Jasmund National Park It lies on the west coast of the offshore island of Rugen. This UNESCO-protected site is the smallest of Germany's national parks. It is here that painter Caspar David Friedrich found himself inspired to create one of his masterpieces, Chalk Cliffs on Rugen, in 1818. Here long trails can take you all the way to the Rugen coastline, where white-sand beaches and blue waters wait. Berchtesgaden National Park Berchtesgaden is one of Germany's oldest and most beautiful conservation areas. Trails go in and out of the forest leading you along the banks of glassy lakes. The more adventurous visitors may choose paragliding (滑翔伞运动) from Mount Jenner and they can fly over 1800 meters. Back on the ground a network of more than 150 miles of walking trails twist through the forest. Southern Black Forest Nature Park The highland areas, with views over Switzerland and France are a good place for food-lovers. Activities in the park range from hiking and fishing to mountain biking, while the slower traveller will enjoy the trails for an escape from everyday life. The Bliesgau Biosphere This place is home to almost half of all German orchid (兰花) species. The grasslands spread for miles, drawing in different butterflies. Thanks to its comfortable climate, this is a region of sustainable development. In fact, this park is an example of farming done right and offers agricultural tricks to anyone eager to learn. 1. What is special about Jasmund National Park? A. It lies on the east coast of Rugen. B. It covers the smallest area. C. It is the most beautiful place. D. It offers beautiful glassy lakes. 2. What can visitors do in Berchtesgaden National Park? A. Draw inspiration for art. B. Enjoy fishing. C. Experience paragliding. D. Go for a bike ride. 3. Which place best suits people who are keen on planting? A. Jasmund National Park. B. Berchtesgaden National Park. C. Southern Black Forest NaturcPark. D. The Blicsgau Biosphere. B 2. C 3. 根据第二段的“This UNESCO-protected site is the smallest of Germany's national parks. (这个联合国教科文组织保护区是德国最小的国家公园。)”可知,Jasmund国家公园的特别之处在于它覆盖的面积最小。故选B。 【2题详解】 细节理解题。根据第三段的“ The more adventurous visitors may choose paragliding from Mount Jenner and they can fly over 1,800 meters. (更具冒险精神的游客可能会选择滑翔伞从詹纳山起飞,他们可以飞越1800米。) ”可知,游客在贝希特斯加登国家公园可以体验滑翔伞。故选C。 【3题详解】 推理判断题。根据最后一段的“In fact, this park is an example of farming done right and offers agricultural tricks to anyone eager to learn.(事实上,这个公园是一个正确耕种的例子,为任何渴望学习的人提供了农业技巧。)”可知,The Blicsgau Biosphere(布利斯高生物圈)最适合热衷于种植的人。故选D。 B Way back in the early 1940s — long before smartphones, voice assistants and semi-autonomous weapons — the late great sci-fi writer Isaac Asimov drew up a set of principles for the development of advanced robotic systems. Asimov was essentially an optimist, and his famous Three Laws of Robotics have influence in science and technology circles to this day. (1) A robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm. (2) A robot must obey the orders given it by human beings except where such orders would conflict with the First Law. (3) A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law. Now, almost 80 years later, legal academic and artificial intelligence expert Frank Pasquale has added four additional principles. Professor Pasquale says while Asimov’s ideas were well founded, they assumed a certain technological trajectory (轨迹) that no longer holds — innovations are not always for the good of humanity. “Whereas Asimov is talking about how we have robots help people and not harm them, I’m talking about how we guide the direction of technology,” he says. And he draws an important distinction between AI and what he terms IA — intelligence augmentation (增强). “The artificial intelligence goal is often to replace human beings, to create, for example, a robot doctor or a robot teacher. The intelligence augmentation goal is to help human beings.” “If we go for an artificial intelligence vision of replacement, that’s going to create a jobless future in many areas,” he says. “Whereas if we emphasize intelligence augmentation, that should actually increase both productivity and the value of labour.” “We’ve seen so many fields where technological advances have led to very troubling and harmful consequences like global warming. We’ve got to get ahead of these things.” he says. “We can’t just look at something like global warming and say, well, we’ll just get a technological fix out of it. We have to think very deeply about directing innovation.” 