拓展思考(示例)
Part 1
One day, I met a new classmate who sat alone at lunch. I wanted to talk to him but I felt nervous. So I smiled and asked him about his favourite sport. He smiled back and we started talking. It worked well and we became friends. I learned that breaking the ice is not that hard if you just start with a smile.
Part 2
When you go to Greece, remember that nodding your head means “no”, not “yes”. That is very different from China. Also, be careful with your feet. Do not show the bottom of your shoe because it is rude. It is important to learn these differences so you don’t accidentally offend anyone. For example, if you nod in Greece to say “yes”, people will get confused.
Part 3
I think being a good listener is the most helpful way to break the ice. Because when you ask questions about others, they feel respected and want to talk more. For instance, when I met a new teammate, I asked him about his favourite video game. He talked for ten minutes and we got along well. As a result, I didn’t have to worry about what to say. Listening made the conversation easy.
