A balanced diet is a way of eating that gives your body all the nutrients (营养物) it needs to work well. These nutrients include carbohydrates (碳水化合物), proteins, fats, vitamins, minerals, and water.
“You are what you eat” means that the food you eat has a big effect on your mind and body, and your mind and body are what you really are.

Danny: He also told me, “You are what you eat!” Later that night, I had a dream. In the dream I became a big donut and everyone tried to eat me. It was awful!

Danny: Yeah! Then I woke up and decided to have a balanced diet.
