She had to hold books really close to her face in order to read. After a visit to the eye doctor, Parkes got a pair of eyeglasses. “The first time I put them on, I couldn’t believe how clearly I could see,” she said. “They really made a big difference.” As she grew older, Parkes started to think bigger. Because of her experience, she knew eyeglasses are important to nearsighted (近视的) people. However, it’s hard for homeless people to get their eyesight tested or buy eyeglasses. She felt sorry and decided to help them. With her mother’s help, Parkes started the I Wanna See Project. They started to collect eyeglasses. They got 75 pairs by sharing the project with others and posting it online. They also put boxes for people to give away glasses. Later, a TV show reported Parkes’ story and her project got more pairs.” 所以①They put boxes in some places.(她们在一些地方放置了箱子)、②They posted the project online.(她们在网上发布了这个项目)、④They told others about the project.(她们告诉其他人关于这个项目)是正确的。故选A。 34. 根据最后一段“In the future, Parkes plans to organize more activities and let more people know about her project. She wants more teenagers to join her. She’s also thinking of becoming a doctor to help others.” 根据第三段“Because of her experience, she knew eyeglasses are important to nearsighted people. However, it’s hard for homeless people to get their eyesight tested or buy eyeglasses. She felt sorry and decided to help them.” C。 C After 10 years of difficult talks, nearly 200 countries agreed to a new United Nations (UN) agreement to protect the world’s oceans. The agreement has been the first of its kind in 40 years. It plans to protect 30% of the open oceans by 2030. Oceans cover about 71% of the Earth’s surface and are home to hundreds of thousands of different kinds of animals and plants. Healthy oceans are a very important part of a healthy planet. But the oceans are in trouble. Overfishing (捕捞过度) has had a terrible effect on many kinds of fish and other animals. Pollution from ships and other places has caused serious problems. In 1982, an agreement described the “high seas (公海)”, but it did not protect them. In these areas, all countries have the right to fish, send ships, and do research. The high seas cover about two-thirds of the ocean. But now people only protect 1.2% of the areas. Last December, over 110 countries agreed to protect 30% of their land and ocean areas by 2030. Without an international agreement, there was no way to make this goal meaningful for the whole ocean. The new agreement now makes this feasible (可行的). The new agreement tries to turn 30% of the high seas into protected areas by 2030. It also says that activities planned for the high seas must first be examined to see what kind of influences they might have on the ocean environment. Businesses in some countries hope to make a lot of money by getting valuable things from the bottom of the sea. Other businesses hope to find plants or animals in the ocean that could lead to new discoveries and new medicines. Many of the disagreements were about how valuable things would be shared between rich countries and poor ones. Poor countries wanted to make sure that the valuable things would help everyone, not just people in rich countries. 36.How many countries agreed to a new United Nations (UN) agreement to protect the world’s oceans? A.Nearly 20 countries. B.Very few countries. C.Just a few countries. D.Most countries in the world. 37.What does Paragraph 2 mainly show us? A.The problems oceans face. B.Some ways to protect oceans. C.Different kinds of ocean creatures. D.People’s different ideas about oceans. 38.What did over 110 countries agree to do last December? A.Stop all activities in the high seas. B.Share the ocean resources equally. C.Protect 30% of their land and ocean areas by 2030. D.Ban the extraction of valuable things from the sea bottom. 39.What can we know from the passage? A.The new agreement only tries to protect fish. B.All countries will stop fishing in the high seas. C.Valuable things from the oceans will go to rich countries. D.Many countries have paid attention to protecting the oceans. 40.Which of the following is the best title for the passage? A.The Importance of Oceans B.The Problems of the High Seas C.A New Agreement to Protect the Oceans D.Disagreements between Rich and Poor Countries 【答案】36.D 37.A 38.C 39.D 40.C 【导语】本文主要讲述了近200个国家达成一项新的联合国协议来保护世界海洋。 根据“nearly 200 countries agreed to a new United Nations (UN) agreement to protect the world’s oceans”可知几乎有200个国家,因此是世界上大部分国家。故选D。 37. 根据“But the oceans are in trouble.” 故选A。 38. 根据“Last December, over 100 countries agreed to protect 30% of their land and ocean areas by 2030.” 根据“nearly 200 countries agreed to a new United Nations (UN) agreement to protect the world’s oceans”,可知许多国家都重视保护海洋,故选D。 40. 根据“After 100 years of difficult talks, nearly 200 countries agreed to a new United Nations(UN) agreement to protect the world’s oceans.” C。 D Chinese people love food made of flour (面粉), like noodles, dumplings, flatbread... In the hands of skilled art workers, flour can be made into lovely models of people or animals to be enjoyed and played with, which brings a special pleasure. This art form can be called dough figurine (面人) making. Among all kinds of art styles of dough figurines, Beijing’s Dough Figurine Lang is different from other folk arts. It is filled with rich history and customs of the capital city. In 2008, it was in the list of national intangible cultural heritage Dough Figurine Lang was created by Lang Shao’an. Most of dough figurines are animals and persons from fairy tales, historical stories and local operas. Some finished products are simple forms put at the end of a thin stick for children to play with, while others are beautiful pieces of artworks on a table for display (陈列). For this reason, during the making steps, they are often mixed with some special ingredients to prevent them from breaking up, being eaten by insects or going bad. Lang Jiaziyu, born in 1995, is the third-generation inheritor (继承人) of Dough Figurine Lang. When he was young, he created Beijing Olympic Mascots (吉祥物)—shaped dough figurines which were highly praised. He looks a bit more modern than other folk art workers. In his skilled hands, pop cultural figures such as Nezha with smoky makeup, attract some young people. Like some of other folk arts in China, Dough Figurine Lang doesn’t get as much attention from the public as it is worth of. Many young people don’t like to take the time to get a skill that needs a lot of effort, which has led to a fall in the number of people working on folk art. Good folk art needs the effort of art workers from generation to generation. 41.What is special about Dough Figurine Lang? A.It uses special flour. B.It holds Beijing’s culture. C.It’s created by many famous artists. D.It shows people’s lifestyles and thoughts. 42.What does the underlined word “they” in Paragraph 2 refer to? A.Children. B.Workers. C.Dough figurines. D.Animals. 43.Why are special ingredients added to dough figurines? A.To help better store the finished products. B.To help shape dough into different forms. C.To keep colors brighter and more lasting. D.To make dough figurines more beautiful. 44.What is the writer’s purpose of writing the passage? A.To advise people to master a skill. B.To call on people to value this folk art. C.To teach people ways to appreciate the artworks. D.To show the present situation of the cultural heritage. 45.Which of the following can be the best title? A.Folk art badly calls for creation. B.A great folk art inheritor. A.The Importance of Oceans B.The Problems of the High Seas C.A New Agreement to Protect the Oceans D.Disagreements between Rich and Poor Countries D Chinese people love food made of flour (面粉), like noodles, dumplings, flatbread... C.Meaningful Beijing folk flour art. D.Dough figurines bridge tradition and fashion. The oil paper umbrella is a traditional Chinese handicraft.
