Ask students to read the key words and expressions on the screen and predict what the speech will be about (e.g., "It’s about work procedures in electronic assembly."). Introduce the speech background: John, an experienced electronic assembly worker, is talking to new employees about work procedures. To review prior knowledge, activate students’ prediction ability, and prepare them for the listening task. Step 2 Key Vocabulary Learning (10 mins) Activity 1: Present the key words and expressions with explanations and example sentences: work procedure: the steps to follow to complete a job; e.g., "John is explaining the work procedure to new employees." solder: to join metal parts using melted metal; e.g., "We need to solder the components on the circuit board." circuit board: a flat board with electrical connections; e.g., "All components are installed on the circuit board." adjust: to change something slightly to make it work properly; e.g., "We adjust the product to make sure it functions well." clear up: to tidy the work area; e.g., "We need to clear up the worktable after finishing."