4. What do we learn about Isaac Asimov’s Three Laws of Robotics? A. They ignore robots’ interests. B. They focus on humans’ interests. C. They predict the development of AI. D. They have a history of nearly 70 years. 5. Which of the following beliefs did Isaac Asimov agree with? A. IA is more important than AI. B. Innovations do good to people. C. Robots will replace human beings. D. Technology can be harmful to people. 6. What is the core of intelligence augmentation? A. The development of robots. B. Humans’ depending on robots. C. The improvement of humans. D. Robots’ replacing human beings. 7. What attitude does Frank Pasquale take to technological advances? A. Critical. B. Confused. C. Optimistic. D. Cautious. B 5. B 6. C 7. 根据第三段中“A robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm. (机器人不得伤害人类,或因不作为而使人类受到伤害。)”、“A robot must obey the orders given it by human beings except where such orders would conflict with the First Law. (机器人必须服从人类给予的命令,除非该命令与第一定律相冲突。)”和“A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law. (机器人必须保护自身的存在,只要这种保护不与第一或第二定律相冲突。)”可知,阿西莫夫的三大定律始终将人类的利益放在首位。故选B。 【5题详解】 推理判断题。根据第二段中“Asimov was essentially an optimist (阿西莫夫本质上是个乐观主义者)”和第四段中“Professor Pasquale says while Asimov’s ideas were well founded, they assumed a certain technological trajectory that no longer holds — innovations are not always for the good of humanity. (帕斯奎尔教授表示,尽管阿西莫夫的观点有充分依据,但它们假设了一种不再成立的技术发展轨迹——创新并不总是对人类有益。)”可推知,阿西莫夫当时认为创新对人类是有益的。故选B。 【6题详解】 细节理解题。根据第六段中“The intelligence augmentation goal is to help human beings. (智能增强的目标是帮助人类。)”可知,智能增强的核心是帮助人类、提升人类。故选C。 【7题详解】 推理判断题。根据最后一段中“We’ve seen so many fields where technological advances have led to very troubling and harmful consequences like global warming. We’ve got to get ahead of these things. (我们已经看到,在许多领域,技术进步导致了非常令人困扰和有害的后果,比如全球变暖。我们必须提前应对这些问题。)”以及“We have to think very deeply about directing innovation. (我们必须非常深入地思考如何引导创新。)”可知,帕斯奎尔对技术进步持谨慎态度。故选D。 C In 1924, the world-famous sculptor Gutzon Borglum and his thirteen-year-old son took a trip together out west. They left their home in Connecticut and, days later, got off a train in Rapid City, South Dakota. Only about six thousand people lived in Rapid City; South Dakota had been a state for only thirty-five years. The Borglums actually were just in the center of the United States. Gutzon had come to South Dakota to see if he could find a mountain to carve into the biggest sculpture in the country. He was a patriotic man, and his idea was to give America a sculpture to glorify it. Perhaps it could be huge carvings of great Americans with heads as high as the tallest buildings. What an amazing idea! But many people thought it was crazy. And no one, not even Borglum himself, realized how hard it would be to do. Gutzon and his son, Lincoln, traveled into the wild country of the Black Hills. The Black Hills is an area 120 miles long and sixty miles wide. It rises up four thousand feet and more. The Borglum party climbed to the top of the tallest mountain, Harney Peak. Far away, Gutzon could see a granite (花岗石) mountain. It stood higher than the surrounding peaks. That would be the place for his giant sculpture! The name of the mountain was Mount Rushmore. Today, huge six-story-high carved heads of presidents George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt, and Abraham Lincoln gaze out from high on the granite face of Mount Rushmore. Borglum overcame an incredible number of obstacles to create this great national monument. He said it was like waging a one-man war. Mount Rushmore has become a symbol of patriotism and pride for many Americans. But people from all over the world travel to marvel at it. Even so, there are people who think it should not ever have been made. 8. What do we learn about South Dakota? A. It was a little wild. B. It had a long history. C. It had a large population. D. It was in the south of America. 