1. 教学目标
It focuses on improving students’ language ability via food-related discourse, cultivating cultural awareness by understanding food diversity, developing thinking quality through critical discussion, and enhancing learning ability by guiding autonomous and cooperative learning.

Key points: Grasp the main idea and details of the passage about comfort food, and master core vocabularies and sentence patterns.
Difficult points: Understand the emotional and cultural connotations of comfort food and use target language to express personal views.
教学过程
Step 1 Lead-in
Show several pictures of traditional food from different countries and ask students to share their favorite food and the reason why they like it. Invite volunteers to speak actively and give positive feedback.Design Intent: Arouse students’ interest in the topic, connect their life experience, and create a relaxed English learning atmosphere to lay a foundation for text learning.
Step 2 Pre-reading
Teach key words and phrases in the text, such as comfort food, flavour, emotion, memory, culture, bond. Explain their meanings and usage in context with simple examples.
