Imagine a lively setting, full of laughter and curiosity. That was the scene and sounds of my classroom as I guided young minds through different adventures.
At our school’s learning center, I led a program that ranged from simple art projects and sports games to hands-on science experiments. We painted colorful pictures, kicked soccer balls across the field, and watched vinegar and baking soda fizz in clear cups. Every activity turned our classroom into a place for discovery and fun.
I enjoyed spending time with the kids I was helping and learning alongside. That was my favorite part about the program. One memorable class involved making bubbles (肥皂泡). The children ran after the floating bubbles, shouting with delight, and I felt like a child again, caught up in their wonder. That simple game showed me how small joys can turn a normal day into something special.
The positive effect of our classes rippled throughout the school. Other students noticed how happy our classroom sounded. They began to join in, and soon the entire learning center felt warmer and more welcoming.
However, as I started this journey, I found it hard to stay calm when the children became noisy. But as I spent more time with them, I learned patience, kindness, and how to show empathy (同理心). I discovered that gentle words and clear instructions could turn disorder into order. My “little friends” taught me as much as I taught them.
The energy and joy that filled the room not only impacted the children but left a long-lasting mark on me. They made me realize that education goes beyond textbooks. It’s about caring for each student, fanning their curiosity, and discovering the wonders of the world, one activity at a time.
24.What is a feature of the program?
A.It focuses on appreciating art. B.It leads students to love nature.
C.It holds various fun activities. D.It teaches students how to cook.
25.Why does the author mention the class about making bubbles?
A.To remind us how to act like a child.
B.To recall the moment in her childhood.
C.To highlight the joy of teaching kids.
D.To explain the importance of teamwork.
26.What does the underlined word “rippled” in paragraph 4 mean?
A.Shook. B.Spread. C.Differed. D.Ended.
27.What can we learn from the author’s story?
A.Teaching is learning. B.Think twice before you act.
C.Hard work pays off. D.A miss is as good as. a mile.

Despite the well-known benefits for children’s health, one in ten parents of preschoolers say that their children play outside just once a week or less. This is the finding of a survey of 710 parents of children aged 1 to 5, conducted in August by researchers from the University of Michigan Health C. S. Mott Children’s Hospital.
The survey showed that outdoor and imaginative play remain common, but screen-based activities are quickly catching up as a daily fixture of children’s lives. Nearly one-third of parents surveyed reported that their children regularly take part in “media play”, such as video games, while three in five said their children watch videos every day.
“Outdoor play is essential for young children’s learning and development,” said Sarah Clark, co-director of the survey. “Our report suggests that many families could support healthier development by encouraging a wider variety of play experiences. For example, parents could take their children to the park before shopping or use a short walk to play a game with jumping.”
The survey also pointed out that digital activities have become a common part of children’s daily lives. Most parents of preschoolers admitted (承认) that they often hand a phone or tablet to their children in the car, at restaurants or in public places when they would like them to be occupied (忙碌). While phones and tablets are convenient, Clark suggested other options, such as setting up a “quiet kit” with fun books, or small toys that children can use when on the go.
Additionally, the survey found that parental anxiety plays a role in limiting (限制) outdoor play. Four out of ten parents said they feel nervous when their children go too far or climb too high. While safety concerns are understandable, Clark stressed that a little independence helps children grow, encouraging curiosity and creativity. “Outdoor play doesn’t need to be perfect or educational to be beneficial,” she added. “Parents just need to make time and space for their children to play freely.”
28.What is the percentage of parents surveyed saying their children watch videos daily?
A.33%. B.40%. C.50%. D.60%.
29.What does the underlined word “essential” in paragraph 3 mean?
A.Harmful. B.Important. C.Challenging. D.Responsible.
30.What is probably Clark’s suggestion for parents?
A.Let children lead their own play. B.Allow children to play in groups.
C.Set up more screen time activities. D.Limit playtime for safety reasons.
31.Which can be a suitable title for the text?
A.Parents’ Role in Children’s Screen Time B.The Influence of Digital Games on Students
C.Preschoolers: More Outdoors, Less Screens D.Outdoor Games: A Growing Sense of Unease
D
In recent years, interest in space tourism has grown rapidly. Once a concept limited to science fiction, space travel for private individuals is now becoming a reality. Companies like SpaceX, Blue Origin, and Virgin Galactic are developing commercial spaceflight programs, promising a future where ordinary people can experience life beyond Earth. Wealthy adventurers, celebrities, and even a few researchers have already taken part in these early missions, drawing global attention.
However, space tourism raises important questions. Critic argue that it remains an activity for the wealthy, as ticket prices are extremely high. A single trip can cost hundreds of thousands or even millions of dollars, making space tourism accessible only to a select few. Others worry about the environmental impact. Rocket launches release large amounts of carbon dioxide and other pollutants into the atmosphere, contributing to climate change. Some scientists fear that an increase in spaceflights could worsen these issues if not properly regulated.
Supporters, on the other hand, believe that space tourism has benefits. It drives innovation in aerospace technology, leading to advancements that could make space travel more affordable in the future. Additionally, some believe that seeing Earth from space — often called the “overview effect” — gives travelers a deeper appreciation for the planet and inspires greater environmental responsibility. Documentaries and interviews with early space tourists suggest this emotional shift is genuine and long-lasting.
Despite the excitement, space tourism remains in its early stages. While a few commercial flights have successfully taken private passengers to the edge of space, long-term sustainability is still uncertain. The cost must decrease significantly for space travel to become widely accessible. Scientists also emphasize the need for better safety measures, as spaceflight remains a high-risk activity.
Some experts compare space tourism to the early days of aviation. A century ago, air travel was expensive and rare, but today, millions of people fly every day. Could the same happen with space travel? Many in the industry believe so, but it may take decades before space tourism becomes a regular part of human life.
For now, space tourism remains a thrilling yet controversial topic. While the idea of ordinary people traveling to space is inspiring, questions about cost, safety, and environmental impact must be addressed before it can truly take off.
32.What is one major concern about space tourism?
A.It harms the environment. B.It is illegal in many countries.
C.It has replaced scientific space missions. D.It distract s public attention from climate issues.
33.Why do some supporters have a positive view of space tourism?
A.It is a safe and affordable industry. B.It helps reduce global carbon emissions.
C.It could encourage better treatment of Earth. D.It provides a solution to overcrowding on Earth.
34.What does the underlined phrase “overview effect” most likely refer to?
A.A feeling of being lost in space.
B.A dangerous effect of space travel.
C.An ability to see beyond the Earth’s atmosphere.
D.A change in perspective after viewing Earth from space.
35.Which would be the best title for the passage?
A.Why Space Tourism Will Fail. B.Is Space Travel worth the Cost?
C.How Governments Control Space Travel. D.Space Tourism: The Next Step for Humanity?