9. Why did Gutzon Borglum leave his home? A. To explore nature. B. To seek his fortune. C. To complete a project. D. To take an adventure trip. 10. What is special about Mount Rushmore? A. Its economic status. B. Its political significance. C Its cultural advantage. D. Its geographical position. 11. Which of the following words can best describe Gutzon Borglum? A. Curious and smart. B. Kind and generous. C. Hardworking and practical. D. Ambitious and determined. A 9. C 10. B 11. 根据第一段“Only about six thousand people lived in Rapid City, South Dakota had been a state for only thirty-five years. (只有大约六千人住在拉皮德城,南达科他州成为一个州才35年。)”以及第三段“Gutzon and his son, Lincoln, traveled into the wild country of the Black Hills(古特松和他的儿子林肯前往了布莱克希尔斯这片荒野之地)”可知,南达科他州人口少,博格勒姆一家去的地方是荒野之地,所以南达科他州有点荒凉。故选A项。 根据第二段“Gutzon had come to South Dakota to see if he could find a mountain to carve into the biggest sculpture in the country. He was a patriotic man, and his idea was to give America a sculpture to glorify it.(古特松来到南达科他州,想看看是否能找到一座山,将其雕刻成全国最大的雕塑。他是个爱国的人,他的想法是给美国一座雕塑来彰显它的伟大)”可知,古特松·博格勒姆离开家乡是为了完成给美国创作一座能彰显其伟大的雕塑这一项目。故选C项。 【10题详解】 推理判断题。根据第四段“Today, huge six-story-high carved heads of presidents George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt, and Abraham Lincoln gaze out from high on the granite face of Mount Rushmore. Borglum overcame an incredible number of obstacles to create this great national monument. He said it was like waging a one - man war (如今,高达六层楼的美国历任总统——乔治·华盛顿、托马斯·杰斐逊、西奥多·罗斯福和亚伯拉罕·林肯——的巨大雕刻头像,高高矗立在拉什莫尔山的花岗岩峭壁上,凝望远方。博格勒姆克服了数不清的艰难险阻,才打造出这座伟大的国家纪念碑。他说,这过程就如同独自发起一场一个人的战役。)”以及最后一段“Mount Rushmore has become a symbol of patriotism and pride for many Americans(拉什莫尔山已成为许多美国人爱国主义和自豪感的象征。)” 根据第二段“Gutzon had come to South Dakota to see if he could find a mountain to carve into the biggest sculpture in the country. He was a patriotic man, and his idea was to give America a sculpture to glorify it. Perhaps it could be huge carvings of great Americans with heads as high as the tallest buildings. What an amazing idea!(古特松来到南达科他州,想看看是否能找到一座山,将其雕刻成全国最大的雕塑。他是个爱国的人,他的想法是给美国一座雕塑来彰显它的伟大。也许可以是伟大的美国人的巨大雕刻,头像和最高的建筑物一样高。多么惊人的想法!)”可知,古特松·博格勒姆有将一座山雕刻成全国最大雕塑的惊人想法,可推理出他是雄心勃勃的;再根据第四段“Borglum overcame an incredible number of obstacles to create this great national monument. He said it was like waging a one - man war(博格勒姆克服了难以置信的众多障碍才创造了这座伟大的国家纪念碑。他说这就像一场一个人的战争)”可知,他克服了众多障碍完成了这一伟大工程,可推理出他意志坚定。所以用“雄心勃勃的的和意志坚定的”来形容他最合适。故选D项。 D Egypt is home to more than 100 pyramids, including the landmark Giza pyramid which is the last-standing ancient wonder of the world. It is an example of the wisdom and skills of ancient development. The Great Pyramid of Giza has stood tall since the 26th Century BC, and took 27years to build, with around 2.3 million blocks of stone weighing 6 million tons. Giza is actually made up of three pyramids, Khufu, Khafre, and Menkaure—each one is named after a pharaoh (法老). Now, scientists are using High Energy Physics to scan (扫描) the Khufu structure at Giza. The new technology scans deeper into the pyramid than before, and then maps its inside structure. What we see now is only the central structure of the Great Pyramid. Although the pyramid has been studied closely for centuries, there are two mysterious holes that have kept archaeologists puzzled. One is around 98 feet long and 20 feet high and could be one large space or several rooms, according to scans of the pyramid, while the other is much smaller, just beyond the north face of the pyramid. Archaeologists are not sure what either space functioned as; the most exciting possibility is that the larger space is the hidden room to keep Khufu, who governed from around 2551BC to 2528BC. Finding holes in pyramids isn’t unusual, though. Nowadays, though, we have the technology to find out, compared to days