交媒
体)?It seems like that way.People post
perfect pictures of their best times online.
Apps like Weibo and Xiaohongshu make us
think we could be prettier,healthier,richer
3
and happier.However,studies show using
these Apps a lot can make people feel down.
One US study found that people who spend
over two hours a day on social media are
much easier to feel lonely and upset.
What if we're the ones posting? When
we share a happy moment,we must feel
happy,right?Yes,but I've learned about
the“hedonic treadmill'”.That is to say when
good things happen,we get happy and
excited.But after a while,we feel the same
as before.Happiness doesn't last long.As
one happy moment goes away,we need to
search for new ones. But social media makes
this harder than before.
Luckily, there's still hope for us to find
lasting happiness.This happens when we
allow ourselves to experience true feelings
like anger, fear and sadness. When we are
honest about our experiences,we can build
more meaningful connections with others.
And that can bring us more happiness than
any number of“likes(点赞)”on a mobile
screen!
March 20th is World Happiness Day.
Let it remind us that happiness isn't about
running after a picture-perfect life.Trying
to be happy all the time is impossible. So
pay attention to your own journey, and
accept all the feelings you'll have along
the way.