Sometimes, we meet with situations that cause us to feel angry to the point we may want to erupt like a volcano or curse (咒骂) someone out. 36 Here are some replies online to the question about how to deal with anger.
Go for a swim, lift weights, and practice other forms of exercise!
Science suggests that hearing, seeing, or swimming causes our brain to produce neurochemicals that increase blood flow to the brain and heart. “ 37 I like to lift weights. It completely takes the edge off. Heavy bag work is good for cardio and reducing anger. Yoga is great for both exercise and meditation,” wrote u/JackFunk.
Eat a healthier diet.
Proteins such as fish, tofu, and chicken, help us produce higher levels of dopamine and norepinephrine, which are chemicals in the brain that play a role in your mood, motivation, and concentration. “I found that some foods messed with my stomach. 38 Over time I have removed various foods from my diet, and it has really helped,” u/JackFunk also wrote.
Write your feelings down.
Whether it’s quick sentences or journal entries, writing down how you feel is a great way to release negative emotions. “ 39 Pour your heart out… and if you’re worried that someone else may read it later, you can burn it to release the energy,” wrote u/ChoiceFabulous.
40
“If you have trouble not getting angry when discussing something or trying to work through a problem with someone, always imagine the conversation is being videotaped. If you keep that in the back of your mind, you will always think about what you say, and it could help keep your mind from the anger,” wrote u/therealtidbits.
A.For me, nothing is better than exercise.
B.Whenever I can’t help getting angry, I read.
C.Pretend that when you get angry people are watching.
D.Whenever I can’t exercise or burn out the feelings, I write.
E.Anyway, there are always better ways to handle when angry.
F.They then messed with my head, which brought out the anger.
G.Pretend there is a camera before you and be mindful of what you say.

In our childhood, there were always unforgettable things happening in our life, however, some were harmful while some were beneficial, If we could learn from the experience and lessons, it would lead to future success.
My 12th birthday came at last. What a wonderful feeling it was to know that I turned twelve and that I might possibly get the thing I wanted most.
I saw my mom and dad coming towards me with a small box wrapped up (包装) with nice pink paper with flowers on it. When I removed the paper and opened the box, I couldn’t believe my eyes. I had got a cell phone I ran to give my mom and dad the biggest hug ever, and said,
“You’ re welcome. We knew this was going to make you happy. But we give you this not only because you have turned twelve but also because you are doing well in school. We expect you to keep getting good grades.”
I said confidently that I would. As soon as I got to school the next morning, I was showing off my phone and asking everyone for their number. It was cool how I got so many contacts (联系人) on the first day. It felt like I didn’t even exist in that class any more. I didn’t pay much attention to the teachers because I was too busy on my phone. I texted my friends, surfed the Internet for stories or played games.
Luckily, I didn’t get caught using it. I had formed a habit of secretly enjoying my phone in class. But I was pretty sure that the teachers did notice that I stopped paying attention to them, because a week later we took a test and I failed. What’s worse, my parents had to sign the test.