gone by when examinations would have to blow up the pyramids to explore. “Since the instruments that are used are very large, they cannot be placed inside the pyramid, and therefore our approach is to put them outside and meticulously move them along the base. In this way, we can build up the required data set,” the team wrote in the paper. The technology is so precise that scientists may be able to even tell objects within the hole. 12. What can be learned about the Great Pyramid of Giza? A. It is named after a pharaoh. B. It is the largest ancient wonder of the world. C. It was built with around 6 million stones. D. It has a history of more than 4, 000 years. 13. What is paragraph 4 mainly about? A. The owner of the pyramid. B. The two mysterious holes. C. The advanced research technology. D. The central structure of the Giza pyramid. 14. What does the author think of the examinations in the days gone by? A. They caused damage. B. They took long to carry out. C. They used no equipment. D. They explained almost all puzzles. 15. What does the underlined word “meticulously” in paragraph 6 mean? A. Carefully. B. Quickly. C. Formally. D. Secretly. D 13. B 14. A 15. 根据第一段的“The Great Pyramid of Giza has stood tall since the 26th Century BC, and took 27years to build, with around 2.3 million blocks of stone weighing 6 million tons.(吉萨大金字塔自公元前26世纪以来一直屹立不倒,耗时27年,共有约230万块石头,重达600万吨)”可知,吉萨大金字塔于公元前2600建立,到目前为止,它的历史超过4000年。 根据第四段的“One is around 98 feet long and 20 feet high and could be one large space or several rooms, according to scans of the pyramid, while the other is much smaller, just beyond the north face of the pyramid. Archaeologists are not sure what either space functioned as; the most exciting possibility is that the larger space is the hidden room to keep Khufu, who governed from around 2551BC to 2528BC.(根据对金字塔的扫描,其中一个长约98英尺,高约20英尺,可能是一个大空间或几个房间,而另一个小得多,就在金字塔的北面之外。考古学家不确定这两个空间的功能是什么;最令人兴奋的可能性是,更大的空间是用来容纳胡夫的隐藏房间,胡夫统治时期约为公元前2551年至公元前2528年)”可知,本段主要是对两个神秘洞穴的介绍。故选B。 【14题详解】 推理判断题。根据倒数第二段的“Nowadays, though, we have the technology to find out, compared to days gone by when examinations would have to blow up the pyramids to explore.(然而,如今,与过去必须炸毁金字塔才能探索的日子相比,我们有技术可以找到答案)”推知,作者认为过去的研究方法会对金字塔造成破坏。故选A。 根据划线词所在句子“Since the instruments that are used are very large, they cannot be placed inside the pyramid, and therefore our approach is to put them outside and meticulously move them along the base. (该团队在论文中写道:“由于使用的仪器非常大,它们不能放在金字塔内,因此我们的方法是把它们放在外面,并沿着底座meticulously移动。这样,我们就可以建立所需的数据集)”可知,现在的设备非常大,为了不对金字塔造成破坏,因此只能放在外部,并且小心地移动,以获取所需的数据。由此猜测,划线词意为“小心地”,与carefully同义。故选A。 第二节(共5小题;每小题2.5分,满分12.5分) 阅读下面短文,从短文后的选项中选出可以填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有两项为多余选项。 AI refers to the ability of machines to interpret data and act intelligently, meaning they can make decisions and carry out tasks based on the data at hand. ___16___ And it will dramatically change our lives in very real ways. We weren’t poor by most standards, but things were definitely hard for us. My parents never shared their financial worries, choosing instead to let us have a carefree childhood. But I knew, as children often do, that there were times they went without and that certain things my friends had wouldn’t be available to me. Back in those days, hot lunch was a luxury for the wealthier kids, and hot-lunch buyers sat separately from the students who brought cold lunch. My siblings and I brought lunch from home every day: thick slices of homemade bread, three cookies and a small apple. We would look on longingly as the rich kids proudly sat down with their steaming plates of fried chicken cold milk, peaches and a slice of cake. I never said anything, but my first grade teacher, Mrs. Caruso, must have seen the desire in my eyes. One day she quietly pressed a note into my hand and whispered, “Give this to your mother.” I hurried home and gave my mom the note. She read it and smiled. “Well, Mrs. Caruso said because of all your hard work, she wants to buy your lunch tomorrow.” The next day, I proudly carried my tray of chicken