“If you have trouble not getting angry when discussing something or trying to work through a problem with someone, always imagine the conversation is being videotaped. If you keep that in the back of your mind, you will always think about what you say, and it could help keep your mind from the anger,” wrote u/therealtidbits.

【原文】Detective Smith walked into the small apartment with his trusted friend doctor Johnson and looked at the crime scene. It was not a typical one, he noticed. Usually in crimes like this he would find broken glass, clothes on the floor and empty walls with some paintings. But inside this apartment he discovered that everything seemed to be in its proper place. That is, except for the woman crying in the kitchen. Doctor Johnson tried to check everyone’s health condition. Luckily it appeared no one had been hurt. The house owners said the locks weren’t broken and he had found no damage to the possessions. Detective Smith decided to speak with the lady in the kitchen, who was trying to feed her cat little heart shaped snacks. The cat wasn’t eating them though, which was strange because the woman said the cat usually loves them. Smith noticed that the cat looked quite sick he asked the woman what was missing and she replied that it was part of her grandmother’s necklace. She showed detective Smith a photo of the necklace. It was a piece of gold jewelry in the shape of a small heart. Suddenly something he had already observed that night flashed in his memory. He looked at his partner with a knowing smile. He said he knew who the thief was. It wasn’t a thief at all, at least not a traditional one.

D.A miss is as good as. a mile.
【答案】24.C 25.C 26.B 27.A
【导语】本文是一篇记叙文。主要讲述作者在学校学习中心带领孩子们参与各种有趣活动,在教学过程中收获快乐与成长。
24.细节理解题。根据第二段中的“At our school’s learning center, I led a program that ranged from simple art projects and sports games to hands - on science experiments. We painted colorful pictures, kicked soccer balls across the field, and watched vinegar and baking soda fizz in clear cups. Every activity turned our classroom into a place for discovery and fun.(在我们学校的学习中心,我带领开展了一个项目,内容从简单的艺术项目、体育游戏到亲自动手的科学实验。我们画色彩斑斓的画,在操场上踢足球,还观察醋和小苏打在透明杯子里冒泡。每一项活动都把我们的教室变成了一个充满发现和乐趣的地方)”可知,该项目的特点是举办各种有趣的活动。故选C项。
25.推理判断题。根据第三段中的“One memorable class involved making bubbles (肥皂泡). The children ran after the floating bubbles, shouting with delight, and I felt like a child again, caught up in their wonder. That simple game showed me how small joys can turn a normal day into something special.(一堂令人难忘的课是制作肥皂泡。孩子们追逐着漂浮的肥皂泡,高兴地大喊大叫,我也仿佛又变成了一个孩子,沉浸在他们的惊奇之中。这个简单的游戏让我明白,小小的快乐能把平凡的一天变得特别)”可知,作者提到制作肥皂泡的课是为了突出教孩子们时的快乐。故选C项。
26.词句猜测题。根据第四段中的“Other students noticed how happy our classroom sounded. They began to join in, and soon the entire learning center felt warmer and more welcoming.(其他学生注意到我们教室充满了欢乐的氛围。他们开始加入进来,很快整个学习中心都感觉更温暖、更受欢迎了)”可知,“rippled”所在句表示课程的积极影响在学校传播开来,所以“rippled”意思是“传播”,与“Spread”意思相近。故选B项。
27.推理判断题。根据倒数第二段中的“My “little friends” taught me as much as I taught them.(我的“小朋友们”教会我的和我教给他们的一样多)”以及最后一段“The energy and joy that filled the room not only impacted the children but left a long-lasting mark on me. They made me realize that education goes beyond textbooks. It’s about caring for each student, fanning their curiosity, and discovering the wonders of the world, one activity at a time.(教室里洋溢的活力与喜悦不仅影响了孩子们,也给我留下了深刻且持久的印记。这些让我意识到,教育远不止于课本知识。它关乎关爱每一位学生,激发他们的好奇心,通过一项又一项活动,去探索世界的奇妙之处)”可知,作者在教孩子们的过程中自己也收获了成长,明白了教育不仅仅是教课本知识,所以从作者的故事中我们可以学到“教学相长”。故选A项。
C
【答案】28.D 29.B 30.A 31.C
根据第二段中“Nearly one-third of parents surveyed reported that their children regularly take part in “media play”, such as video games, while three in five said their children watch videos every day.(近三分之一的受访家长表示,他们的孩子经常参与“媒体游戏”,比如电子游戏,五分之三的家长表示,他们的孩子每天都看视频)”可知,有60%的受访家长表示他们的孩子每天都看视频。故选D。
29.词句猜测题。根据画线词后“Our report suggests that many families could support healthier development by encouraging a wider variety of play experiences. For example, parents could take their children to the park before shopping or use a short walk to play a game with jumping.(我们的报告表明,许多家庭可以通过鼓励更广泛的游戏体验来支持更健康的发展。例如,父母可以在购物前带孩子去公园,或者利用一小段散步时间玩跳跃游戏)”可推断,画线词所在句意为“户外游戏对幼儿的学习和发展至关重要”,画线词意为“至关重要的”,与Important的意思最接近。故选B。
30.推理判断题。根据最后一段“While safety concerns are understandable, Clark stressed that a little independence helps children grow, encouraging curiosity and creativity. “Outdoor play doesn’t need to be perfect or educational to be beneficial,” she added. “Parents just need to make time and space for their children to play freely.”(虽然安全问题是可以理解的,但Clark强调,一点独立有助于孩子成长,鼓励好奇心和创造力。她补充说:“户外游戏并不需要完美或有教育意义才有益。”“父母只需要腾出时间和空间让孩子自由玩耍。”)”可推断,Clark主张让孩子自由、自主地玩耍。故选A。
31.主旨大意题。总览全文核心内容,尤其是第一段“Despite the well-known benefits for children’s health, one in ten parents of preschoolers say that their children play outside just once a week or less.(尽管户外活动对孩子的健康有众所周知的好处,但十分之一的学龄前儿童家长表示,他们的孩子每周只在户外活动一次或更少)”及最后一段中““Outdoor play doesn’t need to be perfect or educational to be beneficial,” she added. “Parents just need to make time and space for their children to play freely.”(“户外游戏并不需要完美或有教育意义才有益。”她补充说。“父母只需要腾出时间和空间让孩子自由玩耍。”)”可知,密歇根大学Health C. S. Mott儿童医院的一项调查显示学龄前儿童观看视频时间增多,户外活动时间减少,指出父母应鼓励孩子多参与户外活动以促进其健康发展。由此可知,C项“学龄前儿童:多户外活动,少屏幕”能够体现语篇的主旨,适合作本文标题。故选C。

33.细节理解题。根据第三段中的“Additionally, some believe that seeing Earth from space — often called the “overview effect” — gives travelers a deeper appreciation for the planet and inspires greater environmental responsibility.(此外,一些人认为,从太空看地球——通常被称为“概览效应”——让旅行者对地球有更深的欣赏,并激发更强的环境责任感)”可知,支持者对太空旅游持积极态度是因为它可能促使人们更好地对待地球。故选C项。
34.词句猜测题。根据第三段中的“Additionally, some believe that seeing Earth from space — often called the “overview effect” — gives travelers a deeper appreciation for the planet and inspires greater environmental responsibility.(此外,一些人认为,从太空看地球——通常被称为“概览效应”——让旅行者对地球有更深的欣赏,并激发更强的环境责任感)”可知,破折号之间的内容与该句的内容一致,该句是对“overview effect”的解释,由此可知,“overview effect”指的是从太空俯瞰地球后,人们在观念上发生的转变。故选D项。

I am glad to hear from you. You asked about how to maintain friendship, and I’d like to share my ideas.
First, trust is the foundation of any true friendship. You must be honest with your friends, because a friendship that is built on lies will soon break. Second, shared hobbies help deepen your connection. I have a friend who loves reading as I do. We often exchange books and talk about stories, which makes our friendship stronger.

Paragraph 2: After what happened, I decided to change everything I used to do.
____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
【答案】 After getting home, I was afraid to face my parents but I had to. After looking through the test result, I had thought that they would scold me heavily. However, I was completely wrong. They asked me about the reason for which I failed the test. I didn’t dare to tell a lie, and told them it was the phone they had bought for me that led to my poor scores. When figuring out the cause, they said, “We truly believe in you. We hope you can learn from this failure, change your old ways, and really strive to be a better student. Success will be yours.”
After what happened, I decided to change everything I used to do. Firstly, I handed in my phone to my parents and came home early right after school every day. Once I finished my homework, I’d help my parents with some housework. I hardly used my phone any more. Then in class, I’d listen carefully as before. Gradually, my school performance improved and I got good grades again.