across the cafeteria and took my seat at the hot-lunch table. Honestly, the food wasn’t as great as I had imagined, but I was pleased to be there and felt honored to be a part of the group. One rainy day, Mrs. Caruso asked me to stay after school. My stomach instantly dropped to the floor. Did she know I hadn’t finished my math sheet? After the other students had left, Mrs. Caruso said she was going to finish her work and then drive me home. It was raining, and she knew I had a long walk. We pulled up to my house and she got out, putting a few bags on the porch. “Tell your mom I had a few extra things she might want,” she said. Then she drove away. Inside the bags were clothes, toys, and books. 注意: 1.续写词数应为150左右; 2.请按如下格式在答题卡的相应位置作答。 That summer day, Mrs. Caruso invited me and my siblings to her home. _________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ The experiences made a great difference in my life. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 【答案】That summer day, Mrs. Caruso invited me and my siblings to her home. We were a bit nervous, as we had never been to a teacher’s house before. However, when we arrived, we were pleasantly surprised. Her home wasn’t as luxurious as we had imagined, but it was filled with warmth and love. She prepared a hearty lunch for us, and took us on a tour of her garden, which was filled with a variety of plants and flowers. She also showed us her study, which was filled with all sorts of books. We spent a delightful afternoon at her house, deeply moved by her kindness and hospitality. The experiences made a great difference in my life. Mrs. Caruso’s kindness and generosity taught me the importance of caring and helping each other. It was a lesson that I carried with me throughout my life, shaping my values and actions. I learned to appreciate what I had and to give back whenever I could. I also learned that kindness can come from unexpected places and that it’s the small acts of kindness that can make a big difference. 词汇激活 行为类 ①充满:be filled with/be full of ②感动:move/touch ③珍惜:appreciate/value/cherish 情绪类 ①紧张的:nervous/uptight/strained ②惊讶的:surprise/astonished 【点睛】【高分句型1】However, when we arrived, we were pleasantly surprised.(运用了when引导的时间状语从句) 【高分句型2】She also showed us her study, which was filled with all sorts of books.(运用了which引导的非限制性定语从句) 第1页/共1页 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $ 高二下期3月份月考试卷B卷 英语 第一部分 听力(共两节,满分30分) 第一节(共5小题;每小题1.5分,满分7.5分) 听下面5段对话。每段对话后有一个小题,从题中所给的A、B、C三个选项中选出最佳选项。听完每段对话后,你都有10秒钟的时间来回答有关小题和阅读下一小题。每段对话读两遍。 1. The more adventurous visitors may choose paragliding (滑翔伞运动) from Mount Jenner and they can fly over 1,800 meters. B Way back in the early 1940s — long before smartphones, voice assistants and semi-autonomous weapons — the late great sci-fi writer Isaac Asimov drew up a set of principles for the development of advanced robotic systems. C Robots will replace human beings. D. Technology can be harmful to people. 6. What is the core of intelligence augmentation? A. The development of robots. B. Humans’ depending on robots. C. The improvement of humans. D. Robots’ replacing human beings. 7. What attitude does Frank Pasquale take to technological advances? A. Critical. B. Confused. C. Optimistic. D. Cautious. C In 1924, the world-famous sculptor Gutzon Borglum and his thirteen-year-old son took a trip together out west. C. Its cultural advantage. D. Its geographical position. 11. Which of the following words can best describe Gutzon Borglum? A Curious and smart. B. Kind and generous. C. Hardworking and practical. D. Ambitious and determined. D Egypt is home to more than 100 pyramids, including the landmark Giza pyramid which is the last-standing ancient wonder of the world. D. 注意: 1.续写词数应为150左右; 2.请按如下格式在答题卡的相应位置作答。 That summer day Mrs. Caruso invited me and my siblings to her home. _________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ The experiences made a great difference in my life. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 第1页/共1页 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $
